"How could you just declare him as King? What about Matthew?" Queen Luna had a dark look on her face.
"The rule states that— "
"What I say, is the rule!" the King said. "If I say he is to become King, he is to become King. We will have the coronation in a week."
"But Matthew is still alive!"
Drigo flinched when he heard his mother’s words. Clearly, the Queen wanted to talk about the fact that all of Drigo’s siblings should die before he becomes, King.
The previous generation had been following these rules since... forever! The other siblings needed to die to avoid any problems and possible revolt in the future.
"And he is going to stay alive," Drigo said.
"What?"
"Aren’t you tired of everything, Queen mother?"
"Drigo this is not the time to say something like that," his first wife Lady Romina uttered. "We have seen how strong he is. I am certain that he won’t just sit down and— "
"He is going to give the crown to Drigo."
"What?"
"Your Majesty, are you jesting?"
"He is going to give the crown?"
When the King nodded, the Queen’s face contorted into a scowl.
"Impossible!" Queen Margery said. "There is no way Matthew would do something like that. I don’t— "
"He just did."
"Then maybe he is up to something. Maybe he is planning to revolt and plans to destroy this plane. Maybe— "
"I suggest you watch your tongue," the King lazily uttered from his seat which was a few steps higher than where everyone else was. Right now, the King looked like he was too tired to even discuss this matter.
The King sighed and rested his chin on his hand.
"The decision is final. Drigo shall be crown King. If you don’t want him to become King then feel free to say it. I can choose another one of my sons."
"We shall accept that. However, once Drigo becomes we should declare Matthew as— "
"That’s enough." The King uttered. "Everything will stay as is. Drigo will be King and all of my children are still welcome on this plane. The Lycans have endured so much. It is time to make some changes for our future."
The Queen gritted her teeth. What future? Right now, they are comfortable. There is no need to make some changes!
"I agree," Drigo’s voice silenced whatever it was that the Queen wanted to say. "Thank you so much, your majesty. I will not disappoint."
"Very well... you may leave. Ulva will take care of informing all the nobles and the other arrangement about this matter."
"Let’s go, mother."
While the Queen wanted to stay and talk to the King, she decided to follow Drigo out because she also had some things to discuss with her son.
Of course, her top priority is making sure that her son stays King for the years to come. And that means... getting rid of Matthew.
....
"Was that enough?" the King asked just as the others left. He turned to his left and eyed Matthew who was sitting in a chair that looked exactly like the King. Except there were no jewels and... it was black.
"Perhaps," Matthew got up. "But to think that you actually faked a mating with another Lycan..." ƒгeewebnovёl_com
"It was all Ulva’s handiwork." The King said without staring at Matthew’s eyes. "To be King... I needed a mate so Ulva found someone that would perfectly suit my standards. Someone who would follow us."
"But she’s not really following you now..."
"I will take care of that."
"She’s suspecting about the mating. Perhaps she realized that she’s not as strong as she actually was."
The King said nothing.
"Take care of that. I don’t want her to trouble Ava." As much as possible, Matthew didn’t want to kill anyone else.
Aside from the fact that it was tiresome, he thought he could actually take advantage of the Lycans and he wouldn’t be able to do that if all the Lycans die.
"I will take care of that."
"She’s your wife... tame her," Matthew said. "And if she refuses... "
"I know what to do. I will keep her quiet."
"Good." By now, Matthew already knew pretty much everything that the King and Ulva knew. He used that smoke to absorb everything from their memories.
The procedure was supposed to be fatal but Matthew successfully did it without damaging their memories. It was because he almost always use the same method to extract information from other people.
Just as Matthew arrived next to the King, the latter got up and gave the seat to Matthew.
He even lowered his head towards Matthew.
In response, Matthew lifted an eyebrow then he smiled.
In fact, there is another secret that this King was hiding from everyone else. And it was the fact that he knew about the existence of the object that could control this plane.
But that was just one of the reasons why this man was still alive.
"You may leave..." Matthew said. The King left without saying another word.
After a few minutes, two dark human-like smoke appeared next to him.
"My lord..."
"Tell me," Matthew said.
"We have found the one who let the Werewolves in. It was an Alpha. One of the strongest that we have seen. But for some reason, he was hiding his strength."
"I presume this is not Alpha York?"
"No, my lord."
Matthew squinted. Someone actually dared to try and hurt Ava.
Ulva already received her punishment and she was probably wishing she would have died by now. Isn’t it time to punish the others too?
"Ah... that reminds me..." he got up and walked out of the hall without saying a word.
After a few minutes, he arrived inside Ava’s room.
He nodded at the smoke that hovered inside the room, a silent signal for them to leave him alone.
Then he sat next to Ava and held her hand.
She was able to fight the spell this time but she had exhausted all the magick in her body. She was lucky, she didn’t faint as she ran towards him.
He smiled and then looked at the large telescope next to Ava’s bed.
Right. He had forgotten about the telescope!
