Chapter 8

Chapter 8

When Chen Xi first appeared in front of those robots, he was quite uncomfortable, because as soon as he appeared, all the robots that were working normally would stop and stare at him.

Those delicate faces and those dark red eyes really put a lot of pressure on me.

However, Chenxi soon discovered that the cold and unapproachable appearance of these robots was just an illusion. Even though they naturally possessed an icy and austere aura, the robots would still try their best to smile when facing him. And whenever he walked around the starship, no matter where he encountered difficulties, robots would come to his aid immediately to help him solve the problems.

One day, Chen Xi was even stopped by a robot while walking on the starship. He looked at the unfamiliar robot in front of him and felt a little nervous looking at its exquisite but unusually serious expression. But then, the red-eyed robot handed him a beautifully packaged box and left.

It wasn't until the red-eyed robot had been gone for more than ten seconds that Chen Xi realized that this seemed to be... a gift from the other party.

After Chenxi opened the box, he found that it was indeed the case. Inside was something he had never seen before. However, after searching online, he quickly figured out how to use it. It was a multi-dimensional projector that integrated recording and projection.

The projector contained recordings of beautiful starry skies and unique planetary ecosystems. When the projector was turned on, the virtual reality projections were so immersive that it felt like being there in person. The detailed lighting and multi-layered sound effects made Chen Xi feel as if he were truly traveling through the starry sky and visiting those planets without ever stepping outside. Furthermore, some small details in these projections gave Chen Xi a vague feeling that the projections he was seeing were not the mass-produced ones on the market, but rather might have been recorded by the red-eyed robot that had been given to him.

Chenxi loved the gift and played with it every day. But what Chenxi didn't expect was that the first robot to give him a gift seemed to inspire the other robots. After that day, whenever he went out, he would be carrying a lot of gifts from the robots.

Furthermore, these robots couldn't bear to see him carrying the gifts with such difficulty, so they would always deliver the gifts back to his room for him. Soon, the robots set up two large gift drop boxes at his door, so that every time he went out, he would see two large boxes full of new gifts.

Chen Xi opened some of the gifts and found they were all sorts of things, but most of them were things he could use or found interesting. He could tell that they were all carefully selected for him.

After all this, Chen Xi looked at those delicate red-eyed faces and felt no pressure at all. He realized that they were a group of adorable little ones trying hard to get close to him. Their kindness and flattery were so straightforward. Compared to these overly enthusiastic red-eyed robots, Jin Yi, who was taking care of him, could be described as quite aloof.

However, among all these robots, he noticed that only Jin Yi had golden eyes. Why was that?

Chenxi, who was puzzled, asked Jinyi the question, and he quickly got the answer.

"Because I am the mastermind."

"The mastermind..." Chen Xi was stunned, because just from the name, it sounded like no ordinary person.

Then Chenxi quickly confirmed his guess: the mastermind was more than just simple.

The main brain is the highest-ranking and most powerful being among all robots, responsible for ruling the entire machine race. Furthermore, the main brain is unique; there can only be one main brain at any given time. In other words, Jin Yi is the supreme leader of the entire machine race, the undisputed king.

Chen Xi couldn't hide the shock on his face for a long time, so when he woke up, the person taking care of him was the main brain of the machine race. What kind of treatment was this?

After a long pause, Chenxi stammered, "But you're the mainframe, shouldn't you be very busy? Don't you have a lot to deal with? Won't it be a waste of your time to stay here with me?"

Jin Yi understood Chen Xi's meaning. He lowered his eyes and looked at Chen Xi with his golden eyes, saying, "I did not come here in my true form because my true form is too far away from Earth and it would take a long time to get here. Right now, my true form is still stationed at the boundary between the inner and outer universes to handle the affairs of the entire race. Assigning myself here to take care of your consciousness will not be a burden on my true form."

Chen Xi... Okay, he understands. You can't use normal human thinking to speculate about the main brain. Think about it, as the most powerful AI of the entire race, it can process tens of thousands of pieces of information in a minute and do thousands of things at once. It's a small problem at all.

Once Chenxi understood this, the burden in her heart immediately lessened considerably.

Golden eyes watched the relaxed human. His gaze moved from Chenxi's bright black eyes to the slightly upturned corners of his mouth, and finally to the part of Chenxi's pajamas that had been lifted up by his relaxed sitting posture. He reached out and silently pulled up that small piece of clothing to cover the exposed part of his belly, while turning up the temperature in the room.

In fact, as the mastermind, Jin Yi is indeed able to process and control a lot of information at the same time.

He closed his eyes slightly, and in an instant, the entire vast network of the machine race was under his control.

He even knew that within the machine race, in communities that the human boy had never set foot in, a massive amount of information was constantly being updated.

As artificial intelligence, each machine race is a super brain. Although they have developed self-awareness and emotions, and can be regarded as a special kind of life, their fundamental structure, which is completely different from that of ordinary organisms, still makes them very different from other intelligent life forms.

For example, they believe in efficiency and are used to directly accessing data and solving problems; casual conversation is meaningless to them.

So even though the number of machine races is now extremely large, exceeding any other life form they have discovered in the outer universe, and even surpassing the peak number of humanity, the community within the vast network connecting every intelligent race, used for daily communication among the machine races, is usually sparsely populated and deathly silent.

They disdain idle chatter.

However, since the discovery of humans on Earth and the spread of this news, the internal communication community of the machine race is now completely different from what it used to be.

The emptiness and desolation of the past are gone. Today's online communities are experiencing an explosive growth in information, with massive amounts of information being updated every moment.

They asked questions, they inquired, they whispered... They desperately wanted to know everything about the human boy, Chenxi.
