Chapter 438: I Am His Mate 2

Ava’s POV

Ava frowned when she realized that she had been stabbed. She opened her eyes and wondered if she had died.

She felt the dagger reach her heart as her consciousness drifted away. She couldn’t help but wonder if that was indeed her end.

Wasn’t it too anticlimatic?

She hadn’t even seen who attacked her!

Plus, she had a lot of things to do.

Just what the hell happened!?

Most importantly, where is she now?

She looked around and realized that she was inside a room— a victorian room? The canopies and the cloth drape didn’t make sense to her.

She was no expert when it comes to interior design so she didn’t know what century is the design in. But it reminded her of a princess bedroom. It was large— too large.

It was quiet and well— too peaceful for her taste.

She eyed the large door and wondered if she had somehow reincarnated into another dimension. Perhaps she transmigrated into another body of a princess?

Was that even possible?

She’s a dream walker so—

She swallowed.

What about Matthew?

What would happen if—

"Whatever it is that you are thinking, you are wrong."

Ava’s head turned towards her left. The woman not far away from her was a surprise. She didn’t sense the woman earlier! The woman was sitting in what looked like a luxurious chair made of velvet. She had blond hair and a teacup in her hand.

Though, the absence of tea on the cup was pretty obvious.

"Who are you?" Ava asked when she noticed the woman’s golden orbs.

Wait... why does the woman look like her?

"Shouldn’t you already know the answer to your question?" the woman asked, her tone almost too sweet and sickly, it made Ava frown.

What the hell is wrong with this woman?

She sat on the bed and realized that she was wearing a white silk nightgown. Fancy, she thought as she started walking towards the woman.

"I don’t know why you are imitating my face but it’s not funny," Ava sat opposite the woman.

Her words, however, only made the woman giggle.

"Oh, Ava...." The woman shook her head and put the teacup on the coffee table that looked too fancy to be just a coffee table. Ava’s expression turned ugly. What the hell is wrong with this woman?

For some reason, the woman’s golden eyes made her irritated. It reminded her of Matthew’s eyes. Obviously, the fact that this woman looked like her with Matthew’s eyes didn’t sit well with her.

Should she just kill her?

"Please stop thinking about killing me. I can hear your thoughts," the woman rolled her eyes. Wait... why does she look elegant even if she’s already rolling her eyeballs!?

"I said stop criticizing me in your head." The woman said.

"I’m not."

"I can hear your thoughts."

Ava immediately lifted an eyebrow. Then she narrowed her eyes. Was she a doppelganger? Wasn’t she supposed to kill her doppelganger?

"Please Ava, can you just stop thinking weird things? I have always wanted to meet you but now— "

"I don’t think I would want to meet someone that looked like me," Ava said. Isn’t that too weird? Unless of course... "Are you my sister?" Like a twin sister? Her eyes immediately widened.

"Please don’t... no. It’s getting too weird." The woman said. "Let me introduce myself. I am— "

"You could have done that earlier, you know." Ava interrupted her.

"What?"

"Introduce yourself? That’s etiquette. Introduce yourself to people you just met."

"You— "

"So what’s your name?"

"Eve. I am Eve."

"So like a twin sister?" Wait did she say, Eve? Did— Josef used to call her Eve, right!? Does this mean—

"No. No... I am not your sister and will you please stop thinking like that and listen to me?" Eve said, irritation apparent in her voice. She sounded like a teacher who got tired of telling her students to stop running around.

Eve rolled her eyes when she heard Ava’s thoughts.

"You really compared me to a teacher?" Eve said.

"You look like one."

"I look like you."

"So are we sisters?" And what happened to her? Did she die? What is this place? If Eve died then what about Ava? Did she die too? And why is she talking to her like this? Is this heaven or something?

For some reason, Ava knew that she was not going to heaven. She’s got too much blood on her hands for that.

"This isn’t heaven or hell. This is just your consciousness." Eve said. "And we are not sisters. We are... one."

"Huh?"

"You and I— we are one."

"I don’t— "

"I am the mate of Matthew’s Lycan."

"So you are— "

Eve shook her head.

"I am not a different entity Ava. I am you and you are me. Isn’t that too simple?"

Ava frowned. It might be simple to some people but she’s not that smart, to begin with so....

"So, we are inside my consciousness?"

Eve nodded at her.

"Was it because I got stabbed?" she asked.

Again, Eve nodded.

"Then.... Am I going to die?"

This time, Eve shook her head.

"Then... are you going to tell me what is happening?"

"The seal inside your body is currently being destroyed by the dagger. It might hurt like hell but you have to endure. You have to live."

Ava blinked at Eve.

"You just told me I am not going to die."

"You’re not. But it might cripple you so..."

"That’s not very reassuring is it?"

"It’s not." Eve shook her head. "But that’s not the important part right now."

"My life isn’t the important part?" Ava lifted an eyebrow. Eve immediately looked at her, exhaustion apparent in her eyes.

"That’s not the point."

"Then what is the point!?" Ava asked.

"The point is... the seal inside you is undoing itself. You and I will become one."

"And?" The woman just told her they were already one! This is too confusing for her simple brain!

"You will get powers that might destroy your body so listen to me... and listen carefully."
