"Matthew!" Ava growled, furious. She wanted to take him down yet she couldn’t even land a hit! Matthew was huge and surprisingly agile! It was that or... she was just too weak against him. Or fucking both!
She glared at him.
"If you break the barrier, you can listen to what she has to say."
"I really don’t appreciate you doing this."
"I have no choice."
"You are a lunatic."
"Only when it comes to you," he beamed. This only made Ava more irritated. She kicked and used her magick but again, Matthew would just avoid them. Moreover, she realized something. Her magick seemed weaker inside this barrier.
As if sensing her thoughts Matthew said.
"The barrier is still consuming your magick. You have to break it for it to stop."
"Matthew, I am not joking. Let me out of here."
"Only if you promise not to believe everything that she has to say."
"Did you really think I am a fool?"
"No, but words can be deceiving especially when used with magick."
"You are looking down on me!" she uttered.
"I am not."
"Fuck you!"
Ava narrowed then she held her arms up.
"I give up," she said. "I am not fighting. Let’s stay here." Ava then lay down on the floor. "I’m not breaking the barrier. Let’s stay here."
This argument and its end result sounded really childish. She couldn’t understand how the hell did this happen!
What the hell was wrong?
Why was Matthew trying to stop her from hearing what the woman has to say?
Again, this only made Ava more and more curious, it wasn’t even funny anymore. She could feel her heart raced not because Matthew decided to lie down next to her. It was because of anger. She didn’t know how to actually let it all out without hurting Matthew!
Alright, even if she was angry, she was still thinking about hurting him.
"You are so annoying," she uttered.
"Am I?"
"An irrational."
"Perhaps?"
"And unpredictable."
"If I’m not, I would have died a long time ago."
"And so unreasonable," Ava said.
"I have my reasons you just don’t know it yet."
"Stop it!"
"Stop what?"
"Stop talking to me."
"You sound like a child."
"YOU are acting like one!" Ava turned towards him. "I am so furious, I wanted to punch your face."
"My face?" he looked at her and actually looked surprised. "I thought you love my face!?"
"Well, maybe your chest!" perhaps he noticed that she had been avoiding punching his face and had been targeting his body instead. But can he really blame her?
"Stop being weird," Ava added.
"Hey..."
This time, Ava turned the other way, towards the smoke.
"Hey..."
Again, Ava didn’t answer. Why would she?
"That woman isn’t from this realm."
"What?" Ava immediately turned towards him. "What did you say?"
"She’s not someone from this realm. She has been hiding here."
"You mean— she’s from the Shadows?"
"No," he shook his head. "Did you think only people from the Shadows wanted to come into this realm?"
Ava was silent.
"Why tell me now?" she asked.
"If I told you earlier, you would have done something crazy."
Ava pouted. "I am not that impulsive."
"Maybe not. But the woman... might know more about you than you originally thought."
"You mean more than my name?"
"Yes."
"Well tell me something!" she jolted up and moved on top of him. Ava was on all fours as she looked down on Matthew.
The man just looked at her in disbelief.
"This position is a bit making me uncomfortable," Matthew said.
"Oh... right..." Ava smiled, and an idea popped up in her head. "I forgot about it. You have to control yourself."
He lifted an eyebrow as if surprised that she knew about it. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel-com
"I am indeed a little stupid but... I understand things, Matthew. There is no way that you would have refused that— " just thinking about it made Ava blush. She’s a bit embarrassed to tell him that she wanted it.
"At the beach," she said. "You have been avoiding me since that time Matthew." Since the time she became so weak and had bruises. Then Matthew forcefully gave her that ring to protect her from himself.
At least she was smart enough to put some things together.
Matthew was avoiding sex.
And that must be because it would physically affect her.
Right. Matthew had been so concerned, so irrationally protective over her. He would never do something that could potentially hurt her.
"You should just sit down," Matthew said.
Of course, Ava took this opportunity to lean even closer. She couldn’t beat him in a fight but this might be different. She smirked when she saw him stiffen.
"You really think I wouldn’t dare kiss you first, right?" Ava asked. That must be the reason why he created that adsorb rule earlier. Perhaps, he really thought that Ava wouldn’t initiate because she still sees him as Josef and not Matthew.
Well... he was fucking wrong.
So... fucking wrong.
She leaned closer, their lips now almost touching. She could feel his tense breath touching her skin.
However, just as she was about to move a little closer, Matthew’s eyes suddenly changed. From golden to red.
The next thing she knew, Matthew was already on top of her, pinning her against the carpeted floor.
This time, he was on top, his face so close, his breath so hot. He put his leg in between hers, forcing it to open.
"No," Matthew was smirking as he looked down at her. "I knew you would kiss me," he said. "Because why wouldn’t you?"
Jerk! She thought.
This man was playing with her.
But before she could say something feisty, he lowered his face and smashed his lips against hers. The intensity of the kiss was something that she never expected.
She fucking thought he was avoiding having intercourse because of some unknown reason! So... why was he touching her now?
Ava wanted to complain but just ended up letting out a moan when his hand touched her core.
Then she cursed inwardly.
What the hell is this weird situation? She couldn’t help but asked herself as she kissed him back.
