To ensure that the film crew could truly learn more about Mingshan Ancient Town, Director Gu, though unable to come in person, thoughtfully arranged a tour guide for them.
It was during the tour guide's introduction that Song Mengmeng, unusually, developed a bit of interest in this ancient town that they hadn't yet visited.
"Actually, Mingshan Ancient Town is a tourism project that has only been developed in recent years. The town is not most famous for its local scenery, but for its unique culture."
Because, in the past, most of the businesses in Mingshan Ancient Town were related to the funeral industry!
This town was originally known as 'Mingshan Ancient Town'.
With a touch of mystery, the tour guide recounted the history of Mingshan Ancient Town in a way that was exceptionally dramatic, full of twists and turns.
Even many of the more timid assistants and actors turned pale with fright and seemed too scared to listen any further.
After listening for a while, Yao Anna couldn't help but turn her head and whisper in Song Mengmeng's ear, "Do you think what the tour guide said is true?!"
"I don't know, we'll have to go to the town to find out."
Song Mengmeng shook her head. Before arriving at that so-called ancient town, any answer to this question would be mere speculation.
Perhaps because it had rained in the middle of the night, the sky looked somewhat hazy.
The bus drove along the mountain road. Looking out the closed windows, the scenery outside resembled a splashed-ink landscape painting, a tranquil scene with just the right balance of light and dark, incomparable to the hustle and bustle of the city.
"After passing through one more tunnel, we will reach the end of our journey, Mingshan Ancient Town!"
Before entering the town, I must first explain the rules for entering Mingshan Ancient Town to all our distinguished guests. Please be sure to abide by them! If anything goes wrong because of violating these rules, we cannot be held responsible.
As the tour guide spoke, the bus simultaneously plunged into the dark tunnel.
With a gasp, darkness seemed to rush in, carrying the chilling atmosphere unique to tunnels, making the tour guide's words sound eerie and unsettling.
"It's best not to go out after 10 p.m.
If you absolutely must walk on the street, please be sure to stay on either side and do not block the middle of the road. There's a legend in Mingshan Ancient Town that after nightfall, the road is no longer fit for human traffic!
So if you absolutely must use the road at that time, please walk on the side of the road and do not block other people's way!
Furthermore, if you encounter red envelopes or coins on the road, please do not pick them up! Because according to the customs of Mingshan Ancient Town, these are tokens for ghost marriages!
Once you choose to pick up those items, it means you agree to the marriage!
The tour guide spoke earnestly, but everyone listening couldn't help but burst into uncontrollable laughter.
These days, in order to expand the tourism industry, all regions are going to great lengths to attract tourists! And folk culture is one of the most marketable gimmicks.
So now, all sorts of ancient towns are springing up like mushrooms after rain, some focusing on wine culture, others on tea culture, and still others on various minority democratic cultures; but this town is actually using this kind of eerie, sinister thing to promote itself…
That's quite unique.
Clearly, none of the people sitting on the bus took the tour guide's instructions to heart, even after he repeated them twice more; all he got in return was even more unrestrained laughter from the passengers.
Seeing that it was becoming increasingly difficult to persuade these people to stay, the tour guide simply said, "Take care of yourselves," and said no more.
"This tunnel is incredibly long!" While everyone around was discussing where to go in town later, Song Mengmeng suddenly spoke up, showing a rare interest in the tunnel that seemed to have no end in sight.
"This tunnel is the only passage into Mingshan Ancient Town, and it is more than three kilometers long! It was built by carving through the entire Mingshan Mountain!"
Before this tunnel was completed, Mingshan Ancient Town was almost completely isolated from the outside world.
Those inside who want to get out have to cross Mingshun Mountain, but the mountain is rugged and steep, and it's not easy to get out!
However, after the tunnel was built, all these problems were naturally solved! Now, the people of Mingshan Ancient Town can go out to work, and tourists can easily visit Mingshan Ancient Town to experience its unique local customs and culture.
Upon hearing Song Mengmeng's question, the tour guide quickly provided an answer. After the long darkness, light finally appeared ahead, and soon the bus burst out of the tunnel, heading towards Mingshan Ancient Town, nestled in a valley surrounded by mountains.
Because all the accommodations had been arranged in advance, Song Mengmeng and her group of more than ten people did not take any detours and went directly to the guesthouse they had booked in advance to check into their respective rooms.
This wasn't Song Mengmeng's first time visiting such an ancient town. They had come to this town together during their last filming trip. So, when Yao Anna came to this similar wooden stilted building again, she couldn't help but compare it to the town she had stayed in before.
The conclusion is, almost!
They are indeed quite similar.
However, compared to the environment of the previous town, Mingshan Ancient Town is obviously much more rustic! Although there are obvious signs of renovation in the houses, the structure shows that they are not completely new!
In other words, the architectural style here did exist a long time ago.
