Jude’s face immediately darkened.
"Tell us more..." Jude said.
"It was... I believe that is an ancient forbidden spell that witches used to punish someone. Like... like when someone committed a grave sin against them and they— "
"Francheska calm down..."
"This event was the only way a witch could punish another witch. Especially if they have lower status than the head witch and Priestess. Usually, a witch would challenge another and they would fight inside using that illusion."
"You mean everyone knew about the illusion?"
"Yes. I believe all head witches knew about it and some other witches. But it was pretty popular as it was a very popular punishment in the past and present witches."
"What does this spell do?" Samuel asked.
This time, it was Erenes who answered.
"Eternal slumber..." Erenes said. "They could fall into a coma and not wake up again. You can use magick or try to feed them or use modern technology but none of them could save the patient. Their body would soon rot from the inside until they just... die and disappear from the face of Earth. "
"Then... how can Ava..."
"You can’t..." Erenes said. "I have never heard of anyone who was able to survive after that spell."
"Why is it called a spell and not a curse?"
"Curses require a sacrifice or an exchange. This one doesn’t. While it works like a curse, one doesn’t need someone’s blood to activate it. There is no catalyst either. Once the spell is cast then..."
"Are you saying she’s going to — " Jude stopped talking when Francheska suddenly sat back down. She was shaking.

"How about we kill Amore?" Samuel said.
Erenes shook her head. "Ulva would never allow that."
"Then are we just going to stand here while they do that to Ava?"
"We need to save her!" Jude got up when a loud howl echoed from somewhere. Goosebumps skittered on Jude’s skin as he looked around, her gaze full of worry.
The howl just now...
It sounded like... it was from a wolf?
They are currently in an open area surrounded by trees and some perfectly shaped plants. It looked like a large garden completely covered with cobblestones. In the middle of the space was where the octagon was erected.
"What is that?" Francheska asked.
Then another howl echoed.
"That— That is a werewolf!" Samuel exclaimed. "Let’s go take Ava! We need to leave! Now!"
"What is going on?" Jude asked the older man.
"The thick smell of Rogue."
"We cannot go inside the shield!" Erenes uttered.
"Can’t you break it or something?"
"No. I cannot."
"We need to leave and take Ava with us!" Samuel said. By now, the other guests have heard the howl and started to feel alarmed, especially the ones who were from keepers.
They are humans. How could they overpower some rogues?
"Are you certain they are rogues?" Jude calmly said. Despite his position, he had never seen a rogue in the past.
"Positive... the smell of sewage and blood is something I would never forget. Come on... let’s approach the shield." Samuel answered.
"You should leave." Jude looked at Erenes and Francheska. "We can handle this. We will take Ava with us."
"No. Have you forgotten that I am still a Lycan?’ Francheska suddenly ripped her long dress, making it more comfortable for her to move.
"I am a witch, Mr. Caro," Erenes said. "And I am here to protect the princess." Obviously, her words surprised everyone. Erenes had been watching them in the past few days but she never approached them. freewebnøvel.coɱ
"Let’s go!" Samuel said. Despite being human, Samuel was in the military for years. He could perfectly protect himself in situations like this.
Just as the four of them reached the stage, a loud scream echoed. Then there were howls and now growls.
They looked back and realized that the werewolves have shown themselves and started fighting against the Lycans and witches.
"We need to get Ava!" Jude said when he saw the endless number of Rogues. "Where the hell did they come from?"
"I will try to break the shield!" Erenes immediately volunteered. "Though... I am not sure if it would affect Ava and— "
"Ulva could easily drop the shield once we leave. Then— " Then Ava and Amore would become the wolves’ dinner. Despite her fear, Francheska managed to stay alert. She stared at the chaos not far away from them and the people who were running to the palace. "If we leave and Ulva drops the shield then... Ava would die!" she said.
While Francheska never fought some rogues or anyone else before. She’s not going to just stand in there and let them harm Ava!
Meanwhile, Ava was unaware of everything that had been happening outside.
She couldn’t hear anything but she felt her body falling for a long time. But hey... at least she could still feel her body!
She closed her eyes and concentrated on the space that she was currently in. With the Shaman’s knowledge, Ava could easily control the illusion and make it hers. However, before doing that. Ava wanted to do something.
She wanted to know if she could find out who instructed Amore to use this forbidden spell on her!
**THUD**
Ava immediately got up. It was still dark. So she closed her eyes and thought of the sun. The next time she opened it, the light was already there.
"Huh?" Ava lifted an eyebrow when she notice the familiar place. It was Gabriella’s house.
"V... how long are you planning to stay in your room!" she heard Gabriella’s voice. "I made you breakfast! You should get up. I have to leave now. It’s nice to arrive in the mountains on Libra New Moon. And— "
Gabriella didn’t finish her words when Ava ran out of her room and down the stairs.
"V? What is going on? It looked like you had seen a ghost!" Gabriella smiled at her. "Did you have a nightmare again?" she asked.
