"A seal in my body?" Why would someone seal her body?
"The seal had separated us in the past. But that is no longer the case now. Once we became one, our body will become stronger, more powerful but this meant more problems is about to come."
"What?"
"Some people will know of our existence the moment we walk into their realms."
"You mean when I walk back on Earth?"
"Yes."
"What are you trying to say?"
"People might come after you," she said. "But fret out. Our mate will protect us."
"Who?" Ava asked. "Who will come after me!?"
"Sadly, I am just as clueless as you. I am not created to relay a piece of information but to guard the seal. I am to appear only if the seal is about to break. The only reason why I am here is so I could tell you what to do the moment you wake up — the moment we wake up in our body."
"That— " Was it like Matthew!? Was she some sort of... a goddess too? Alright, focus, she thought inwardly. She needed to think. She needed to focus.
"Do not trust anyone, " Eve said. "You can only trust him."
"Matthew?"
"He is our mate. It is only reasonable to trust him."
"What about the people that are going to kill me?" Ava asked.
"Again— "
"Alright. I get it. Then what about you?"
For a few minutes, Eve turned quiet. Then she sighed. "I don’t think would survive. Usually, the one with the strongest personality would win but— well you are clearly stronger than me."
"Right." Ava nodded.
"So, I will disappear but there might be some changes in your body. I cannot be sure. All I know is the fact that you needed to be with Matthew. You have to be near him or our body won’t be able to take it."
"Why?"
"The urge will be stronger now."
"Urge?"
"We are now complete. The seal has been broken. So you will normally feel what a normal Lycan would feel towards their mate. Lust, extreme possessiveness, and— "
"Whoa— you mean to say that the bond will increase?"
"Yes."
"And what about the other people around us?"
"They will feel it. Not many Lycans have that bond. That would intimidate them."
Ava blinked. Then she blinked again. The one who stabbed her really needed to die! She vowed to catch him and probably cook his body and feed him to the dogs or something.
She swallowed and stared at the woman with the same exact face as hers. It looked weird. It looked so freaking weird. But for some reason, a part of her somehow felt happy? As if she was excited to see her.
Now that she thought about it, her heart had been beating so fast as she stared at Eve.
"What about my ability?" Ava said.
"You will become stronger and adapt some abilities of a Lycan."
"Am I a Lycan?" she asked.
"No. Why would you even think that?"
"Just curious." Ava couldn’t help but shrug. freewebnovel-cσ๓
"Well, we are not a Lycan."
Ava nodded. "Then.... What about my magick? Lycans and magick don’t really mix together."
"It will become stronger. Though... the stronger the magick, the more unstable it will be."
"So, I am going to find it hard to control it." Again. Growing up, she already struggled to control her magick. How pathetic.
"No. I am not talking about that magick— I am not talking about the human magick."
"Then what magick are you talking about?" Ava asked. This time, Eve didn’t say a word. She just stared at her.
"Being with the child of the night and shadow will be hard," Eve said. "But no matter what happens, you must remember, you are his mate. You are one with him. You were in the past and you will be in the future. There is simply no escaping fate."
Fate....
Ava snorted inwardly.
That is such a big word.
So far, she felt like fate was just messing with her.
How absurd.
"Do you want to have some tea?" Eve asked.
Ava didn’t know what to say. They had been talking for as long as she can remember but this is the first time that Eve asked her to have some tea.
"No thanks."
"In a few hours, we will become one. And I am going to disappear completely. I can only hope that we will survive this upcoming storm together," Eve said.
"Upcoming storm?"
Again, Eve responded with a mysterious smile which only irritated Ava.
Then she felt it.
She felt something heavy on her chest. It felt like another human was sitting on top of her. Ava’s face turned ugly, she touched her chest and patted it.
Was it the dagger?
She turned towards Eve but she realized that the woman had vanished.
She was now alone in the large room.
"Remember— " Eve’s voice echoed inside the room. "You must.... Remember."
"Huh?" Ava looked around. It sounded like Eve was just standing next to her but she couldn’t see anyone.
Then the pain started. Ava’s face contorted when she realized something. Eve told her all about the fusion and what to do next. But she didn’t tell Ava about the pain!
Fuck! Ava thought inwardly. It was too damn painful, she felt like someone is using a dull knife to cut away her flesh bit by bit!
She opened her mouth into a silent scream. Viens protruded on her forehead. Then she felt herself falling on the floor.
’Bitch!’ she cursed inwardly.
’You should have warned me about the pain!’ Ava thought.
She heard a crack then a mind-shattering pain assaulted her whole body. She screamed and hugged her chest as she cursed over and over. Why was it so painful?
Seconds turn into minutes and soon the minutes turned into hours.
Yet to Ava, it was an eternity of pain— excruciating pain that made her doubt everything in her life. When the pain vanished, Ava felt like losing consciousness. But she recalled Eve’s warnings.
No. She’s not going to lose this battle, she thought inwardly.
