Chapter 375: Research 2

"You are— Are you the one responsible for the missing children?"

"No." Alpha John shook his head. "As immoral as I am, I do not hurt kids."

Jude narrowed. "Then the experiments— "

"Research." Alpha John interrupted him. "We call it research."

"They are experiments."

"No, they are not. They are just research... which will benefit the supernatural world."

"And how exactly would that benefit the supernaturals? Wouldn’t that only make it more chaotic? Wouldn’t it be harder to avoid the attention of humans?"

Alpha John smiled.

"Aren’t you tired of hiding... Mr. Caro?"

"Hiding?" Jude frowned. He already knew where this is going.

"Because I am." Alpha John said. "And so were everyone else around me. Even your father was tired of hiding from everyone. We are... the superior race. We could kill them in a blink of an eye. Why do we have to fear them? We are supposed to rule them."

Why indeed? Jude had asked himself once.

He was stronger and superior to humans and yet he was hiding with his tails tucked behind his back. Why are they scared of humans?

"Isn’t it because humans are intelligent? Isn’t it because once discovered, they would surely find ways to dismember us and use us to obtain strength? Humans do not only outnumber us. They tend to destroy something that they do not understand."

"Really Mr. Caro? Is that what you are going to say to your kids every night when they asked why they have to avoid showing their strength to humans? Is that what you are going to tell them once they asked why they couldn’t fight back?"

Undeniably, the Alpha’s words were very convincing. He isn’t only convincing but also very reasonable. Jude couldn’t argue with his reasonings at all!

Alpha John continued smiling.

"We are made to rule. That’s why are stronger and faster since we were born. God made us so we could rule the weaklings we call humans." Alpha John said. "The research that I am currently doing does not include the Keepers. Those humans are greedy. They wanted their race to be as powerful as ours. I would never let that happen."

"Are you saying that my father was involved with you and not the witches?" The witches were working with Keepers for the hybrids! Does this mean his father had another thing going on?

"Your father is just making sure that the Keepers couldn’t do what they wanted to do." frёewebnoѵēl.com

"So, he is basically spying for you."

"Spying is such a sinister term. I call it... doing his job. His job was to make sure that our race stays superior to witches and humans. So yes, he is just doing a job, a responsibility."

"You sent my father to spy on them?"

"Again... it wasn’t spying and I didn’t send your father to do something. He was doing it of his own accord. Of course, there were some payments involved— "

"The healing," Jude said. "My father— "

"Precisely. His healing capabilities are far more superior than yours."

"He could have escaped," Jude said. When they arrested his father, the man didn’t do anything when he could easily fight everyone else around him. "But he didn’t." That was because he didn’t want to reveal his healing abilities.

"Smart. I think I really made the right choice in talking to you about this matter."

"Since you are not the one taking children... are you the one experimenting on the rogues?"

"Before you chastise me please think that those rogues are wolves without a home. No one would miss them."

"You— "

"Again, I am only confident in telling you this because I know you wouldn’t say anything to anyone else. Even if you wanted to."

"You seemed so sure that I wouldn’t do that."

"Of course, you wouldn’t. I know you know my influence ran far and wide. I am not threatening you so please don’t get me wrong. I just want you to make all the right decisions. You have no proof and once you attempt to do something about us... your family will end up dead. And you... on the laboratory as our next specimen."

Seeing Jude’s face turn red, Alpha John started laughing.

"I am giving you time to decide. Think about the future tonight Mr. Caro. Tomorrow, we will have another conversation. I hope you will enjoy your stay, Mr. Caro." Alpha John got up and started walking towards the door. "Ah..." he stopped walking and looked back at Jude.

"Please do tell me if you happened to change your preference. We do have all kinds of wines. Fiery and sweet is not as popular but I am sure we still have something enough to satisfy your... tastes.

With a huge smirk on his face, Alpha John left the room with the speechless Jude.

Almost immediately Jude got up from his seat and walked towards the glass that would lead him to a nice small balcony. He looked at the starless night and then towards the forest that surrounded this place.

He started to think about his very own family. His father who he had grown to hate over the years, his brother was still in Trillium, and his sister is currently traveling the world wanting to become an ’influencer’. Though the two are just actually his half-siblings, their relationship had always been cordial.

They have always respected each other and see each other as real siblings. Jude knew that his siblings would want to reveal their existence to the world too. After all, this was one of the topics that they used to talk about when they were kids.

It would be very nice to actually have the humans accept them and the rest of the supernaturals. Having their own school for supernaturals would be fun. Seeing kids socialize without being scared that they would accidentally reveal their abilities is a very nice world.

And this made Alpha John’s offer very... very appetizing.

But then again, there are just things that they cannot change. Jude would like to be accepted too. However, he was sure that humans would find it very hard to accept something so incomprehensible, something that only existed in books and fantasy. Something like that would be called an abomination.

The religious would pray and say that they are the signs that the world is ending, while the people from the science society would do everything to obtain a sample of their flesh. The people sitting in the political chair would claim that they wanted power, and so they would tell their armies to find them and exterminate them.

Of course, the supernaturals would never allow them to win.

And once the supernaturals start to fight back, chaos would then ensue. Another world war would destroy countries and millions of lives.

Is he willing to put his family into that kind of trouble?

Jude has ambitions. But he also has limitations. And more importantly, he knows how to use his brain.

He let out a sigh and then went back inside the room.

"So..." Ava’s arrival didn’t actually surprise Jude. He already knew this would happen. "What do you think about the Alpha’s offer?" Ava asked with a large smile on his face.
