Chapter 303: Bullying the Weak

Ulva grew up in a coven of women who had been serving the Vikings a long... long time ago. At that time, their coven had been treated as witches too. However, since the Lycans cannot sleep with the witches, the Lycans usually send the younger witches to villages to procreate and only comes back while they were pregnant.

Once they gave birth, male children were trained to become witch warriors or shamans and warlocks while females were trained to serve the lords and the nobility.

Meaning, the child would grow up without even knowing their father. Of course, there were still lucky witches who had a child with their fellow male witches. But since male witches were considered very rare, many of the female witches would still choose to visit villages and find men to impregnate them.

Sadly... Ulva wasn’t born that way.

Her mother had it worse.

Her mother grew up with defective looks and a problem like that cannot be fixed by a small magick. Meaning, to become beautiful, her mother needed to sacrifice something precious to her to the demon gods.

Unfortunately, her mother chose to sacrifice Ulva’s appearance.

The moment Ulva was born, she already looked hideous. Some people said, she looked like an old woman with a wrinkly face and some marks on her skin. Some would say, she looked like the child of a monkey.

Growing up, Ulva had been bullied because of her face.

And because of that, she had lost a lot of opportunities just because she wasn’t pleasing to the eyes.

At an early age, Ulva learned that beauty is something that could make someone’s life easier. An ugly woman that would ask for a free ride would be treated as a maid while a prettier woman would be treated better.

Not only this, Ulva was ridiculed by the men that she liked because of her appearance. And the worse that happened was when she...

Ulva couldn’t stomach the thought of those men making fun of her just because she loved someone with good looks. But those words were not even as painful as what they did to her after they tricked her to come to a wooded place one night. Though this happened hundreds of years ago, Ulva could still remember how they ruined her clothes while laughing at her and telling her that she didn’t have the right to say no because... no one else would touch her anyway.

It was something that kept her awake at night. It was something that made her hurt her own body.

As years passed, Ulva had to live in seclusion until someone came and made her realize that in this world, being pretty isn’t the only way that could give her the respect that she wanted.

There was another thing.

Power.

A powerful woman is a scary one.

They could do everything that they wanted to do.

Soon, Ulva learned that pretty women were useless against power. No. Not just those women were useless against power. Everyone is useless against absolute power.

And thus, Ulva had done everything she could to become powerful.

Ulva was all smiles when she received the news that Ava had accompanied Justin together with two other men towards a private room.

Despite being pretty, Ava still listened to Ulva’s words because Ulva was definitely more powerful. At the end of the day, Ulva won.

As always.

Oh... how she loved ruining women who always thought they could have everything that they want because of their looks. Seeing, the despair in the women’s faces always made Ulva feel butterflies in her stomach.

At one point, she never understood why the strong bullied the weak. Slowly, she realized that there is nothing more satisfying the bullying the weak, crushing their hopes into pieces, and watching hope vanish from their eyes.

Of course, bullying good-looking people were just a bonus. An extra. Something that would give her extra satisfaction.

"Have you called the King and Queen and the other royals?" she asked Mildred who just gave her the news about Ava.

"Yes, High Priestess."

"Wonderful." Ulva smiled. "Then... we should leave. We are going to make it look like we have stumbled upon them by accident."

With that, the two women walked out of their own private room and walked toward the room where Ava and the three men were located.

"Congratulations, Priestess," Mildred said. "As expected, your plan worked."

"Of course," Mildred said. "But it’s too easy to say those words to me," she added. Of course, she already felt like she had won. She had discovered that Ava cared so much about her family.

Using her family against her was just the perfect way. It was the perfect weapon to show Ava who has more power in this palace.

"Without Matthew, that woman is nothing," Ulva mumbled. At least, Ava was smart enough to know that.

"We are here," Mildred had an exciting smile on her face. "Shall I open the doors?"

"Please do," Ulva held her head high, she was already prepared to scream and cause a scene. "Eh?" Ulva blinked when she discovered that there was no one inside the extravagant bedroom where Ava and the rest were supposed to stay.

"Are you certain that— " Ulva’s face darkened. "Are you certain they were here?"

"I— " Mildred examined the room and soon, Ulva also took a step inside the room to take a closer look.

"They are not here? But I am sure that— "

"Ulva?"

The two women had a surprised expression on their faces when they heard someone called the Priestess.

"Ulva?"

On instinct, Mildred put her body in front of Ulva just as a man walked inside the room and closed the door.

"Mr. York?" Ulva asked.

"Ulva?" Justin’s face lit up, his lips lifted into a smile. "You are finally here... I have been waiting for you."

"What?"

"What are you talking about! How dare you call the Priestess— "

**BANG**

Mildred wasn’t able to finish her words when Justin suddenly arrived in front of her. He held her neck and slowly squeezed it as he lifted her thin body into the air.

"How dare you disturb us!?" Justin said.

"You— Let go of Mildred!" Ulva hissed as she waved her hand.

The next thing they saw was Justin’s body hitting the door, breaking it apart.

Then a loud scream echoed.
