Chapter 3 Knowing the Truth

Xingyue put away her goddess attire and transformed into an earthly woman. She had a graceful figure and a beautiful face as she walked among the people.

At this time, Xingyue was wearing a simple white dress, with long hair cascading down her back like a waterfall. Her eyes were as clear as water, as if she could see through everything. Her skin, as white as snow, exuded a faint fragrance, making people want to get close to her.

Xingyue walked through the dense forest. The grass beneath her feet felt like a green velvet carpet, soft and comfortable. The sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves, casting dappled shadows on her, as if she were covered in a mysterious veil.

Then she crossed a broad river, its waters crystal clear and shimmering. Xingyue treaded lightly across the water as if it were flat ground, her skirt dancing in the wind like a blooming lotus. The fish in the river swam happily, seemingly drawn to her beauty.

Finally, she arrived at a small town, but the scene before her made her feel worried.

Due to the demon tribe's reckless invasion, the once peaceful and tranquil town was reduced to ruins. Broken walls lay everywhere, houses collapsed, and the streets were filled with thick smoke and the pungent smell of blood. Panicked people fled in all directions like frightened birds, each face shrouded in deep fear and despair.

A flash of compassion flashed across Xingyue's beautiful eyes. Faced with this situation, she resolutely made up her mind to do her utmost to help these poor and innocent people.

Then, Xingyue silently cast a magical spell. In an instant, the pain of those seriously injured miraculously disappeared, and the shadow of fear lingering in their hearts also dissipated.

Thanks to Xingyue's subtle support, the people gradually regained their confidence and began rebuilding their homes. Working together with a single mind and a single strength, they methodically repaired the damaged houses and meticulously cleaned the tangled streets. Before long, the town regained its former vitality and prosperity.

"We sincerely thank the Goddess of Light for her great kindness!" When everything returned to normal, people, filled with gratitude, spontaneously flocked to the Temple of the Goddess of Light and devoutly lit incense to express their endless gratitude to the Goddess of Light for her protection.

At this moment, Xingyue, who was standing quietly in the bustling crowd, suddenly reached out and stopped a middle-aged man passing by. With a look of suspicion on her face, she asked, "Uncle, I've always had a question in my mind. Since we are all goddesses, why do you and the other villagers only choose to go to the Goddess Temple of Light to pay homage and express gratitude instead of going to the Goddess Temple of Darkness?"

The man responded calmly, without hesitation, "Girl, this question is self-evident! As everyone knows, the Goddess of Light is the supreme saint of the Temple of Light, shouldering the important task of spreading peace and light. Conversely, the Goddess of Darkness belongs to the Temple of Darkness, whose mission is to protect order and tranquility in the underworld. Therefore, the ones who can protect us in rebuilding our beautiful home must be none other than the God King of Light and his Goddesses!"

After he finished speaking, he did not dare to delay for even a moment. He hurriedly quickened his pace, closely following the people in front of him, and headed towards the temple of the Goddess of Light.

Hearing this, Xingyue couldn't help but gently shake her hazy head, as if trying to dispel the confusion in her mind. She stared at her hands, as if she had realized something, and fell into deep thought.

Recalling the fierce battle with the Demon King, she had unthinkingly summoned the mysterious sword instead of her usual Heavenly Demon Harp. A flicker of doubt flickered across Xingyue's clear, watery eyes. She had once questioned Qianye about this, but Qianye had simply dismissed it as a third-rate artifact, declaring the sword a humble, unremarkable artifact and warning her not to use it again.

Could it be that, as the Eastern Dark God King had said, her true identity was the legendary Goddess of Light? Xingyue pondered for a moment before resolutely making up her mind to return to the Dark Temple and demand a clear answer from Qianye in person.

In the Dark Temple, Qianye was surprised to see Xingyue arrive. "Xingyue, you're back? Could it be that... you've figured it out? Hahahaha! I told you a long time ago that Dong Ming is definitely not a good person! Now that you've come to your senses and returned to this Dark Temple, it's truly wonderful!"

However, facing Qianye's excited reaction, Xingyue seemed unusually calm. She went straight to the point and asked, "God King Qianye, please tell me about the divine sword." As she spoke, she stared at Qianye closely, her eyes firm and persistent.

Hearing this, Qianye's once bright eyes lowered slightly, as if he had something to hide, and he fell into a brief silence. He seemed to be engaged in a fierce struggle deep in his heart, struggling and agonizing over whether to tell Xingyue the truth.

But Xingyue didn't give up easily. She continued to ask, "God King Qianye, please tell me the truth. This matter is extremely important to me. I hope you won't hide it any longer."

Under Xingyue's persistent questioning, Qianye finally sighed and slowly said, "Forget it, since you are so determined to know, then I will tell you. That legendary sword is indeed a sacred object of the Temple of Light. Only the goddess who wields the power of light can summon it."

As soon as he finished speaking, Xingyue trembled violently as if struck by a bolt from the blue. Her face turned pale in an instant and her body began to shake uncontrollably.
