Chapter 25 Why has my uncle never married?

Chapter 25 Why has my uncle never married?

Back then, all the pearls and jewelry her mother had left her were traded away by them in this way. Now she had nothing else to give Fumanduo, so she could only give him a small stone that she loved.

Fu Manduo was taken aback, but then his eyes lit up with joy as he looked at the stone in Xiao Su Bao's hand.

She loves collecting these little stones.

"Thank you! I like it very much!" Fu Manduo took the stone and smiled. Because she was chubby, her eyes disappeared when she smiled.

Looking at Fu Manduo's appearance, Xiao Su Bao couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

The two children somehow hit it off and wouldn't allow anyone around them to interrupt.

Fu Manduo looked at Xiao Su Bao with lingering affection, turning back every few steps.

This sight immediately attracted many people around to stop and watch.

Tang Qi simply found a vendor selling candied hawthorns and bought two more skewers.

Little Su Bao couldn't bear to eat any of them and planned to take them back to her mother and the others.

After walking around for a while, Tang Qi saw that it was almost time, so he led them back. Halfway there, they heard that Baojitang had been robbed.

Tang Qi raised an eyebrow, involuntarily recalling what had happened before.

He paused for a moment, glancing at the little girl in Tang Shan's arms. This little girl had told them to close the door earlier...

Could it be because of those eight fugitives?

Though doubts arose in his heart, Tang Qi did not show it on his face. Since the thousand-year-old peach tree had blossomed, perhaps what his father had said was true...

They returned to Baicaotang, where Doctor Song, Tang Yu, and Su Daguang had a pleasant chat.

After taking the medicine, Tang Yu felt much better and regained her energy.

"Mom, we're back!" Tang Qi called out, putting Xiao Su Bao on the ground.

Little Su Bao ran towards the kitchen, carrying a candied hawthorn in each hand.

"Mom, my second brother just bought me candied hawthorns!" The little dumpling's face was flushed, and her eyes were shining as she ran in.

Wang Xiuer turned her head and looked over, subconsciously swallowing her saliva (^﹃^).

He forcefully pulled his gaze away.

I'm an adult now, I can't act like a child.

Despite being quite thin, Xiao Su Bao was full of energy, which made Qian Shi breathe a slight sigh of relief.

"Mom, eat!" Little Su Bao said, handing a candied hawthorn to Madam Qian.

Looking at the candied hawthorn being offered to her mouth, then at the little dumpling, Qian smiled and said, "No need, Mother doesn't need to eat, you can eat it yourself!"

Little Su Bao shook her head, still stubbornly holding up the candied hawthorn, her eyes sparkling.

Her mother was good to her, so she should be good to her mother in return!

Mrs. Qian felt incredibly warm inside; after all, her son was sometimes useless…

She took a small bite, then smiled and said, "Alright, Mom's finished eating. You all go wash your hands and get ready to eat!"

Little Su Bao refused, insisting that she eat the first hawthorn before she would agree.

Then came Sun Cuihua and Wang Xiuer; not a single baby was left out.

Although I was a little shy and embarrassed, I still encouraged myself and tried my best to please everyone in my family.

Even among the few people outside, Xiao Su Bao received a candied hawthorn.

Looking at the little dumpling, Dr. Song felt incredibly warm inside.

If my troublesome son were as good as Xiao Su Bao, I wouldn't be so worried about him.

Tang Yu was never married and had no children, so she adored all the children in the Tang family.

Xiao Su Bao was still her adopted daughter, and Tang Yu treated her as her own daughter.

“Little Su Bao, come here and call me Daddy!” Tang Yu said shamelessly.

Immediately, Ms. Qian, who was cooking inside the house, blushed.

"Brother, stop trying to take advantage of my daughter! If you want her, find a wife, get married, and have a baby yourself. Su Bao is your uncle, call him Uncle!" Madam Qian shouted angrily and ashamedly.

"Uncle!" Little Su Bao called out obediently.

Tang Yu didn't seem to care much. Instead, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a pair of peach wood bracelets.

He made this himself; it's not worth much, but the peach blossoms carved on it are very beautiful.

"Here you go!" Tang Yu said to Xiao Su Bao with a smile.

Xiao Su Bao took a step back and hid behind Tang Qi.

Tang Qi was helpless; anyone with eyes could see what his uncle was thinking about his mother.

But what could they do when their mother pretended to be stupid?

My father has been dead for ten years, and my uncle has never married. Why?

Nowadays, a widow remarrying is not a big deal, and no one cares about it.

"Take them! They're not worth much!" Tang Yu said with a smile, placing the two peach blossom bracelets in front of Xiao Su Bao.

Madam Qian came out carrying a bowl of shaved noodles and placed it directly in front of Doctor Song.

Seeing the peach blossom bracelet didn't surprise me. My uncle likes to collect these things in his spare time, and I don't know how many of these bracelets he has at home.

"Here, take it!" she said with a smile to Xiao Su Bao, and casually put the peach wood bracelet on Xiao Su Bao's wrist.

Little Su Bao looked at the bracelet with a hint of joy in her eyes.

Wang Xiuer and Sun Cuihua brought out bowls of noodles, but only the first bowl was full; the others only had half a bowl.

Moreover, there was much more soup than noodles.

Fortunately, Qian also provided kimchi and flatbread, and even Su Daguang ate quite a bit of it.

"What is this?" Doctor Song asked, taking a bite of the salty and savory flavor.

"This is a steamed bun with soy sauce!" Madam Qian said with a smile. In front of her was almost nothing but soup, with hardly any noodles.

Tang Yu's bowl was alright, because he wasn't in good health; he had more noodles than the others.

Next is Xiao Su Bao. This girl is too thin. Even though Qian Shi herself is reluctant to give her any, she still wants to give Xiao Su Bao more to eat.

Little Su Bao looked at her own bowl, then at Qian's, and the little dumpling was about to pick up the slightly hot bowl.

Ms. Qian was startled and quickly grabbed her hand.

"This bowl is very hot, be careful not to burn yourself." Madam Qian quickly grabbed her hand and blew on it.

Little Su Bao felt a warmth in her heart, but for some reason her nose felt sore. She sniffled and said to Qian Shi in her childish voice, "Little Su Bao's tummy is small, so I don't eat much. Mother, please eat more!"

Even Dr. Song and Su Daguang were somewhat envious of such a sensible and obedient child.

Tang Dabao and the others also brought over their own: "Milk, Auntie, have some!"

A smile curved Qian's lips, and warmth filled her eyes.

"Alright, everyone, let's eat! Don't be so polite, this is Dr. Song's treat. Hurry up and finish eating, then get back to work!"

Madam Qian returned all the bowls, rubbed Xiao Su Bao's head, and hugged her in her arms: "Alright, Mommy ate in the kitchen and isn't hungry. Besides, we still have so many pancakes. Mommy is full. You're still little, so you need to eat more, okay?"

Little Su Bao looked at her mother, then at her own bowl, and shook her head.

"Half for you!" the little baby said firmly.
