Chapter 279 Why Don't You Turn into a Puppy?

Chapter 279 Why Don't You Turn into a Puppy?

Red brick villa.

Mao Mao's friend, Sophie, came to visit with her father.

When guests arrived, and the person opposite them was of high status, as the head of the family, Lou Dashuai was called out from his study and sat on the sofa with Mr. Langdon, looking at each other.

As the French envoy and the highest-ranking diplomatic representative, Mr. Langdon represented the French Prime Minister in diplomatic and political activities in their country. Meanwhile, as the powerful figure in the three eastern provinces, Commander Lou had met and interacted with Mr. Langdon several times at conferences.

But he never expected that one day the two of them would sit together over something unrelated to politics.

He had already heard Mr. Langdon recount how the two little girls became friends.

When Lou Dashuai heard Mao Mao suggest that the girl find a new father, Lou Dashuai's face twitched. Fortunately, his beard concealed his complex emotions from Mr. Langdon.

"Hehe." Commander Lou personally poured a cup of tea for someone and dryly urged, "Drink tea, drink."

As he spoke, he picked up his teacup and took a big gulp.

Mao Mao!!!

You're the one who keeps finding new dads for yourself, but why are you introducing new dads to other kids too?!

Even though Commander Lou had seen many storms, he felt somewhat insecure at this moment and didn't know where to begin.

Apologize? My daughter helped your daughter find a new father?

Or should I just ignore it? Actually, you're not the first one.

Commander Lou: "..."

Lou Dashuai took another big gulp of tea.

Mao Mao!!!

Commander Lou picked up the teapot and poured tea into the other person's cup: "Drink tea, drink."

Where is the culprit, Mao Mao?

Mao Mao is warmly welcoming her friends.

Just as Sophie introduced her best friend Annie to her, Annie also introduced her favorite kitchen to Sophie.

The two children held hands and ran to the kitchen together as soon as they entered the house.

In the kitchen, the chef and maid were busy at work.

Mao Mao and Su Fei each had a small stool and held a small plate, sitting side by side by the stove.

The chef cooked a dish, skillfully scooped up a spoonful, and put a little into their plates. Mao Mao also skillfully helped the chef taste the food, and her little tufts of hair swayed happily as she ate the delicious food.

Sophie held the plate, looking at the steaming food on it, feeling somewhat uneasy.

“This isn’t a restaurant, and it’s not dinner time yet,” she said. “Mao Mao, we can’t eat here.”

"Huh?" Mao Mao's little face was chubby from eating, and her eyes were wide open: "Why not?"

“Etiquette,” Sophie whispered. “We have to wait for the adults to start before we can eat. Oh, and there’s table manners.”

What is etiquette?

"It's a matter of politeness."

After thinking for a moment, Mao Mao obediently raised her little head and said to the chef, "Uncle, thank you for cooking for Mao Mao. Your food is delicious."

The chef was cooking with great enthusiasm: "You're welcome, miss, please have more."

"Um!"

Mao Mao lowered her head and continued to enjoy her meal.

Sophie: "..."

She looked around, but there were people coming and going in the kitchen, and no one objected to Mao Mao's behavior. In fact, after the chef cooked the new dish, he added a small spoonful to both of their plates.

The aroma of food was right in front of her nose, and there was a girl named Mao Mao eating with great relish next to her. Sophie hesitated for a moment, then clumsily picked up a piece of meat with her chopsticks and carefully put it into her mouth.

No one stopped her until she finished eating and swallowed the food in small bites.

While eating, Mao Mao earnestly shared her experience with her: "You can only eat a little bit of each dish, just to taste the flavor. You can't eat until you're full, otherwise you won't be able to eat dinner."

"Food tastes better when eaten together. We should eat with Mom and the others, and then we can eat as much as we want!"

"Eating sweet and salty things together will prevent them from becoming too cloying."

"Eat the meat and rice first, then drink the soup last, so you can eat more..."

Huh?

Did some strange experience slip in?

When Xia Xiaoxiang came to grab her daughter, she saw the two little dumplings sitting in a row drinking juice, their little faces slurping until they were round and plump.

Xia Xiaoxiang put her hands on her hips: "Mao Mao, you've come to the kitchen to steal food again!"

Sophie was startled and quickly put down her cup, saying, "I'm sorry."

Mao Mao happily called out to her, "Mother."

"I told you to entertain the guests, why did you invite them into the kitchen?" Xia Xiaoxiang wiped the sauce from her mouth with a handkerchief. "Be careful you won't be able to eat dinner."

Mao Mao patted her round little belly and said confidently, "Mao Mao can eat it all."

Xia Xiaoxiang: "..."

Xia Xiaoxiang took one child in each hand and led them outside.

Sophie looked at them, puzzled.

She looked at Mao Mao, then at Xia Xiaoxiang, and even after seeing her father, her head was still spinning.

“Sophie,” Mr. Langdon said gently, lifting her onto his lap, “did you have fun playing with your friends?”

Sophie nodded gently.

Nodding wasn't enough for her; she added, "I'm so happy, Daddy."

"That's good." Mr. Langdon chuckled. "I suppose she hasn't tried to persuade you to get a different father yet?"

Commander Lou: "..."

Commander Lou: "Have some tea, have some."

Mao Mao sat in her father's lap, staring intently at the minister on the opposite sofa.

Mr. Langdon has blond hair as bright as the sun and eyes as blue as the sky. Actually, he looks a bit like Sophie, but Mao Mao didn't recognize him.

Mr. Langdon also noticed the way the little girl across from him was looking at him.

He certainly wouldn't argue with a four-year-old child.

He smiled at Mao Mao in a friendly manner and said, "Hello."

Mao Mao blinked her eyes: "Uncle, are you really Sophie's ex-father?"

Mr. Langdon: "...Of course."

He couldn't help but add, "There is no new dad, and I am not the old dad either. Sophie only has one dad."

Mao Mao asked in confusion, "But why can't you turn into a puppy?"

Mr. Langdon: "A puppy?"

The big golden retriever lying next to him straightened up: "Woof!"

"My mom said that people who don't keep their promises will turn into little dogs." Mao Mao looked at the big golden retriever next to her in confusion: "Sophie, isn't this your dad?"

Golden Retriever: "Woof woof!"

Sophie looked completely bewildered: "My dad is a human, and Luna is a dog."

The two little girls faced each other, looking completely bewildered, unable to make sense of the dog's story.

Xia Xiaoxiang: "..."

Feeling the gazes of the other ladies, Xia Xiaoxiang followed her daughter's example, looking up at the sky and down at the ground, and staring intently at the vase decorations beside her.

"People who break their promises turn into puppies? Is that a folk tale from your area?" Mr. Langdon said with interest. "How interesting. I've only ever heard that liars' noses grow longer."

Mao Mao looked at him intently for a while longer.

She nodded firmly: "Uncle, your nose isn't long either."

Mr. Langdon laughed heartily.

"Then why didn't you take Sophie out to play?"

Mao Mao said, puzzled, "You already agreed with her."

Mr. Langdon's laughter stopped abruptly.

etc.

That dog that doesn't keep its word is him.
