Chapter 430: The New King 6

"Do not touch the dagger!" Matthew immediately said when the Shaman was about to pull the dagger that impaled Ava’s chest.

"What— "

"No matter what you do. Never touch the dagger." Matthew had a dark look on his face as she carried Ava toward his room. He laid Ava on the bed and stroked her forehead. His red pupils were enough to prevent the Shaman from asking any questions.

"I have never thought that this dagger would be in this realm." The dagger that Matthew was talking about was a rusty dagger that looked so dirty no one would think it was special. It was, about six inches in length, and its handle looked iron yet Matthew knew it wasn’t. In fact, its handle isn’t something that can be seen in this realm.

It belonged to a realm so sinister and different that not one human could live inside that place. He even doubts that any human would survive a day in that realm.

"She’s not bleeding," the Shaman said. "But she’s in pain." He was standing next to Matthew, staring at Ava’s pale face.

"The dagger was designed to cause pain," Matthew said.

"The person who did it... seemed to explode. I haven’t seen of a magick like that." When they arrive, there were bits and pieces of flesh and bones everywhere. The smell of death surrounded the garden. At one point, he thought that the flesh belonged to...

Just the thought of it made him frown. Clearly, the person who did it wanted to kill Ava as the dagger had pierced her heart. And as sad as it sounded, Ava should have died from this attack.

But again... she’s not dead. No, she’s far from dead. Her face may look pale but her heart was breathing normally. She looked like she was just sleeping.

"The dagger is called the Dagger of Discord."

"Discord? Eris?"

Matthew snorted. "She would kill you if she heard you simply call her by her name."

"This dagger belonged to the Goddess of Discord Eris?"

"Yes. And it shouldn’t have been in this realm."

Greek Gods had been worshiped in the higher realms which is the reason why their presence is strong in those realms. The more people worship a god, the stronger their influence is in that realm. And since they aren’t as worshiped in this realm, their influence is weaker, to say the least.

Most people don’t even know who Eris is.

That means, her influence is even weaker than the rest of the gods and goddesses. So, why would a dagger that belonged to her come into this world?

Matthew narrowed. Eris is the Goddess of Discord. He liked creating trouble and was hated by everyone around her. Was she trying to create chaos by harming Ava?

Did she know about Matthew?

No. That’s impossible.

If she knew about him then he would raise a bigger hell and she would probably kill Ava immediately.

This only means one thing... the dagger came from another realm and was given to someone in this realm. And he could only think of one Lycan that had been interacting with people from another realm.

"Is there a way to save her?" the Shaman asked when he saw the sinister glint in Matthew’s scarlet red pupils.

Matthew said nothing. He just stared at Ava, wondering why someone would use the dagger on her. If they knew who she was, they knew that the dagger won’t cause any damage aside from making her sleep. Ava was a dream walker, the daughter of a guardian.

While the dagger is feared for its effects on both the victim and the one who wields it, it has no direct effect on people like Ava and Matthew. It had no effect on beings who had received the direct fragments of Gods and Goddesses that is even older and more powerful than Eris.

The dagger was made for people weaker than Eris and she usually used it to create some problems for the followers of other Gods and Goddesses. Clearly, the one who used it now didn’t know who Ava is and didn’t know what the dagger really is or how it really worked.

"We cannot do anything about it for now," Matthew said. We cannot remove the knife. Ava will somehow find a way to get out of the illusion. She needed to remove it on her own.

He had been too languid. He thought this plane is safer and becoming a King and the new owner of this plane meant a safer place for Ava to stay— a safer place where her father’s family cannot reach.

"We will go through with the event," Matthew said. "It is time to change the rules."

"The rules?"

"The Lycans... needed a wake-up call." Matthew got up. "It’s either they follow my rules inside this plane... or they die." He then looked at the Shaman. "Please keep her safe."

"Are you going to see the Queen?" he asked.

"I need to own this plane."

"Is that why you wanted to become the King?" The Shaman pursed his lips. The only way for Matthew to become the real owner of this realm is if he becomes a King. As a dream walker, the Shaman knew how to create his own plane but as he was on his last days, he was well aware that he isn’t capable of doing that. He had made a lot of research about this matter in the past and had learned a great secret.

There are three things that someone who isn’t a dream walker needed to own a plane.

First, they needed to become kings and be acknowledged by the occupants of that plane. They can do whatever they want to gain that is acknowledgeable. The only exception to this rule is if there were no occupants of that plane. The second thing is the core of that plane. Someone who isn’t a dream walker would find it very difficult to find the core. However, they can always ask the help of a dream walker to do this.

And third and most important thing is to imprint their name on the core of that plane. Meaning, they had to physically touch it, subdue it, and obey their bidding.

However, there is a common problem that other people who can’t dream walk face and that is the will of the plane. A plane without any occupants or living beings is a very weak plane. Meaning, subduing it shouldn’t be a problem.

However, a plane with many occupants such as the plane that they are currently in right now has a very strong will. Subduing it would be very difficult.

This is also the reason why not many people would succeed in doing this.

From the Shaman’s research, even the Gods and Goddesses would find it hard to subdue a plane’s will. So, he was certain that it wouldn’t be that easy for Matthew to do it as well.

This is another reason why most Gods and Goddesses and even dream walkers would rather make their own planes than own a plane that already existed for who knew how long in the cosmos.

Matthew gave him a stern look.

"You do understand that trying to subdue a plane such as this is... almost impossible, right?" the Shaman said. "It could kill you...and your essence. You are not complete so— "

"It’s the only way," Matthew said. "It’s the only way to keep her safe."
