Ava felt like she is going to explode from too much anger!
Her body felt hot and she could literally feel the magick bursting inside her body as if it was threatening to explode!
That damn man actually tricked her!
She continued pacing.
The more she thought about it, the angrier she was.
This was the reason why he hadn’t touched her since that night!
You brute!
She cursed inwardly.
Now, she wasn’t sure if she was angry about the fact that he hid this from her or because he hadn’t had sex with her after that proposal!
This is too much!
She’s confusing her own self!
She stared at the ring that sparkled beautifully against the sun.
It really looked just like an ordinary diamond. She had used all the magick that she knew just to take it off but it didn’t show any signs of budging! It was stuck on her finger!
And now Matthew could...
She felt her cheeks flush.
What was she thinking?
Focus Ava! She chanted inwardly. She should not think about sex or his dick! She should think about getting rid of this ring!
How dare he trick her!
No.
She should just stop blaming him! It wasn’t his fault that he was too convincing! It was her fault for letting him convince herself!
It should be his looks!
It was because of his eyes and his lips and his fucking dick!
Yes! His dick!
She stomped her foot and a nearby tree suddenly shook.
This acted like a wake-up call to Ava.
Her magick had once again become so chaotic.
She needed to calm her mind and her body.
Obviously, she knew it wouldn’t work.
"Ava?"
Ava immediately stopped moving when she heard Francheska’s voice. She turned and fake a smile. "Your highness..."
"I was looking for you everywhere. I didn’t know you are at the back of the library. Why are you here? Was it because of— "
"No. I just fell in love with the place," Ava lied without batting an eyelid. "As you know witches tend to go to places that have been blessed by nature. Like a mini forest," Ava said.
"Oh... I didn’t know that you would like this forest. Do you want to go back to the library?"
Ava said nothing.
"Would you please ignore what happened earlier?" Francheska said.
The woman must have thought that Ava would ask her about that man.
"Sure, no problem."
But just as they were about to go inside, Ava heard another familiar voice.
"Ava..."
The two of them turned and almost immediately, it was as if a static existed between the man approaching them and Francheska.
"Jude," Ava smiled. "Why are you here?" And how the hell did he know she was here in the first place.
"I was looking for you. Someone spotted you with the Princess which I assumed is ..." Jude stopped talking.
In response, Francheska smiled and introduce herself with a curtsy. "I am Princess Francheska Graydon."
"Jude..." Jude held his hand. "Jude Caro."
"It’s a pleasure to meet you, sir. I have read about the Caro family of Werelions. Strong and natural born leaders."
For the first time since Ava met Jude, she actually spotted a blush on the man’s ears. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
Uhhhhh....
She thought Jude was married?
Ava blinked.
"Thank you. That was very— "
Hearing Jude started to stutter, Ava immediately interrupted. "Uh, Jude... why are you here?"
"Right. Right. I am here to talk to you."
"Why?" Ava asked.
Instead of answering her, Jude looked at Francheska, "As much as I would love to talk to you, I really would want to talk to Miss Woods alone. And I would like to apologize for my bluntness but would like to have some coffee after my conversation with Miss Woods?"
"I— " Francheska blinked.
Ava was almost sure this was the first time that someone casually asked the Princess something like this.
"Of course, she would love to have coffee with you," Ava answered. "She is going to the library and waiting for you. I bet a coffee inside a library would be very nice. Right, Princess?"
"What? Uhhhh right. Of course. A coffee in the library. Though it shouldn’t happen because the paper would react to the steam and accidents could easily happen. A liquid inside a library should be— "
"She means yes." Ava interrupted her. "She just loves the library so much. She would like to have the coffee outside of the library instead."
"Right," Jude gave Ava an awkward look.
"Right," Francheska also responded.
"Good. Now... I am going to talk to him right over there and her highness will be waiting here, right?"
"Right. Of course."
"Good!"
With that, Ava dragged Jude a few meters away from the Princess and set up a shield to prevent anyone from eavesdropping.
"What was that?" Ava asked. "I thought you are a married man?"
"Divorced."
"Huh?"
"Months ago. I became too busy with work."
"You didn’t mention that."
"I just saw you again. Did you want me to say, hey how have you been? I am now single because I got divorce months ago?"
"You have a valid point." Ava nodded. "But still... the Princess?"
"Do you have issues with her being a Lycan, because I could name a few issues with you and your Lycan too?"
"Oh..." Ava shook her head. "No. But I just thought... it was weird for you to blush in front of someone. I didn’t think you could do that."
"That was an insult."
Ava snorted. "So... why did you come to find me?"
"Your Lycan... where is he?"
"I don’t know."
"I heard he is going to handle the rogues? What about the Hybrids?"
"I don’t know. The other prince would handle that."
"No, he won’t."
"I know." How could Drigo handle the Hybrids? "They must have wanted Matthew to handle the Hybrids but their plan backfired when he chose to handle the rogues. What about it?’
"Well... have you read the reports about Hybrids?"
"Yes. Of course."
"And did you notice it?"
"Notice what?"
"I think they are trying to expose the supernaturals to the whole of humanity," Jude said.
