Chapter 326: A Damn Illusion!

Francheska grew up without a single friend. freeweɓnovel~cѳm

No playmates.

No friends.

Not even siblings.

All she could remember was playing with her late mother and some maids who aren’t that scared or angry enough to play with a little child. As she grew up, she quickly realized that not many people liked her because she was a Royal Woman. Soon, she found solace in her books.

Books were not like people. They would accompany her for days and bring her to new worlds, new adventures, and experiences. She stayed in the library and started reading and reading and reading.

Her father soon gave her a chance to visit the outside world. Of course, the only thing that she did was visit libraries and bookstores. She visited most of Europe and all she had when she came back with items of luggage full of books.

Because...

Why not?

With the status of the royal lycan women, Francheska was prepared to stay inside the library forever.

But Ava was different.

Ava was the first supernatural woman who actually talked to her and even visited her library. The others would never do that. The Lycan women that she had met before only liked to talk to her because she was Matthew and Kieran’s sister.

They wanted to spend time with her hoping that Kieran would be around visiting her or that they could see Matthew walking around.

And when they realized that both Kieran and Matthew aren’t that close with Francheska, they stopped visiting her. Those women were just like bubbles. They are beautiful but... they just vanished, never to be seen again.

Being with Ava was different.

Francheska felt that Ava was real. She listened and respond and even talk about books and the outside world. Ava’s knowledge about the real world and her experiences was very attractive.

And now...

They are going to take Ava away!

Francheska couldn’t help but tear up when Ava walked inside the octagon fighting stage. Just watching her strong back made Francheska emotional.

What if she lost her?

What if she lost the only woman who actually agreed to visit her library?

She turned her gaze towards the Queen and Drigo.

She was almost sure that this was a part of their scheme. Ava was strong. But how could her strength compete against the scheming people inside this place?

"You are flushed," Jude’s smooth voice reached her ears. She lifted her head and stared at him, embarrassed. "Do you want to sit down?"

"They are going to kill her," she said, her voice a little low. No matter how strong she was, she couldn’t beat someone who must have done their preparation just to beat her. These people must have been planning something like this since the conference started!

"You don’t look too worried," she added when she saw the slight smile on Jude’s face.

"Worried? I am only worried that the shield cannot protect us. We should stay away."

"You— "

"Stop worrying about her. Did you really think she would bravely come here and do what she was doing if she was weak?"

"I— "

"She’s not..." Jude said. "Why don’t we find a chair a little further away? We can sit down and watch."

Together with Jude and Francheska, Samuel and another surprising person followed them. It was the witch Erenes.

She was Kieran’s witch.

"Why are you here?" Francheska asked.

"I am merely guarding you, your highness..." Erenes had a calm smile on her face.

"No need you can leave me. I am safe with them."

"Not for long, your highness." Erenes met Jude’s eyes. Jude nodded in response.

"Let her stay."

Right now, the others don’t really care about the reason why they moved. Instead of being careful, they started to crowd next to the stage, cheering for Amore.

"I am surprised," Ava said on the stage. The shield must have some other magick that amplified her voice was everyone can clearly hear what she was saying. "I thought you wanted to live to... help your son."

"I wanted to live," Amore said with confidence. "That means you would have to die today."

Seeing the anger in the woman’s eyes, Ava immediately knew that whoever thought of this scheme deliberately used Amore because they had some problems in the past.

It was honestly a wise move.

Still, she couldn’t help but wonder what it was that they gave to Amore to make her agree to fight against her.

It should be the thing that Amore wanted the most, right?

Meaning...

Dream walkers?

Was it possible that there was another dream walker inside this plane?

No.

That’s impossible.

The Shaman told her that Dreamwalkers can actually feel each other. That’s the reason why he found her.

"If someone dies inside the octagon, the winning party doesn’t have any responsibility to the losing party’s family. And the losing party’s loved ones cannot go after the winning party. This was a part of the oath. It cannot be broken!" Ulva said. Then she added. "You may start!" Ulva’s voice echoed.

And just like that a few fireballs immediately flew towards Ava. Seeing this, she squinted and easily avoided them by gliding and moving her body around.

"You have improved..." Amore uttered.

"And so are you," Ava said as she sent a few fireballs toward the woman. Right now, the fight looked boring as the two of them were just throwing fireballs toward each other and avoiding each other’s attacks.

However, Ava could feel that Amore was trying to do something.

She was silently chanting!

Ava frowned when she felt Amore’s body turn blurry. Then Ava stopped feeling her limbs.

It was a damn illusion!

"What is going on?" Francheska was quick to stand up when both Amore and Ava stopped moving.

"An illusion," Jude said. "Amore didn’t want us to see the fight."

"That woman has always been cruel," Samuel muttered. "She’s known for her strong magick. I have never heard of her using illusions to defeat her enemy."

"Me too," Jude said. "Your Highness... why don’t you take your seat? Don’t worry about Ava. She will be fine."

However, his words fell into deep ears as Francheska’s tears started rolling in her eyes. "You don’t understand..." she said. "That spell is... I saw that spell before."
