Chapter 37 Every Brother Likes

Chapter 37 Every Brother Likes

After riding horses around and around the horse farm until dusk, when the sky was filled with orange-red sunset, Mao Mao reluctantly followed her brothers off the horse.

She was incredibly energetic, seemingly tireless, and if it weren't for the approaching darkness, she would have wanted to stay on horseback and ride a few more laps.

Mao Mao opened her little arms, and Lou Fengju lifted her down. She leaned on her brother's shoulder, looked back at the horse, and asked with some lingering reluctance, "Brother, can't we ride anymore?"

"It's too late, riding a horse is too dangerous." Lou Fengju said, "Mao Mao wants to ride a horse, I'll take you next time."

Lou Hongjian had already dismounted and was leaning against the railing with a cup of red tea, waiting for them.

Hearing their words, he secretly gasped. He had only ridden for an hour and was already panting heavily; only his older brother could play with Mao Mao all day.

However, if he wants to dance, he can dance all night long.

"Don't mention horses. Aren't you all hungry?" He rubbed his stomach, looking distressed. "Riding a horse is too tiring. My stomach has been growling for a while now. The lunch here is terrible. We need to eat something better tonight."

Lou Fengju looked at him with amusement and mocked him, "If you insist on coming along, the only use you'll have is to eat."

No sooner had the words left his mouth than a rumbling sound from his stomach reached his ears.

The sound didn't come from Lou Hongjian's belly. The two looked in the direction of the sound and saw Mao Mao hugging her round little belly, looking embarrassed.

"Brother, my tummy is hungry."

Lou Hongjian's face immediately lit up with a smile: "Not just me, Mao Mao is hungry too. Big brother, why don't you take us to eat something delicious! Let's eat at Juhailou tonight!"

He then looked down at Mao Mao and said, "It's rare for our elder brother to treat us, so we have to make him pay big."

Lou Fengju smiled dismissively.

As a young marshal, he was quite different from his younger brother who was still receiving pocket money. He was very well-off, and even if Mao Mao specifically requested a Manchu Han Imperial Feast, he wouldn't hesitate.

Juhailou is a long-established restaurant in Haicheng, specializing in seafood. Fresh, lively seafood is delivered from Haicheng Wharf every day, and during mealtimes, it is always packed with customers, with long queues forming at the entrance.

When Lou Shaoshuai went out, there was no need to queue. As soon as the restaurant manager saw his face, he immediately squeezed out a private room.

Seeing that he was accompanied by the Third Young Master Lou, they knew he was dining with his family and wisely refrained from disturbing him. Instead, they went to great lengths to prepare the dishes, using only the highest quality seafood and bringing out all sorts of precious ingredients.

Mao Mao enjoyed a sumptuous seafood feast with her two older brothers, and her little belly was round and full.

She played all day and used up a lot of energy. Not only did she eat more than usual, but she also fell asleep earlier than usual.

Lou Fengju had originally planned to take her to see a late-night movie, but after dinner, she became drowsy in her brother's arms, her eyelids drooping. The group had no choice but to go home.

The car stopped in front of the mansion and beeped twice, which everyone in the house heard.

Xia Xiaoxiang came out to greet her daughter. On the second floor, Lou Yansui also pushed a wheelchair to the window.

He drew back the curtains and immediately saw Mao Mao being carried off the car by her older brother. The little girl was very sleepy, her cheek resting against her brother's shoulder, her limbs limp and helpless, like a delicate porcelain doll.

Lou Yansui saw that her elder brother said something to Mao Mao, and Mao Mao, trying to stay awake, opened her eyes and gave her elder brother a big kiss on the cheek, very affectionately. After kissing Lou Fengju, Lou Hongjian also came over to ask for a goodnight kiss. Mao Mao, of course, generously gave him a big kiss in return.

Lou Yansui pursed her lips, looking at the smiles on her two older brothers' faces, feeling a pang of jealousy in her heart.

Mao Mao went out to play with her eldest and third brothers all day, and probably didn't think about him at all.

Normally, Mao Mao would say goodnight to him. She definitely wasn't thinking of him right now.

Lou Yansui drew the curtains and pushed his wheelchair back to the bedside. Holding onto the edge of the bed, he used all his strength to lift himself up, dragging his two limp legs, and forcefully lifted himself onto the bed.

Such a simple action caused his back to be covered in sweat, with large beads of sweat rolling down his face and landing in his trembling hands.

He was panting heavily, looking angrily at his hands, which were trembling physiologically from exhaustion. His hands were clenched into fists, but he couldn't muster any strength at all. Just getting himself onto the bed had exhausted all his strength, and he didn't even have the energy to adjust his position. He could only lean awkwardly against the headboard.

Lou Yansui angrily pounded her fists on her powerless legs.

He stared at his awkwardly dangling legs as if he were looking at an enemy.

Just then, there was a gentle knock on the door.

"Brother." Mao Mao's sweet voice came through the crack in the door: "Brother, are you asleep?"

Lou Yansui suddenly came to her senses.

He grabbed the blanket from the bed and covered his legs with it.

Lou Yansui responded loudly, "I didn't, what's wrong? Mao Mao."

With a click, Mao Mao tiptoed and opened the door.

She poked her fluffy little head out from the outside: "Brother?"

Lou Yansui: "I'm here."

Mao Mao flashed a big smile, her round eyes crinkling with laughter. She came running in, carrying a large doll in her hands.

She handed him the doll: "Brother, here you go."

Lou Yansui was stunned.

Even after he received the doll, he was still a little taken aback. "For me?"

He stared blankly down at it. It was a cloth doll shaped like a pony, with two round eyes sewn on it, just like his sister's eyes.

"Mao Mao went to ride a big horse today!" Mao Mao said happily. "It's for my brother, he has a horse too."

"..."

Lou Yansui opened her mouth, tightened her grip on the doll, and looked at her soft little face, unable to say a word for a moment.

"Mao Mao, you still remember me?"

Mao Mao tilted her head in confusion: "Why would I forget my brother?"

"I thought... I thought that since you had your older brother and third brother to play with, you wouldn't want me anymore."

Why?

"..."

"Fourth brother tells stories, and Mao Mao likes them." Mao Mao puffed out her little belly, made a big circle with her little hand, and said proudly, "Every brother, Mao Mao... likes them all!"
