Chapter 193 Breaking the Impasse in a Desperate Situation and New Clues to the Secret

Ling Yichen's hands trembled as he pushed the boulder with all his might. The footsteps of the enemy behind him grew closer and closer, each step feeling like a trampling on his hopes. The arguing outside the lighthouse, though close at hand, was like looking at flowers through a fog, and he wondered if it could become a turning point for him to escape and uncover the secrets of the new drama.

Ling Yichen's palms were already raw and bleeding from the rough stones, blood mingling with sweat, slowly trickling down his arms and emitting a pungent, metallic odor in the darkness. His breathing was rapid and heavy, echoing in the narrow exit, a sound like a desperate cry for life. His eyes were fixed on the faint light filtering through the crack in the rocks, a glimmer of hope in the darkness, yet so unattainable.

"No, I can't be trapped here!" Ling Yichen gritted his teeth and exerted all his strength again, but the boulder seemed to be rooted to the spot and wouldn't budge. His arms were sore and numb from overexertion, every muscle protesting, but he dared not slacken in the slightest, because he knew that once he stopped, endless darkness and unknown dangers awaited him.

At this moment, the footsteps behind him grew closer, and the enemy's heavy breathing was clearly audible, mixed with the pungent smell of smoke, making Ling Yichen feel nauseous. He knew that the enemy had caught up, and time was of the essence; he had to find a way to escape as soon as possible.

Suddenly, the arguing outside the lighthouse intensified, accompanied by several sharp screams that pierced the tense and oppressive atmosphere. Ling Yichen's heart skipped a beat; he realized this might be his only chance. He took a deep breath, concentrating all his strength in his arms once more, attempting to use the chaos outside to push the boulder aside.

"One, two, three!" Ling Yichen roared, using his last ounce of strength. Just then, he seemed to hear a slight creaking sound from the boulder. Though extremely faint, it was remarkably clear in the silent darkness. Ling Yichen's heart leaped with joy; he knew that the boulder was showing signs of loosening.

Ignoring his exhaustion and pain, Ling Yichen exerted himself once more. Sweat rolled down his forehead, dripping onto the ground beneath his feet and evaporating instantly. His vision blurred with sweat and tension, but he remained fixed on the beam of light, driven by a single belief: escape and uncover the secrets of the new drama.

Finally, thanks to Ling Yichen's relentless efforts, the boulder slowly moved a few centimeters. A brighter ray of light shone in, illuminating his sweat- and dust-covered face. Without hesitation, Ling Yichen squeezed through the narrow gap and finally escaped the lighthouse.

The outside world was in chaos. Ling Yichen saw several figures wrestling in the dim light. The acrid smell of gunpowder filled the air, making him cough involuntarily. As his eyes gradually adjusted to the light, he realized that one of the people was Li Yang.

"Li Yang!" Ling Yichen shouted loudly, his voice filled with surprise and excitement.

Hearing the shout, Li Yang turned around and saw Ling Yichen. A surprised smile appeared on his face: "Ling Yichen, I'm so glad you're alright!"

It turned out that after escaping the men in black, Li Yang had been worried about Ling Yichen's safety. He searched everywhere for Ling Yichen's whereabouts and eventually tracked him to the abandoned dock. When he arrived near the lighthouse, he found several men in black guarding the area. Realizing that Ling Yichen might be trapped inside, he engaged in a fight with them.

"Who are these people? Why are they trying to stop us from uncovering the secrets of the new drama?" Ling Yichen asked, panting heavily.

Li Yang shook his head: "I don't know either. I only know that they seem to be employed by some mysterious organization and are determined to get the secrets of the new drama."

Just then, taking advantage of their conversation, a man in black suddenly rushed over, his dagger aimed straight at Ling Yichen. Startled, Ling Yichen quickly dodged to the side. The dagger grazed his clothes, sending a gust of cold wind through him.

"Watch out!" Li Yang shouted, rushing forward to engage the man in black in a fierce fight. Ling Yichen also quickly joined the battle, and they fought intensely against the man in black.

In the chaos, Ling Yichen noticed a man in black quietly running towards the lighthouse. A thought struck him; he realized this man in black might know a crucial clue to the secret of the new drama.

"Li Yang, you hold them off, I'm going after that guy!" Ling Yichen shouted.

Li Yang nodded: "Okay, be careful!"

Ling Yichen turned and chased after the man in black who had fled. His footsteps rang crisply on the abandoned dock floor, each step firm and powerful. The sea breeze howled, brushing against his face, bringing a salty, fishy smell. His eyes were fixed on the man in black ahead, his mind filled with only one thought: catch up with him and uncover the secrets of the new drama.

After chasing for a while, the man in black suddenly disappeared into a dilapidated warehouse. Ling Yichen followed without hesitation. The warehouse was filled with a pungent musty smell, and dim light shone through holes in the roof, forming beams of light.

Ling Yichen moved cautiously through the warehouse, his eyes scanning the beams of light and shadows, searching for any trace of the man in black. Suddenly, he heard a slight noise coming from a corner of the warehouse. His heart tightened, and he warily walked towards the source of the sound.

As he approached the corner, he found the man in black crouching on the ground, seemingly searching for something. Hearing footsteps, the man in black turned around, and upon seeing Ling Yichen, a look of terror crossed his face.

"Don't come any closer!" the man in black said, his voice trembling with fear.

Ling Yichen ignored him and continued walking forward: "You know the secret of the new drama, don't you? Tell me!"

The man in black didn't answer, but suddenly picked something up from the ground and threw it at Ling Yichen. Ling Yichen quickly dodged to the side, and the object grazed his shoulder before hitting the wall next to him with a dull thud.
