Chapter 86: You kicked over someone's offerings, and now you think you can just walk away?

In the dead silence, Yan Ning frowned, staring at the glaring bloody handprint, then looked at the terrified Su Muyao.

She suddenly spoke in a deep voice, not loud, but like a hammer striking everyone's heart:

"Su Muyao, tell me honestly, did you do something you shouldn't have just done?"

Su Muyao was overwhelmed by fear when she was suddenly asked this question. Her mind went blank, and she subconsciously retorted:

"What did I do? I didn't do anything! I was just sleeping in the tent!"

Upon hearing this, everyone looked at Su Muyao with suspicion, wondering what mischief she had gotten herself into this time.

Yan Ning's gaze was sharp as a knife, never wavering:

"Really? Nothing at all? Like, on the way here?"

Everyone's hearts were in their throats.

"Then, I accidentally... stepped on a slightly collapsed old tombstone..."

Su Muyao's voice trailed off as she spoke, her head bowing lower and lower, "There seemed to be some fruit on top... I kicked it over, and it rolled all over the floor..."

She swallowed a mouthful of saliva that wasn't actually in her mouth; immense fear made her voice tremble.

"I was really scared at the time, I felt terrified... so I ran away as fast as I could without even looking back..."

After listening, Yan Ning sighed with a sense of "I knew it," and his gaze returned to the increasingly eerie bloody handprint. His voice was low and somber:

"They kicked over someone's offerings, didn't even apologize, and just walked away..."

She paused, her voice carrying a hint of coldness, "Now look what's happened, the host family has come to you personally to have a chat."
