"There is no way that the rogues would have access to this plane!" Queen Luna said. "The moment we let you in... you actually brought your dogs and attacked us?"
From the Queen’s perspective, the only one who could have let the rogues it was someone that they invited.
"There is no way that they could access this place without anyone’s help," Drigo said. "My wife is already investigating the matter."
"We need to— "
**BANG**
The large door of the hall was forcefully opened from the outside. Samuel walked in along with Erenes then there was Matthew.
Everyone’s gaze immediately turned towards him. Shushed conversations started.
"Thankfully, I came on time," Matthew said without a hint of amusement in his voice. "Glad to see everyone still alive."
He looked at the large circular table and realized that there was no available seat for him. So, he stared at the man nearest to him. It was a Lycan from the noble family.
After meeting Matthew’s gaze, the man got up. Gave Matthew a bow and walked away.
"Please continue..." Matthew said. "I am only here to listen."
But Matthew’s presence already changed everything.
The first one who broke the silence was Drigo. He cleared his throat.
"As I was saying, my strongest knight and my wife were already investigating the invasion. We found some traces that the rogue came from Alaska. Or at least this is just the result of our initial investigation. She would come back with more news later."
"Rogues had been our problem for years," an Alpha said. "I know you didn’t think too much about the issue during the conference but the fact that they have gotten stronger was real. We need to focus more on the rogues and maybe assigned more people to take care of it."
"So who was it?"
Everyone immediately turned their heads toward Matthew.
"I’m sorry your highness but what are you talking about?" Ulva asked.
"Who let them in," Matthew asked.
"Brother if you didn’t hear me, let me repeat my words. We are currently investigating everything. We will soon receive news about the result. But for now, it is best that we focused on the location of the other rogues so we could take care of them. We have lost a few Lycans well... all of us lost a few important people."
Drigo’s point was rather simple. There were a lot of Lycans and shifters as well as witches who died from the attack. If Matthew would start talking about Ava who didn’t even receive an injury, then it would make Matthew sound selfish.
What about the families of the people who lost their lives?
Some people died!
It wasn’t comparable to Ava’s case!
His words were meant to stop Matthew from complaining and raising hell because of what happened to his witch.
"Are we?" Matthew snorted.
"Yes, my people are now investigating— "
"There is no need for that," Matthew uttered.
"What?"
"The rogues who managed to escaped are now dead."
Another silence followed after Matthew’s declaration.
"Dead?"
"Torn apart, their limbs separated from their bodies," Matthew said. "I could bring them to you if you want to."
"So— So you found their lair?"
"Lair?" Matthew looked at the Alpha who asked. "Rogues don’t stay in one place. How did you know there was a lair?"
"I— "
"Naturally, we thought there was a lair since the attacks seemed so coordinated. It was as if someone planned it." Alpha York chimed in. "So... did you find any lair?"
"I wouldn’t know that. It was my people who found them."
Everyone had mixed expressions on their faces. His people? What people? As far as they know, Matthew’s soldiers were owned by the King. He didn’t have a single knight. All he had was that witch.
"Brother, I don’t think this is the time to boast. This is a serious discussion. We knew you just stayed in your room after you arrived. What people are you talking about?"
"The people who killed these— " As if on cue, the door opened. Marko Calida, Matthew’s secretary walked in. A few servants followed him.
Almost immediately, the stenched of blood and rotting smell of sewage filled the area.
The servants were bringing carts and carts of werewolves’ bodies. Everyone’s expression changed. Some were visibly scared while others were disturbed by the bloody scene.
Of course, others just stared at Matthew.
Like Ulva and the King.
The two of them didn’t have many expressions on their faces. Since Matthew arrived, the two were just staring at him.
"You killed all of them? We could have interrogated them!" Someone from the back said.
"They wanted to hurt my fiance. It is only right that I kill them." Matthew said as he slowly turned his gaze towards Ulva. "Just like how I am going to kill everyone else who was involved in this accident."
"What are you talking about?"
"What fiance?"
"A Lycan and a witch?"
Matthew only smirked when he heard his words.
"My people only took a few minutes to kill them all," Matthew said. "The sound of their whimpers would have been an orchestra to my ears. Too bad, I wasn’t there to sit down and witness such a scene."
Of course, his words made everyone uncomfortable.
How could one enjoy slaughtering their own kind?
Well... Matthew was not done.
He added, "So... who among you, ladies and gents, let the wolves in?" he asked as he smiled.
"I— I have a question— " Drigo asked. He was staring at the carts for a few minutes now. When he noticed something. "Your people... really did this?" The bodies... were too mangled. It looked like their bodies exploded from the inside. There was no visible body, only the limbs, and the head.
The main body looked just too damaged.
How the hell did Matthew find someone that could easily do such a thing?
"Well of course. Do you think your wife is capable of doing that?"
