Chapter 305: To Her Death!

Ulva narrowed at Ava.

That insult was indeed something that hit her core. How could a young witch who—

Her thoughts halted when she thought of Baba.

How could she underestimate Babaylan’s student?

"Then what are you planning to do?" One of the Alpha’s asked.

"Ah... forgive me for my insolence." Ava smiled amicably at everyone before bowing at the King and Queen. "I am Ava Woods. I currently serve his highness

Matthew Graydon. The heir to the Lycan throne."

"Oh! His Highness Matthew’s witch!"

"Isn’t he the prince who didn’t even bother to see us?"

Ava smiled. "Please forgive his highness for his actions. When he heard the extent of the rogue’s attack, he was unable to stop his curiosity. Right now, he is currently in your lands. He wanted to see the rogues and the damages that they have caused you." Ava looked at Ulva. "You see... his highness Matthew is not someone that would sit behind his desk and read reports. He is a man of action."

Ava added, "Someone that wouldn’t hesitate to miss an important event like this just so he could be there for the weaker shifters."

Seeing the older Werewolves nod and the Queen’s face turning ugly by the minutes, Ava smiled in satisfaction.

"Since you asked me what method was I planning to use then I believe there is no harm in telling you. Not long ago, I stumbled upon the grave of one of the older witches and I was lucky enough to receive the witch’s inheritance. This included the grimoire full of spells that this generation of witches no longer use because they were deemed as dangerous."

"You mean... forbidden spells?" Alpha Nomina asked. "Are you saying that you knew forbidden spells?"

"No," Ava answered. "I have investigated the matter and realized that most of the spells are broken and sadly I do not have the capabilities to fix it. After all, I am but an orphan witch who didn’t receive any education from any of the schools for witches."

"If you didn’t receive any other education then how did you know this would work?"

"Naturally, I already did it once!" Ava grinned. "It was harmful and didn’t have any side effects. So... if you wanted to know what really happened inside then may I perform the spell?"

"No. You may not." Ulva’s voice caused murmurs from the Werewolves. "As you know, they were considered forbidden spells because they tend to harm other people!"

"Priestess... did you hear me say that I am going to perform a forbidden spell?" Ava countered. "I said, I found a book full of spells that this generation no longer practiced. When did I say, I am going to use a forbidden form of magick?"

"Then what are you— "

"Ancient Spells. Unlike Forbidden Magick, they do not cause any harm."

"Ancient Spells vanished because they aren’t stable. They could harm— " frёewebηovel.cѳm

"Priestess, why does it look like you don’t want them to see what really happened here?" Ava interrupted her. "You didn’t want them to feed Miss Mildred a truth potion and now, you didn’t want me to perform a spell that is harmless for everyone?" Ava asked. "Are you trying to hide something? Priestess Ulva?"

"I— "

"Please stop doing that Miss Woods," Mildred said. Then she got up and look at the Werewolves. "This is not the Priestess’s fault. It was mine. I shouldn’t have come here knowing that Mr. York is resting inside this room. So if you want to punish someone, please punish me!"

"Mildred!"

"No. Priestess! I know you did nothing wrong. I couldn’t let them judge your character when all you wanted was to save your apprentice."

Ava’s lips twitched. Obviously, Mildred used the word Apprentice to highlight her importance in this place. Ulva is considered the most powerful witch inside this plane. Being her apprentice is really an honor.

Who would dare kill the most powerful witch’s apprentice?

Not even the most powerful Lycan would dare do that.

After all, a witch’s curse can be very deadly.

"So, you are saying that you tried to seduce the Alpha?"

"Yes. I did and when he started kissing me I got frightened and tried to push him away. Sadly, he was too strong and I couldn’t overpower him. Luckily, the Priestess hear my scream and saved me."

"My..." Ava sneered. "It looked like Miss Mildred was enamored by the Alpha’s beauty. Your Majesties, I suggest that we allow a lovestruck witch marries into Alpha Justin’s pack! Alpha Justin does not have a mate and since Miss Mildred wanted to climb into his bed then..."

"Preposterous!" Ulva hissed. "What nonsense are you suggesting!?"

"Priestess... if the news that Miss Mildred would accidentally reach the ears of other shifters, their opinion about the witches would surely change. That would surely affect not just the witches but their masters which are the Lycans. Did you really want them to insult the Lycans?"

"You— You— " Ulva’s face turned so red, that she looked like a ripe tomato. By now, she completely understood Ava’s scheme.

Ava wanted to embarrass both Ulva and Mildred.

Since Ulva was Mildred’s master, everything that Mildred would do is a reflection of Ulva’s way of teaching. But this isn’t the real sinister scheme that Ava had been plotting. No. It is far from ruining Ulva’s reputation.

Ava wanted to send a witch next to the Alpha! The Werewolf could easily see this as the Lycans trying to use this opportunity to send a spy on the strongest Werewolf! The thing is... Werewolves are all about their packs and families.

All they wanted was to protect their packs.

How could they let a spy in?

But the thing is, they would never decline something like this as this was given by the King and Queen himself. So... how does one treat a spy?

Cruel.

Ava was sending Mildred to her death!

Ulva’s chest raised and fell as her eyes met Mildred’s eyes.

....

-- Do you like me to explain the logic behind Matthew’s body and soul? It’s not really a spoiler! Tell me if you want me to do that! Thank you!
