Chapter 103: Go Forth and Suffer

"Kill her," Almeru wanted Ava to die. No. He needed her to die.

He now understood that Ava wasn’t just any witch that Matthew had been fucking. The woman was important to Matthew’s life!

"I need to inform the King about this— "

SCREECCCHHHH

Almeru and Aira almost hit their heads at the car’s sudden stop.

"What the fuck was that?" Almeru asked. "Hey! Answer me!" Almeru’s face darkened when he noticed that the driver was no longer speaking. He looked at the car in front and behind them and growled.

All of his men... were sleeping.

"What was that?" Aira’s voice shook. She too must have noticed the peculiarities.

"Don’t get out..." Almeru said as he slid out of the car. "Call someone..." he said.

"No reception."

Almeru snorted. It was just as he expected.

He closed the door and looked at the trees that lined the streets. If this was Ava then she was a fool thinking that Almeru would not kill her just because they were still near Matthew’s mansion.

"Show yourself... witch!" Almeru said. ƒгeewёbnovel.com

"Almeru..." Ava smiled at him. She was standing just a few meters away from their car. She stood next to the tree. The darkness covered almost half of her face. But the smile on her face was especially recognizable.

"Why did you stop the car?" Almeru asked. "Did you really think you can bully me and my people?"

"Bully?" the woman lifted her slim eyebrows just as a cold breeze made its presence. Now that Almeru thought about it, Ava was not wearing any coat. She was wearing what looked like a long white dress. Her lips were... red. A complete contrast to her pale skin. "I don’t bully people."

"Then why did you stop my car?"

"I didn’t stop your car," Ava said.

"What?" Realization hit Almeru’s face. "Illusion!"

"Bingo!"

"You— how?" Almeru knew that stronger witches could cast illusions but it would take at least two or three witches to cast one. Moreover, the witches were vulnerable while doing the illusion. Meaning, if someone would kill their body— their physical bodies— they would die.

"If I tell you... I will have to kill you."

Almeru narrowed his eyes, his fist was balled tightly. Earlier, he felt confident that he could kill Ava. But this? This illusion was akin to a wake-up call.

The witch was indeed powerful. And she could easily kill him inside this illusion.

"What do you want?" Almeru said. Again, anger boiled inside him. "Was it not enough? You already ruined my sister’s life!" Earlier, Almeru talked to his raging father who also received the images that Matthew sent. His father wanted to send Aira to become Drigo’s mistress.

However, Drigo already has more than five of those people!

How could he send Aira to a wolf’s den?

Almeru argued. Aira might be stubborn but she was his sister, his twin fucking sister!

How could he send her to a person like Drigo?

"Oh... please..." Ava dramatically rolled her eyes. "The number of assassins that you sent to kill me were enough to ruin me. It just so happened that I have... " Ava smiled. "A strong backing."

"You— " the woman was mocking him! She was shamelessly using Matthew in front of Almeru. "I am going to kill you and hmmm."

"Kill what?" Ava smirked when Almeru realized that... his mouth vanished! What the fuck?

Then he remembered that this was Ava’s illusion. Meaning, this was all inside his fucking head!

This is akin to Ava’s domain and she could do everything that she want inside this place. Yes. Everything, including zipping his mouth- literally.

"Gosh... I know that you hated witches so much because a witch killed your mother but..." Ava frowned. It was as if she was unimpressed by the things that he did in the past. "Why kill innocent witches?"

"Hmmm?"

"I know it. Matthew had your files." Ava said. "I saw the number of witch slaves that you have inside your castle. One mistake and you kill them, no?"

Almeru frowned. Those witches were born and raised to serve him! They were slaves who were born to serve someone. It just happens that those women were born in the de Cene walls.

What was wrong with making them serve him?

Almeru didn’t see anything wrong with using those women. In this life, weaker species will always suffer at the mercy of stronger species. Was that wrong?

Of course not!

This was normal!

The strong will rule the weak!

"See? I can sense the disgust in those eyes... should I just remove them?"

"Hmmm! Hmmm!" Almeru wanted to curse when he felt his gaze turn blurry.

"Kidding!" Ava said almost cheerfully. The woman was beaming and was now sitting in a wooden chair. She was... drinking what looked like milk. "I wanted to ask you to let them go. Let those women go." Ava said. "But I knew it would be useless. Those women were brainwashed at such a young age. They were taught to serve and protect the de Cene family."

"Grrrr..." the world inside Almeru howled in anger. He could feel it. He could feel his nails turn sharper, his skin slowly ripping. Was he going to transform inside an illusion?

That—

Almeru hadn’t transformed before.

It was because he didn’t have a mate.

Transforming without a mate would mean that he would lose his sanity and the only one who could save him... was his mate.

And since he doesn’t have one... transforming would be akin to a death sentence.

"How about this..." Ava said. "I will let your wolf out."

What?

Almeru couldn’t believe it. Letting his wolf out? What the fuck is the witch doing? Most witches would bind a Lycan’s witch, and separate it from the Lycan’s physical body. This would immediately make the Lycan weaker and would cause immense pain. Letting the wolf out is the exact opposite.

It was ... as if she was forcing him to go berserk!

"Hmmm!"

"You think I can’t do that?" Ava smiled.

In response, Almeru shook his head as if his life depended on it.

"Are you underestimating me?

Again Almeru shook his head. On the contrary, his wolf was agitated because it knew that it couldn’t do anything inside this illusion.

How the hell did Matthew find such a strong witch?

Almeru couldn’t understand one thing.

Matthew hated witches. Everyone was aware of this. Then he suddenly took a witch, a powerful one at that!

Why?

Almeru’s eyes widened when he realized something.

Was It possible that Matthew wanted to kill his enemies? Was it possible that he wanted to rebel against the current King?

He shivered.

It was as if he just found out a great... great secret!

"You look scared Almeru de Cene..." Ava said. "It makes me wonder if you were aware of what was going to happen to you." Ava leaned back. "If you don’t then... let me tell you."

Ava continued. "You grew up thinking you are better than everyone else. You grew up thinking you are above witches and other shifters. But you are nothing. You are just someone who was born in a prominent family. You raped, bullied, and killed witches when you were not in a good mood. You killed humans and abused your Lycan partners. You are just trash. You are a piece of shit who’s waiting to be killed."

Almeru’s pupils shook. He didn’t know where Ava got her information but... these were things that he did in the past.

"But I am not going to kill you," Ava said. "Matthew told me not to."

"No," Ava added. "You will stay inside this place with nothing but your wolf. You will transform into one... inside my illusion. Your mind will snap in the very place that was owned by the person that you loathe. You will suffer from your first transformation. Your real body would feel the pain. It would bleed and heal and bleed and heal. Then you will wake up from the illusion."

Almeru felt his blood rush to his head. His heart... drummed against his chest. Was the woman... cursing him?

No. That cannot be.

"You will forget everything that happened here," Ava said. "But the pain of your transformation will haunt your dreams. It will haunt your nights. Pain will become your new... friend."

"Hmmm..."

"Hmmm..."

"Hmmm..."

"And every time someone would want to help you... your bones will break. It would break and heal and break and heal until that someone would stay away from you. Recalling what happened here will be the end of you." Ava smiled at him. "Remember... the moment you remember what happened will be the day you die. "

"Hmmm!" It was the curse of death! Almeru struggled. A curse of death is something that a witch can do in exchange for something very important to the caster. It was said that a caster needed to sacrifice a few years of their lives to be able to cast one!

What the hell is wrong with this woman?

"That is the punishment that you will receive for all the lives that you wasted, for all the hearts that you broke, for all the witches that begged you. Now go forth... and suffer...." Ava smiled at him.
