Chapter 4 Second Young Master Lou Heming
Xia Xiaoxiang's ability to become the fourth concubine of Marshal Lou must have been due to her special qualities.
Because she has a lovable little lucky star daughter.
Not long ago, Lou Dashuai was attacked on the road at night. Xia Xiaoxiang saved him, but it was Mao Mao who first discovered Lou Dashuai.
That night, Mao Mao was playing on her bed when she saw a figure flash past the window. She shouted for her mother, and Xia Xiaoxiang grabbed a kitchen knife and nervously went outside to see what was happening. She found the injured Lou Dashuai by the wall of her own yard.

When Lou Dashuai was giving a speech in the square, Xia Xiaoxiang watched from below. She recognized him and hid him in her house.
The pursuers walked in front of the door several times, but still couldn't find their target inside.
Later, Commander Lou sent his adjutant to ask her what she wanted.
Xia Xiaoxiang didn't ask for anything, she only asked if she could be the warlord's woman.

Lou Yansui paused, then looked at the bookshelf standing against the wall, a dozen steps away from the bed.
His expression remained unchanged: "Mao Mao, could you go get me a book?"
"OK."
Mao Mao crawled out of bed. The bed was a bit high, so she lay on the edge of the bed, stretched out one of her short legs and tentatively kicked it in mid-air before sliding down the edge of the bed.
"Brother, which one do you want?"
"The poetry collection on the second floor."
Mao Mao, who couldn't read, looked back at him blankly.
Lou Yansui immediately changed her tune: "The yellow one."
Mao Mao successfully found the yellow book on the second floor and happily ran back.
She first put the book on the bed, then climbed up using both hands and feet. After doing all this, she let out a long breath and leaned wearily against her brother.
This is a collection of foreign language poems. Lou Yansui reads the fluent English poems aloud in a gentle and soothing manner, as elegant as a piece of music.
Although Mao Mao couldn't understand it, she thought it sounded just as nice as the folk songs her mother sang to lull her to sleep, and she became completely absorbed in listening.
Then a voice came from the doorway: "Ah Sui, you mispronounced it."
Lou Yansui stopped and quickly looked back at the previous text. Sure enough, he had mispronounced a word in the previous line, and he immediately blushed.
"I'm sorry, Mao Mao, I mispronounced it." He corrected himself, pointed to the word he mispronounced, and read it again with the correct pronunciation.
Mao Mao looked blankly at him, completely bewildered.
She's only three and a half years old and can't read yet.
The person outside asked again, "Ah Sui, whose child is this?"
"Second Brother," Lou Yansui introduced him, "this is Mao Mao, our new little sister."
"younger sister?"
Mao Mao turned her head outside: "Brother?"
Standing outside the door was a man carrying a briefcase, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, with a gentle and refined demeanor, and dressed in a suit with an elegant air.
The Lou family has four young masters. Besides the eldest young master Lou Fengju and the fourth young master Lou Yansui, Mao Mao also has two older brothers whom she has not yet met.
Standing at the door at this moment is the second young master, Lou Heming.
Lou Heming works as a doctor at Renji Hospital. Yesterday, he had an operation that lasted until late at night, and didn't get home until very late, so he didn't run into the new girl.
Lou Heming had been watching from the doorway for a while before he spoke up to remind him. He was on his way to work when he heard the sound of his younger brother reading aloud coming from his room.
After the accident, Lou Yansui refused to let anyone get close to her, and even stopped contacting her former friends. But now she was leaning close to a little girl and reading to her, which was simply unbelievable.
According to him, it's his younger sister?
Lou Heming sized up the new little sister several times, but didn't ask any questions. He simply said gently, "A-Sui, she's so young. She won't understand if you read poems to her. I heard that someone recently translated a foreign children's book. Would you like me to buy it for you?"
"Fairy tale books?"
Lou Yansui glanced down at Mao Mao, who was leaning obediently against him, and readily agreed, "Then I'll trouble you, Second Brother."
"I'll bring it back to you after I get off work," Lou Heming said.
He glanced at his watch; time was running out, so he had no choice but to regretfully head to work.
Before leaving the house, he asked the maid, "Who is that new child?"
“She’s the young lady who came with the fourth concubine,” the maid said. “Yesterday, the eldest young master even gave her a bullet.”
"bullet?"
Lou Heming pushed up his glasses, his curiosity growing stronger.
He recalled the little girl he had just seen; she had a round face and round eyes, a fair and tender little dumpling—truly adorable. He wanted to learn more about her, but unfortunately, he had to rush out before they could exchange more than a few words.
The clattering sound came from the mahjong room; the concubines were playing mahjong with the newly arrived fourth concubine.
"bump!"
The third concubine pushed the mahjong tiles over, beaming with joy, and exclaimed, "I won again!"
Xia Xiaoxiang looked at the card table in front of her, clutched her empty wallet, and pursed her lips.
