Chapter 7 (2)

Chapter 7 (2)

Yu Meng picked it up and looked at it. The 62nd lot was: Tang Monk attains enlightenment. It was also a winning lot.

Check the fortune book: "Morning and evening, I rely entirely on the Buddha's support. Even if I encounter danger, I will not be in danger. If I can find a noble person to guide me, then wealth will also follow."

Before Kang Long even began his analysis, Yu Meng had already grasped most of it and rushed to say, "Clearly, there must be a noble person." Turning to Kang Long, "Xiaokang, tell me again where the noble person is." Kang Long cast a hexagram and said the noble person came from the southeast. Yu Meng muttered to herself, unable to imagine who the sacred person was in the southeast.

Yu Jia hadn't wanted to count at first, but seeing this, he felt a little itchy. So he also picked up the stick box, prayed sincerely, shook it, and a stick came out.

No. 26: Zhong Kui attains enlightenment. Winning lot.

The inscription read: "News from above and below are turning into empty promises. I have received a letter from the heavens; it promises me great success and fame, but even to the end, it will be empty. This hexagram represents empty fame. Everything is empty, so it is better to be conservative." Yu Jia's heart skipped a beat when she heard this. It was her first time asking for a fortune, and she didn't expect it to be so accurate.

Zhong Kui was a ghost, how could he achieve enlightenment? So, it was all just a false reputation. After Li Ren passed away, wasn't she just burdened with the false reputation of being his wife? This fate was simply a prank by heaven.

Yu Shuang and Yu Meng also roughly understood the meaning of the signature and looked gloomy.

Yu Meng said to Kang Long, "Quick, Master, how do we change our luck?"

Yu Jia stopped him, "No need to turn, just do what you need to do."

Mom's birthday was a big deal for Yu Shuang, and this year was no exception. However, the situation was special: Chun'er had come to help her aunt celebrate Grandma's birthday, and Shuang's mom liked to drink some red wine.

The dishes were served, and a glass of red wine was poured and placed on the table. Kang Long hadn't arrived yet. But Yu Shuang could sense his low mood recently. People around him had died one after another. Last month, on his mother's death anniversary, Yu Shuang had accompanied her to visit the grave. When he came back, he saw Chairman Kang talking on the phone with someone, giggling. Kang Long was unhappy. Thousands of ships pass by the side of the sunken boat, and thousands of trees bloom in front of the dead tree. His mother passed away, and his father came to live with him. Fortunately, Yu Shuang mediated and the conflict did not escalate. But Kang Long thought that letting his father live with Yu Shuang was not a long-term solution. Chairman Kang was always causing trouble and liked to urge him to get married. When summer came, he didn't pay attention to his clothes. Even if the room was separated by a sliding door, there was still a difference between men and women.

Something else recently irritated Kanglong: his father visited a cemetery right next to his aunt's—he didn't plan to be buried with his mother after a hundred years. What a heartless man! Kanglong's mother hated his father, but they were married after all. They had been separated in life, and how could they part in death? He didn't know what was good for him!

So, Kang Long started contacting nursing homes, even if it meant paying more every month, to send Chairman Kang in. He felt that it was not worth it to treat him well.

"Oh, there's food." Chairman Kang returned from his stroll and saw a table full of food and a glass of red wine. Without hesitation, he took a sip and ate a piece of pig's ear. "Xiao Yu, who's coming? What day is it today?" Yu Shuang and Chun'er emerged from the kitchen and saw Chairman Kang holding a wine glass. They were embarrassed. Yu Shuang had no choice but to ask Chun'er to get another glass and fill it up.

Kanglong still hadn't arrived.

Chun Er stood in front of Chairman Kang and said, "This is for my grandma."

"Which grandma?" Chairman Kang asked.

"Grandma in heaven." Chun'er said.

Chairman Kang nearly choked. Yu Shuang came out and said with a smile, "Chairman Kang, I forgot to tell you. Today is my mother's birthday." Chairman Kang was embarrassed and apologized quickly. Yu Shuang reminded him to be careful with his words when Kang Long came. At lunchtime, Kang Long appeared, bearing carnations. His face was gloomy.

There was an empty bowl and chopsticks beside me while I ate. It was for Yu Shuang's mother.

Kang Long asked, "Anything else? Another set." He also wanted to pay tribute to his mother.

Yu Shuang quickly took it and put it on the table.

Chairman Kang felt uncomfortable. "Materialism, why bother with these empty things?"

Kanglong was depressed and unhappy.

Chairman Kang picked up his chopsticks and said, "Let's get started."

Chun'er quickly said, "Grandpa, wait a minute." She ran into the house, pulled out a small notebook, opened it, and read. It was a short essay she had written, titled "A Letter to Grandma in Heaven." It was an expression of grief. Yu Shuang's eyes welled up as he listened.

Chairman Kang said, "Just treat each other well while you're alive."

Kang Long retorted: "Dad, just because you don't miss me doesn't mean others don't miss me."

Chairman Kang refused to give in. "Of course I don't miss you. I miss you in my heart, not out loud."

"Just say less." Kang Long said in a bad tone.

Chairman Kang put down his chopsticks and asked, "Are you looking for trouble?"

Chun Er was so frightened that she stepped back. Yu Shuang hurriedly tried to separate them.

Thinking of his mother, Kang Long couldn't hold back his anger. "You didn't let me down when I was alive, and you still don't let me down after I die!" Yu Shuang was helpless. "What are you saying?" He turned to look at the small portrait of his mother on the table and muttered, "Mom, it's an accident, an accident, just treat it as a show."

Chairman Kang picked up the tickler and was about to teach his son a lesson.

"Stop it!" Yu Shuang shouted in a dragging voice.

The father and son stopped fighting. Chun'er dragged Uncle Kang to one room. Yu Shuang dragged Chairman Kang to another. Chairman Kang cursed, "He's a traitor! Who is my father? It's his mother's death anniversary, and he's putting on a stinky face! His father isn't even dead yet!"

Yu Shuang comforted his father and then went to comfort his son.

Kang Long said, "He was fooling around with people while he was alive! He's still fooling around after he's dead! My mother..." His eyes were red. Yu Shuang knew about buying a cemetery, but he didn't know how to persuade him. It was a confusing matter as to who would decide where to lie down after death.

Kang Long added, "Don't be so arrogant. When the day comes, I'll still have the final say on where to bury him!"

After a moment of calm, Kang Long took the initiative. He opened the sliding door, walked to his father's room, and said in a serious tone: "Dad, you can't live here?"

Chun'er followed Uncle Kang, staring intently. Yu Shuang tried to smooth things over, but it was no use. Chairman Kang's eyebrows were raised, "Where else can I live if not here? Where can I live with you? Even lying in a coffin is better than yours!"

"I found a nursing home for you."

"Mental hospital, you want to harm your father? No way!"

"It's not appropriate for you to live here!" Kang Long said firmly.

"Whether it's suitable or not is not up to you!" Chairman Kang said to Shuang, "Xiao Shuang, will you let me stay here? Just one word!"

Yu Shuang stammered and could not speak a complete sentence.

"How can a father-in-law live with his daughter-in-law? Is that right?" Kang Long attacked.

"You're not married yet!" Chairman Kang said, "You're not filial, and you don't allow others to be filial. You're a rebellious son!"

"If I'm not filial, I won't care about you at all!" Kang Long retorted.

Chairman Kang leaped up and swung his fist, ready to strike. The situation was about to escalate.

"Don't move!" Yu Shuang had to use sonic power and scream.

Neither father nor son moved.

Yu Shuang pulled Chun'er over and said, "Kang Long, go back first! Chairman Kang, calm down too. It's not a big deal, it's not worth it!"

Kanglong still needs to distinguish.

Yu Shuang shouted, "Stop! Go back! Remember, he's your dad! He's a coward! He's still your dad!"

Chairman Kang was confused. No one had called him a turtle bastard for many years. The last time he was humiliated was because of Kang Long's mother.
