Chapter 36 Qiqi is kidnapped

Lanling City is truly bustling! The streets are teeming with people, selling snacks and treats, cosmetics, beaded bracelets, and even street performers...

Tang Qiqi looked on greedily, realizing that this was what ancient streets looked like.

Erzhu patted Tang Qiqi's head and asked, "Qiqi, what do you want to eat? Uncle will buy it for you."

"Qiqi wants a sugar figurine!" Tang Qiqi said without hesitation.

Erzhuzi got off the carriage, led the horse by the hand, and squeezed to the sugar figurine stall to buy a sugar figurine for Tang Qiqi.

"Uncle Zhu, I want a dragon!" Tang Qiqi shouted from the carriage!

"Alright!" Erzhu laughed heartily.

Suddenly, for some unknown reason, the crowd became restless, turning the already crowded street into chaos. Erzhuzi, holding the reins tightly with one hand and protecting the sugar figurine with the other, tried to get back to the carriage.

But when he looked up, Tang Qiqi was nowhere to be seen!

Erzhuzi was terrified and lost the sugar figurine, searching everywhere for the child.

But everyone was pushing and shoving, there wasn't a single gap in the crowd, so where could we find Qiqi?

Erzhuzi wandered aimlessly through the crowd like a headless fly, causing a ruckus for a long time. Only when the crowd gradually dispersed could he see his surroundings clearly, and Tang Qiqi had long since disappeared.

Erzhuzi was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan, tirelessly calling Tang Qiqi's name and searching back and forth four or five times, but to no avail.

He would ask everyone he met, "Have you seen a little girl this tall with two buns on her head?"

Everyone shook their heads. A kind person told him, "He's only three years old. He must have been kidnapped in the chaos. Some people specialize in stealing children, breaking their legs, and disfiguring them so they can beg!"

Erzhuzi was so distressed that he burst into tears. He asked, "Where have all these people who stole the child gone? I must find the child!"

The kind-hearted person looked at him with sympathy and said, "There's no way to be sure. Since they stole the child, they must have hidden her somewhere that no one can find. After ten days or half a month, when they've tortured the child so much that even her own mother wouldn't recognize her, they'll release her to beg."

"Then I'll report it to the authorities!" Erzhuzi said. "Let the government help me find my children! Surely the officials can find them!"

The person next to him looked Erzhuzi up and down and told him, "Don't bother. There are so many cases, big and small, in Lanling City every day. How can the officials investigate them all? Even if someone is willing to help you, by the time your case is assigned, it's not certain whether the child will still be alive!"

Erzhuzi grew increasingly anxious as he listened. According to them, Qiqi was definitely not going to be found. She was just a little girl; if she encountered bad people, she would be bullied to death.

Besides, without Qiqi, how would he explain it to Xu Lanzhi and Wang Shi?

Erzhuzi's mind went blank. He kept pounding his head, blaming himself for not holding Qiqi in his arms the whole time. If he couldn't find Qiqi, he wouldn't have the face to live anymore.

An old man selling sesame cakes nearby saw Erzhuzi's pitiful state and comforted him, saying, "Don't get too upset. It was a bit chaotic just now. If the child was just separated from you, and a kind person found him, they might bring him back to you."

These words gave Erzhuzi a glimmer of hope, and he calmed down. Although Qiqi was young, she was very clever. Even if she really encountered bad people, she could find a way to escape.

He couldn't afford to lose his composure now, so after careful consideration, he decided to find Qiqi himself.

He would tell everyone he met, "Please, if you see a lost little girl who is two or three years old, tell her that I wait for her at the foot of the city wall every night!"

Qiqi was watching with delight as Erzhuzi chose a majestic and powerful dragon dance for her.

Suddenly, someone grabbed her by the back of her clothes and pulled her out of the car. Tang Qiqi shouted loudly, "Uncle Zhu, Uncle Zhu, save me!"

But suddenly, so many people appeared out of nowhere, and her voice was completely drowned out by the crowd.

Someone stuffed a rag into her mouth, threw her into a sack, slung her over their shoulder, and left.

Tang Qiqi struggled desperately, but with his small arms and legs, it was like being tickled.

She didn't know how much time had passed when she felt herself being thrown heavily onto the ground, her bottom throbbing painfully.

But the man didn't seem to want to let her out. She was almost suffocating in the small bag, so she quickly took out a knife from her spatial storage and tried to cut the sack open.

But she couldn't use any strength in her hand at all. After struggling for a long time, she finally managed to make a small cut.

She peered through the opening, but it was pitch black all around, and there wasn't a sound.

She fiddled around for a while before finally crawling out of the sack.

She took out a flashlight and shone it around, and found a six or seven-year-old boy in the corner. His eyes were closed, and judging from his clothes, he didn't seem to be a child from an ordinary family.

Seeing his pale face, Tang Qiqi went over and nudged him, "Little boy, little boy, are you still alive?"

The man remained motionless. Tang Qiqi placed her hand under his nose to check: "Thank goodness, he's still breathing. You're really lucky to have met me."

As Tang Qiqi spoke, she took out an amoxicillin capsule and was about to put it into the man's mouth.

Tang Qiqi doesn't know much about medicine, but in this day and age, it's no exaggeration to call an antibiotic a magic pill. If there's inflammation in the body, taking one will guarantee a cure.

Unexpectedly, the boy's jaw remained clenched. Tang Qiqi thought that they were both in the same boat and that saving a life was better than building a seven-story pagoda, so she stood on tiptoe and tried to pry the boy's mouth open.

Unexpectedly, the boy suddenly exerted force and pushed Tang Qiqi aside.

Tang Qiqi fell flat on her face. She was furious. She scrambled to her feet and pointed at the boy, yelling, "You're like a dog biting Lü Dongbin! You don't appreciate kindness. I was kindly feeding you medicine, and you pushed me! You have no manners at all!"

Unexpectedly, the boy didn't even glance at Tang Qiqi, and then closed his eyes as if nothing had happened.

Tang Qiqi couldn't stand this humiliation, so she clenched her little fists and went over aggressively.

When it comes to people, Tang Qiqi has never lost. She has courage and strategy; she'll use her fists, kicks, and bites—whatever's convenient for her. This sickly guy is definitely going to be taught a lesson by Tang Qiqi.

A moment later, Tang Qiqi sat on the ground and burst into tears: "How could you bully a child? I've never been hit by anyone except my mother in my entire life!"

Tang Qiqi cried as she glanced at the boy. He closed his eyes again, and Tang Qiqi realized that he was actually meditating.

It's infuriating! Tang Qiqi has never suffered such humiliation before. She tried so hard to touch the boy but couldn't even get a single touch.

He dodged all my attacks without even opening his eyes. Could this be the legendary martial arts master?

Since she can't win, Tang Qiqi should just behave like a three-year-old child.

Then the sound of crying "waaaaaah" came from the room again.
