Ling Yichen frantically groped around in the dark lighthouse, his fingertips raw from the excessive force, the stench of blood filling the small, enclosed space. The faint footsteps overhead sounded like death knells, each one striking his taut nerves. The secret of the new drama was so close, yet it seemed as if an insurmountable chasm separated them.
Ling Yichen endured the pain in his fingertips, groping along the cold, rough stone wall, trying to find the mechanism to open the door. His breathing was rapid and heavy, echoing dully in the darkness, each breath filled with tension and fear. In the darkness, his vision was almost useless; he could only perceive his surroundings through hearing and touch. The ancient aura grew stronger, mixed with the metallic scent of his own blood, making him feel dizzy.
"Who is it? Why are you trapping me here!" Ling Yichen roared angrily, his voice echoing throughout the lighthouse, only to be met with deathly silence. His voice was hoarse with anger and anxiety, but only the chilling silence answered him.
Suddenly, a sharp, screeching sound came from above, piercing the darkness like a sharp blade thrusting into Ling Yichen's eardrums, sending chills down his spine. He looked up in terror; though he couldn't see anything, he could sense something slowly approaching. Ling Yichen's heart pounded, the sound of his heart pounding echoing in his ears as if it would burst from his chest.
"Calm down, I must calm down." Ling Yichen kept repeating this to himself, trying to calm himself down. He forced himself to stop the pointless fumbling and calm down to think. Suddenly, he remembered that he still had his phone in his pocket; perhaps he could use the phone's light to illuminate his surroundings.
Ling Yichen trembled as he pulled out his phone and pressed the power button. The moment the screen lit up, a faint ray of light pierced the darkness, illuminating a small area around him. Using the phone's light, he saw some strange patterns on the wall, like some kind of ancient symbol. These symbols were crooked and looked particularly eerie under the dim light of the phone.
Ling Yichen leaned closer to the wall, carefully observing the symbols. He discovered that these symbols seemed to follow a certain pattern, vaguely connected to the encrypted numbers he had seen on the decoder earlier. His heart raced again, this time with excitement and anticipation. Could these symbols be the key to unlocking the secrets of the new drama?
Just as Ling Yichen was engrossed in studying the symbols, his phone screen flickered a few times and then went black. Startled, Ling Yichen pressed the power button again, but the phone remained unresponsive. It turned out the battery had run out.
"Damn it!" Ling Yichen cursed under his breath. Darkness enveloped him again, and fear and despair surged into his heart like a tide. He could hear his own rapid breathing and violent heartbeat, which sounded exceptionally clear in the darkness.
Suddenly, a series of light footsteps came from the stairs, slow and heavy, each step feeling like a blow to Ling Yichen's heart. Ling Yichen held his breath, waiting nervously. As the footsteps drew closer, he could smell a pungent odor of smoke, the smell particularly strong in the darkness, making him involuntarily frown.
"Who is it? Show yourself!" Ling Yichen shouted, his voice trembling slightly. His hands groped in the darkness, trying to find something he could use as a weapon.
The footsteps stopped a few steps away from him, and then a deep voice sounded in the darkness: "You think you can easily uncover the secrets of the new drama? You're too naive."
Ling Yichen was startled; he recognized the voice as belonging to the person who had called him earlier. "Who are you? Why are you stopping me?" Ling Yichen asked angrily.
The other party didn't answer, but instead let out a sinister laugh. The laughter echoed in the darkness, sending a chill down Ling Yichen's spine. "You don't need to know who I am. You just need to know that you'll never get the secret of the new drama," the other party said coldly.
A surge of anger welled up in Ling Yichen's heart, and he charged headlong toward the source of the sound. In the darkness, he couldn't see his opponent, and could only swing his fists by instinct. However, his attacks missed; his opponent seemed to have easily dodged them.
"Don't waste your energy, you can't escape." The voice rang out again, this time seemingly coming from another direction. Ling Yichen turned around warily, trying to locate the other person. But in the darkness, he couldn't determine their position at all.
Suddenly, Ling Yichen felt a powerful force attack from behind, and he was violently pushed to the ground. Pain instantly spread throughout his body. He struggled to get up, but found that his arm was being held down firmly by the other person.
"You think you can defeat me?" the other party said coldly. "Today, you will stay here forever."
Ling Yichen struggled desperately, trying to break free from the other person's control. His ears were filled with his own panting and the other person's heavy breathing, as well as the rustling of clothes. In the midst of this fierce struggle, Ling Yichen suddenly noticed a tattoo on the other person's arm; the design seemed familiar.
Just as Ling Yichen was trying to recall the tattoo design, the other person suddenly increased the pressure on his arm, and Ling Yichen felt as if his arm was about to be broken. "Ah!" He couldn't help but let out a painful scream.
However, at this critical moment, a commotion suddenly erupted outside the lighthouse, as if people were arguing. The person on the other end paused slightly upon hearing the noise, and loosened their grip. Taking advantage of this, Ling Yichen forcefully shook off the person's control.
"What's going on?" the other person muttered to themselves, a hint of doubt in their voice.
Ling Yichen ignored the other person and, taking advantage of their momentary distraction, ran towards the stairs. He groped his way forward in the darkness, each step fraught with danger. He could hear shouts and the sound of pursuit from behind, but he couldn't care less; he only wanted to escape this terrifying place as quickly as possible.
After running for a while, Ling Yichen spotted a glimmer of light ahead. He was overjoyed, knowing he was close to finding the exit. He quickened his pace and ran towards the light.
When he finally reached the lighthouse exit, he found it blocked by a huge rock. Ling Yichen pushed the rock with all his might, but it didn't budge.
"No!" Ling Yichen cried out in despair. He looked back and saw the other person chasing after him.
