Pushing open the door, a European-style room comes into view.
A leather sofa is placed around a walnut coffee table, and a soft wool blanket is draped over the sofa.
However, the room had a slightly eerie atmosphere.
Yan Ning saw it immediately: a transparent woman and a child sitting on the bed, looking up at them.
The woman chuckled softly, "Wow, someone's here, it's a little girl!"
The child pouted, "She's the one who stole our room, isn't she? She's a bad girl! I don't like her!"
Yan Ning's eyes darkened slightly as she sat down on the sofa and softly thanked Aunt Chen, "Thank you for your trouble, Aunt Chen."
Aunt Chen smiled and waved her hand, saying, "No trouble at all, it's my duty."
She narrowed her eyes, took two steps closer, and then changed the subject:
"Miss has just returned from the countryside, so she probably doesn't know the rules of the house yet. The Su family is a top-notch family, and there are some rules and etiquette that she will have to learn from me."
Yan Ning raised an eyebrow and said with a smile, "Really? Then Aunt Chen, tell me what the rules are."
Aunt Chen curled the corners of her lips and said in an impolite tone, "Miss, I'm sorry to offend you."
After saying that, she stepped forward, picked up Yan Ning's canvas bag, and emptied out all the contents.
Several talismans and an ancient book were thrown on the ground. Aunt Chen picked up the "Tao Te Ching" from the ground, sneered, and said:
“Young Miss, the first rule of the Su family is not to bring random things home. I’ve taken care of all your incongruous items.”
After saying that, she raised her hand to throw the book in her hand into the trash can.
The woman on the bed looked on with amusement. "Wow, such a show as soon as we entered the room! Let's bet on who will win!"
The child blinked. "I bet the old woman will win. She doesn't look like someone to mess with."
Yan Ning stood up, her eyes instantly sharpening as she coldly swept her gaze over Aunt Chen.
Aunt Chen was intimidated by Yan Ning's sharp gaze.
The action of throwing the book was delayed by a second.
Yan Ning rushed forward and snatched the Tao Te Ching from Aunt Chen's hands.
She touched the surface of the book, then solemnly placed it on the table. Aunt Chen immediately became dissatisfied and started shouting:
"Young Miss, what are you doing! I'm throwing this book away today!"
"Smack!"
No sooner had she finished speaking than a loud slap landed on Aunt Chen's face.
Aunt Chen covered her cheek, utterly shocked, and exclaimed, "You, you actually hit me! Neither the master nor the mistress has ever hit me!"
