Chapter 436: The New King 12

"You are going to— " the old Patriarch de Cene narrowed at Matthew. Just like everyone else, he almost couldn’t believe what he just heard. "Your majesty, I think it is you who have forgotten something. The King isn’t a King without his subjects. How could you threaten your subjects and not fear any retaliation from them? How could you threaten your subjects and don’t expect any revolution?"

His words didn’t seem to affect Matthew. But that was already expected. He glared at him.

"The King is clearly— "

"Old Patriarch... " Matthew interrupted him. He walked towards the old patriarch, a smile appeared on his face. "Let me remind you something..."

Matthew continued.

"You chose me to become the King..."Matthew said. "Because I am the strongest."

"And if you really think that I am nothing without my subjects then... please feel free to leave."

"Leave!?" the old de Cene blurted. "You think we are going to give up everything just to give you want!? Your Majesty, it seems that you are underestimating us!"

Matthew squinted. The smile on his face vanished. As if on cue, a few people wearing black walk into the hall. This immediately caused some panic as their presence was very intimidating and frightening to some.

"Your Majesty, please remember... it was you who forced me to do this. You actually made a witch into the Queen and you even change the laws of the ones before you. Don’t blame me for being ruthless! I am going to show you that you are nothing without your subjects!"

"Is that so!?" Matthew lifted an eyebrow. The frown on his face didn’t last too long as he smiled at the old Patriarch. Then he looked at the other nobles. "If you want to fight with the patriarch, go to his side. If you want to fight with me then stay behind my back. The old Patriarch seemed to have become senile. He wanted to revolt against the crown."

After Matthew said those words, a few more people inside the ballroom hall went toward the patriarchs.

"Everyone!" the patriarch of the de Cene family said. "Do not fret. I am not going to hurt anyone. Today, I am just here to— "

"But I am." Matthew interrupted him. The patriarch immediately scowled at Matthew.

"What’s that supposed to mean?"

"I said... I will kill everyone who chose to side with you, Patriarch. Isn’t that a simple... statement!?"

"You— "

"Your Majesty, allow us to fight with you!" One of the noble families moved behind Matthew. Sensing the situation, many of the Lycans chose not to move and chose a side. Obviously, Matthew is really strong. How could they let go of a King like that?

The alliance that they had years ago happened because they wanted someone to protect them. To them, Matthew is the perfect protector. So... why would they leave the Kingdom and the alliance?

"Your majesty, I think this is a misunderstanding."

"Your majesty, patriarch... we should calm down..."

"This is just— "

The person wasn’t able to finish his sentence when Matthew suddenly disappeared and appeared next to one of the people wearing black.

**THWACK**

Matthew’s sharp fingers penetrated into one of the men wearing black. Sounds of surprises echoed and someone shouted as Matthew pulled his hand, revealing the man’s still beating heart.

The smell of blood and something sinister immediately blanketed the atmosphere.

Matthew then beamed at everyone.

"What have you done!" the old Patriarch yelled. He didn’t see Matthew when he declared himself King so he only heard about what happened then. Obviously, he thought that those people were only exaggerating things. How could someone be that powerful?

But the thing that Matthew did just now immediately gave him goosebumps. Something about Matthew had changed. He didn’t know what it was. He wasn’t sure what part of Matthew had changed either. But he could feel it.

The intimidating aura that only kings have, doubled. No. It tripled.

His pupils shook as Matthew dropped the heart. Then Matthew tilted his head towards the patriarch. "Sorry... what were you saying?"

The patriarch opened his mouth. He wanted to say something, anything. But he couldn’t no. He can’t say another word.

He felt like his arms and legs somehow became numbed. The only sound that he could hear was his loud heartbeat.

He frowned.

Then he watched as Matthew vanished and reappeared next to another person. In a few seconds, Matthew already got the person’s heart. This was akin to a wake-up call for the Patriarch.

"Kill him!" he shouted. That was the only thing that he could say as his adrenaline spiked. Anger erupted inside him. How could he let someone so young humiliate him and his people!?

"Kill him! Bring me his head!" the patriarch said.

But how could Matthew give them the opportunity to even touch him!?

Matthew was smiling as he moved from one person’s side to another, taking their hearts as if it was nothing but nuts. Seeing the carnage that Matthew had caused, many of the nobles finally reacted. Obviously, their priority is their safety. So, they immediately dragged their family members to the side, frightened that they will get caught up in the chaos.

Some of them just laid ducked and covered their heads as they feared that Matthew would accidentally kill them when they weren’t involved in all this mess.

Even the ones who moved to the Patriarch’s side earlier didn’t hesitate to show their support to the patriarch. What if Matthew would reappear next to them and take their hearts!? His method of killing was too direct. It was too brutal. Moreover, Matthew found his mate!

How could they even fight someone like that!?

It was always known that a Lycan who found his mate and was able to mark them at their own would is just on a completely different level than something like them.

"How could you do this!" Patriarch de Cene bellowed when he saw one of his elders die. Right now, the ballroom hall had totally become so chaotic— not with people running around but with dead bodies and men in black trying to catch Matthew.

In the end.... All the men wearing black fell on the floor.
