"While that is actually right, I don’t think your past circumstances gave you the right to even have tea with someone from the Royal Family," Ulva’s cold voice came from behind Ava. Of course, Ava already sensed her presence earlier and that was the reason why she said those words louder.
"In fact, your past circumstances do not entitle you to receive good things in life. Your past had nothing to do with your future." Ulva continued. She then bowed at the Princess. "Your Highness..."
"Priestess," Francheska smiled. "What brings you here?"
"As you know, every witch is stumped with work because of the upcoming event. Tonight, the guests will start to arrive and we needed to finish a few things, final touches here and there."
"Is that so?"
"Yes, your highness. In fact, Miss Woods here can attest to that. I personally came to her quarters early in the morning to ask for her help."
"Oh? Then— "
"I hope I am not interrupting something important but she needed to come with me now."
"No. You are not interrupting something."
"Good. Thank you, your highness." Again, Ulva bowed before she looked at Ava. "Shall we?"
"Actually, I think I need to go... "
"You are going with me," Ulva interrupted her.
Hearing this, Ava responded with a smile. "Very well." Ava then looked at the Princess. "Thank you so much for the tea, your highness."
Then Ulva and her left the garden.
"You know— "
**SWOOSH**
Ava stopped talking when a heavy wind suddenly wrapped around her body, from her feet to her neck, preventing her from moving. Then it lifted her into the air.
"Do not... do that again!"
Ava frowned.
"You actually attacked me," Ava stated.
"What made you think that I would not hurt you?"
"I know you would hurt me but— I didn’t think you would do it when you are in front of me. I knew you would be the sneaky type."
"You— " Ulva held her palm, lifting Ava higher into the air. She narrowed her eyes at Ava. "Did you really think that you are safe when Matthew is not here?"
"Of course," Ava responded. "After all, I can just tell him everything when he is back."
"Now, I don’t know what made you so confident knowing you couldn’t even grow a damn flower out of nowhere. But this is not a place for you to do whatever it is that you want!"
"Is that so?" Ava only smiled in response.
"That is so! Today, I am not going to hurt you. This shall serve as your warning! Don’t you dare do something like that again!"
"Or what?" Ava snorted.
"Or I will give you something that would make you wish you are dead!" Then Ulva extended her hand and held Ava’s forehead. Almost immediately, a sight invaded Ava’s head.
It was... It was her brother!
The sight looked like it came from someone that is currently watching over Phil.
"I heard your brother had been suffering and that your sister-in-law was still in a state of comatose after an unfortunate accident."
"You— " Ava could feel the blood drain from her face.
"Who do you think would take care of their child once... they were gone."
"Don’t you dare touch, Gabi!"
"Oh... My... Ava..." Ulva uttered slowly. "Did you really think I would dare hurt a child? I am not that cruel." Then, Ulva lowered her voice. "Or am I?"
Ava could feel her blood boil inside her veins. She immediately closed her eyes as she gritted her teeth to try and control her anger but in the end, magick still burst out of her body. But just as it was about to wreak havoc, Ava held her breath and recalled Matthew’s face.
On the outside, only a few seconds had passed but to Ava, this was already an eternity. She thought of Matthew and Phil and Gabi. Those were the only three people that she cared about.
It didn’t take too long for her anger to slowly... subside. She opened her eyes, her expression calm and collected.
"It looked like you are not someone that would let your emotion run havoc inside your body. Was it that? Or... maybe you just didn’t care."
"You wait until Matthew— "
"Matthew again?" Ulva snickered, her eyes filled with disgust. "Did you really think you are invincible because of him? Just because he values you now does not mean he would value you years from now. While I will be staying next to the King for... many years watching you. The moment you would lose Matthew’s favor would be your end."
Ava took in a deep controlled breath.
Then she smiled, a sinister glint flashing in her eyes.
"Naive," Ava muttered as the smile on her face became broader. "Your expectations are too high Priestess. I would really hate to see you disappoint yourself." But that is only if Ulva would survive that long, Ava thought inwardly.
If this was the past Ava, she would have done something at this provocation. Ava was aware of her abilities and she knew she could fight against this woman and come out unscathed.
However, this was the only safe place for Matthew. A place where his enemies couldn’t find him.
She wouldn’t want to take that away from him.
However, the moment Matthew could assure her of his safety from whomever it was that trapped him in The Pits, Ava would never hesitate to burn this place.
And she would definitely make this woman suffer.
No. Ava wasn’t planning on killing her.
Death would be too easy. freёwebnovel-com
She’s going to let her watch as she destroys this world. She’s going to make Ulva suffer and make her regret everything that she had done so far.
Ulva only responded with a dark ominous laughter. Then she waved her hand and the heavy wind that wrapped around Ava vanished as if... it was never there in the first place.
"Take this as a friendly advice. Follow me and stop making trouble. Or you would never see that ... what was the child’s name again? Right. Gabi. You would never see Gabi again."
