Chapter 355: The Past and the Future 6

Ava blinked. She didn’t know how to process everything.

Right now, she was confused. What should she feel?

Surprise? Scared? Both?

She should feel both right?

But instead, the first thing that came into her mind is wondering if Matthew knew what she really was.

Is that the reason why he abruptly left?

Because he wanted her to know but didn’t have the heart to tell her?

At the thought of that, she suddenly feels sad, and betrayed.

But then again, Matthew didn’t really owe her anything, right? She wasn’t entitled to have anything from him.

She was just...

Again, she thought about the status of their relationship. Right. Mates.

Just mates.

Whatever the hell that means.

"I believe I should leave," Ava said. She could sense the people outside of the house and their anxiety.

That and the information that she had learned just now were a little too much.

Despite the fact that she had already guessed that she wasn’t human, hearing it from someone like the Priestess gave her complicated emotions. And she didn’t like that.

"Don’t you want to hear about the rest?"

"The rest?" Ava asked.

"You and him don’t belong in this world. One way or the other, the cosmos will find a way to remove you from this realm. The safest path is for you to stay inside a plane where the rules are different."

"Or move to another realm," Ava said. Now she understood Matthew’s weird questions about traveling to another realm. Suddenly, she felt a little tired.

Perhaps it was because of too much information? Or the fact that she wasn’t that smart and doesn’t know how to process the information that she just heard.

"Yes, moving to another realm is another option but not many people can do that. Dream walkers can if you are lucky you can find someone that could help you. Or... him." Priestess Anna said.

"But be more careful. The world may not be ready for you and him."

"What do you mean?" Ava asked.

"Mates..."

Ava’s eyes widened at the mention of the word.

The Shaman assured her that no one would notice her and Matthew’s bond. Not even Ulva was able to see the bond.

"Perhaps you thought no one would notice it? I would say, whoever hid it was pretty strong but I was not just a normal witch. I can see not just the past but the bonds that have existed in the past."

"You mean to say— "

"I am talking about the bond that had existed between the two of you, not just the bond that you have now. I can clearly see it. Time wasn’t enough to erase something that had existed for thousands of years. Do not worry, I am not someone that would create chaos in this world. I have no intentions of sharing the information with anyone else and exposing the life of the people that cared for me." Priestess Anna said.

"Though, I couldn’t help but anticipate the world’s reaction once they realized that you two are mates. Two souls that had been connected by a bond that goes beyond reason and logic." Priestess Anna smiled. "Interesting and very much something that could intimidate someone like me who had been hiding from the very own cosmos."

Ava blinked. Again, Matthew was telling her the truth about this woman!

She wondered if Matthew also realized the fact that Priestess Anna wouldn’t tell anyone about them because she too had been hiding from someone?

"I can only leave this place for a couple of days but if you need me," the Priestess said. "Please inform me," she gestured towards the large mirror that suddenly appeared in her living room. "I might not be as powerful as you and him but I will be there."

Ava nodded without saying a word. She had a feeling that the Priestess’s words would soon make sense.

"Farewell Miss Woods... I hope to see you again," the Priestess gave her a meaningful smile as she walked out of the door.

Just as she expected, there were already a lot of people waiting outside. Most of them were men, tall and burly and intimidating. But she had no time to deal with them now.

She approached both Jude and Francheska who was standing next to Chairman Tanik.

"We are leaving..." Ava said.

"What about Matthew?" Francheska asked.

"He already left."

"And the Priestess?" Chairman Tanik uttered. frёewebηovel.cѳm

"She’s inside. Alive and well."

Ava watched as the Chairman practically ran towards the house. As he walked inside, Ava held both Francheska and Jude’s shoulders.

Without warning, she teleported the three of them outside of the village and back into the cabin.

And then she immediately went towards Matthew’s room where she felt the latter’s presence.

Again, she created a barrier and squinted at him.

"You tricked me," Ava said.

"I didn’t."

"You scared the woman and know she’s not going to tell me anything about you."

"If you wanted to know anything about me, you could have just asked."

"You are not going to answer me!" she stomped on her feet, a loud thud echoed inside the room.

"How did you know? You haven’t even tried to ask me anything!"

Ava gritted her teeth. Then she removed the barrier and was about to leave the room when Matthew suddenly held her wrist then pushed her towards the door, her back against his chest.

"Where are you going?"

"Leaving..." she said. She realized that right now, she was angry at herself. That and she was confused. She wanted to vent but she wasn’t even sure if she could trust him.

She felt frustrated and for some reason, she felt useless. She had never felt something like this before.

"Let me go," she said.

"What did she tell you?" he asked.

"Are you really going to pretend that you weren’t listening?"

"I wasn’t."

"Liar."

He chuckled at that. "I was... for the most part," Matthew said.

"Jerk."

He let another chuckle.

"Oh yeah?"

"Yes, Matthew now let me go!"

"Not until you calm down..."

"I am calm!" she insisted.

"Right." Matthew narrowed the small distance between them. He was trapping her in between the wall and his large body.

When she said nothing, Matthew turned her around and pinned both of her wrists on top of her head.

"Tell me..." he ordered. "What is bothering you?"
