Chapter 47 Conflicting Accounts? Who's Lying?

Yan Ning said in a deep voice, "Take me to the mountain that my grandmother climbed back then."

Bai Yuzhen hesitated, "Are you really going? I was planning to take you home for a nice meal today, but we didn't get to eat well and this happened."

Bai Shanhe shed tears and said remorsefully, "I was wrong back then. I shouldn't have let her go alone."

“I’m partly responsible for her death. Let her torment me; I haven’t had a moment of peace all these years…”

Yan Ning continued, "It's alright, Grandma. Just tell me the location, and I'll know the truth as soon as I take a look. Trust me."

A complex emotion flashed in Bai Shanhe's eyes, but she still told Yan Ning the exact address of the mountain.

Her voice was somewhat low, with a hint of vicissitude: "That mountain is called Baishi Mountain. It's quite far from here, more than an hour's drive away."

"Although that place has been developed quite a bit now, some parts are still quite desolate."

After obtaining the address, Bai Yuzhen immediately drove Yan Ning to the mountain.

Before setting off, Yan Ning took two hard-boiled eggs and rolled them around Bai Shanhe's waist a few times, absorbing some of the yin energy from her body.

The mountain path winds and twists, and occasionally you can see some wildflowers and grasses swaying in the wind.

Bai Yuzhen parked the car at the foot of the mountain, turned to look at Yan Ning, and her eyes showed a hint of worry:

"Are we really going? So much time has passed, the truth of what happened back then will definitely be hard to find..."

Yan Ning smiled, her eyes revealing determination and confidence:

"Auntie, have you forgotten? I've lived in the mountains since I was a child. Climbing mountains is as easy for me as eating."

"This mountain isn't much compared to Green Mountain. You wait here for me, I'll be right back."

Bai Yu nodded and said, "Okay, then be careful. If you encounter any danger, come back immediately."

She took a backpack out of the car and handed it to Yan Ning, saying, "There's water, some dry food, and a power bank in here. Take it with you."

Yan Ning took the backpack, slung it over her shoulder, and gave Bai Yuzhen a thumbs-up.

"Don't worry, I'll be fine."

After saying that, she opened the car door and sped into the forest.
