Chapter 8 (7)
For Han Guang, issuing the note was just a test and not a big deal, but the complexity of the process suddenly made him feel that the whole thing was a bit interesting.
Yu Meng understood correctly. Han Guang asked her to go to Liangcai for help, which was actually a "pledge of allegiance." Because of the position in the federation, Han Guang and Liangcai fought fiercely. In the end, Han Guang's side won. Weng Yue got the position of committee member. However, after that, Han Guang began to distance himself from Weng Yue - he didn't see her - he felt that he had fulfilled his obligations and should say goodbye to the Weng family. As for Yu Meng, he wanted to test her and humiliate Liangcai at the same time. Although Zu Liangcai succeeded successfully, Han Guang wanted to let him know who the real strong one was.
He knew, of course, that a talented person couldn't do it. Even if he could, he wouldn't do it. In some ways, Han Guang considered himself a bit like Cao Cao. He loved to take things from others, including women. He loved to take women as trophies, especially women like Yu Meng.
Compared to Weng Yue, Yu Meng is more feminine. Compared to younger women like Yu Rui, Yu Meng has more experience and is a valuable career asset. When he was young, others favored Zhang Yu and Cong Shan, but he preferred Siqin Gaowa. It's because Siqin Gaowa, as soon as she stepped onto the screen, imbued herself with the allure of a mature woman.
His only concern was loyalty.
Therefore, this time, the wind power plant is just a small test.
Not long after, insider information arrived: Yu Meng hadn't gone to Liangcai, but instead, it was Yu Rui who had gone to her connections. Han Guang was a bit perplexed. His assistant had betrayed him? Such a bizarre thing. Han Guang thought he'd somewhat shocked and captivated Yu Rui. How could this young woman betray him? He couldn't help but feel a wave of self-doubt.
In the evening, after work, Han Guang called Ye Cha and asked Xiao Yu to come over. Yu Rui instinctively felt something was wrong. She walked into Han Guang's office, but no one was there. After a while, he came in and said, "Sit down."
He returned to his large chair, about three meters away from her.
Silence. He stared at her.
Yu Rui was apprehensive, but she remained dignified. She had seen many big scenes and was not afraid of them.
After a while, Han Guang finally spoke, "Do you know what I hate most?"
Yu Rui's heart trembled. Did he know? Of course, he was Han Guang. She went to Liang Cai and didn't even mention Yu Meng, simply saying it was a company project. Liang Cai asked her who the investors were. Yu Rui gave a vague answer. Liang Cai didn't ask any further. It probably wasn't going to work.
"I'm thinking about the company." Yu Rui said righteously.
"Sometimes, meddling in other people's affairs will only hurt yourself."
"I'm really considering this for the company. This project is very important. Not getting it would be bad for the company, and bad for you..." She wasn't talking about CEO Han, she was talking about you. Inexplicably, Han Guang's heart skipped a beat. This girl was young, stubborn, and naive. Too naive. Such a small project, just bait, to test the waters, how could it affect his business empire? Ridiculous.
However, when these irrelevant words came out of Yu Rui's mouth by chance, Han Guang found her somewhat cute.
"Why you?"
"I'm familiar with both sides."
Han Guang nodded slightly, subconsciously touched his chin, and stretched out a finger with his other hand, "You and the one with the surname Zu..."
"Old friend."
"How old?" Han Guang wondered. Yu Rui didn't seem very old, so how could she be that old? He knew all about Zu Liangcai's affairs, and he hadn't noticed any trace of Yu Rui.
"Just friends?" he asked.
"Just friends." Yu Rui bit back, she believed she was right. Even when they were in school, the relationship between her and Liang Cai was just friends. But who said friends couldn't have a deeper relationship?
Han Guang laughed and joked, "The word 'friend' has a lot of connotations."
Yu Rui couldn't help but retort, "You like to do this, but others may not like it."
interesting.
Han Guang stood up and said condescendingly, "It seems you have misunderstood me."
"I dare not." Yu Rui twisted her neck and looked at the ground at a 45-degree angle, as if she was about to be executed.
"You must think I was too cruel to that girl." His face was serious, with a fierce look on his face. "You must think I'm rich and unkind and do whatever I want. You might also think I'm a pervert who enjoys torturing women. There's another possibility, maybe you think I don't like women at all."
"I don't care." Yu Rui had a blank expression on her face, as if she was resisting a landslide.
Han Guang walked around and faced her. "If I told her that the woman was a surrogate mother and that the baby wasn't developing well and had to be abandoned, would your impression of me improve?"
Surrogate mother? What the hell? I've only heard of it, never seen it… The world is full of wonders… Yu Rui's inner mystery suddenly cleared up: he actually wanted a child. Oh, it all made sense; no wonder the girl was so calm. But a new mystery loomed: who was the mother? What kind of woman would a man like Han Guang choose to partner with? Weng Yue? Impossible. They were already broken off. For a moment, Yu Rui's mind was in turmoil, as if the three hearts in her name were working simultaneously, yet she couldn't figure out Han Guang's game.
"The eggs were bought." Han Guang suddenly went a step further.
Oh no! He had guessed everything she was thinking. Yu Rui's expression relaxed a little.
"Don't you want to pity me?" He started to be cynical again.
Shit! Yu Rui cursed in her heart, "I'm a poor man, I pity you. To the rich, everything is a commodity."
"Keep it secret," Han Guang instructed. Yu Rui picked up her book and quickly left the office. Han Guang stared at the girl's back, seemingly confused as to why he had suddenly become so honest. Perhaps he was overconfident, certain she wouldn't betray him. Or perhaps, to him, she was just a hollow tree.
After dinner, they emerged from the mall, standing in the breeze. Kang Long was about to take off his coat to put on Yu Shuang. Yu Shuang's heart trembled. No, she had to act quickly; she was afraid it would take too long. Then she changed her mind.
Yu Shuang took off his coat and returned it to Kang Long.
"You can't be so nice to me."
"What are you talking about?" Kang Long instinctively felt that something was wrong. Today's meal was eaten with a sense of ritual, as if to welcome something big to happen.
"Thank you." Yu Shuang smiled, the wind ruffling her hair. "Thank you for showing up so timely. Thank you for your selfless dedication all the time. Thank you for your appreciation of me. Thank you for your kindness and tolerance. I'm sorry for you. You've suffered."
Kang Long said seriously, "Can you not talk about this? I've said it all, and I'm willing to do it." After a pause of half a second, he added, "My dad is like that. You just need to listen to what he says."
"We are not suitable, and I can't drag you down." Yu Shuang said.
"Just because of the child? If it doesn't work once, we can try again. What's the big deal? We are still young."
"I can't get over it."
"That's not necessary."
"You have to have a baby."
"Who told you that I must have children? There are so many people who don't have children, and they don't have any?"
"You are comforting me." Yu Shuang softened a little, but still insisted.
"I don't agree. You have to get over that hurdle in your heart. Stop being so petty-bourgeois, with everything being yours and mine, with who's owed what who's owed. Can't we just abandon the bourgeoisie and be proletarian, socialist, with distribution according to need, and blend in? What's the big deal?"
"I said it's not your problem. You don't need to agree or disagree. It's me. I can't accept this kind of life. I don't want to get married. I want a child now, more than you do!"
"Then keep trying and keep treating!"
"The doctor said there's no hope for me."
"Quack! Have you stopped having your period? Are you not ovulating? Have you lost your female sexual function? If all else fails, you can try IVF. If that doesn't work, you can try surrogacy. What's the big deal? You have to believe in science."
Yu Shuang nodded silently, "I won't say anymore. I'm tired."
"Anyway, I don't agree."
"Think about it again." Yu Shuang said calmly.
"I just don't understand why you always complicate simple issues." Kang Long said with a hint of blame.
"You're the one who made things complicated," Yu Shuang said. "You were the one who suggested having a child, and your father suggested we get married. You're the one who complicated our relationship, like putting a grain of sand in a shell."
Kang Long was stunned for two seconds, then said earnestly, "Hold on, the sand will turn into pearls."
"I just want to keep it simple."
"What do you mean."
"Calm down, let's separate for a while."
"Why can't I warm your heart?"
"I find that I don't love you that much anymore! Okay!" Yu Shuang also lost control.
Kanglong was bored.
"What a crap love! It will all be over soon!" Yu Shuang waved his arms. "You know, you know our love is fading, that's why we asked for a child. But a child is not a shield, and God won't allow us to do that! Don't you understand?!"
The night was bright. Yu Shuang took a few steps and walked away. Kang Long stood alone under the billboard, not knowing where to go.
