CURRENT TIME
Ava walked towards Matthew, a smile plastered on her face. frёeweɓηovel_coɱ
Their golden eyes met and it was as if something inside her awakened. She gulped, her heart drummed against her ribcage. Something about Matthew is different.
His eyes looked so beautiful, his smile looked so dazzling. She felt lost. And weirdly turn on.
Fuck, she recalled what Eve told her about lust and possessiveness.
She didn’t know that this would become a problem. Matthew was surrounded by blood, literally. There were dead bodies around him. There was even blood on his arm and some splatter of blood on his face. Yet, here she was, acting like a damn teenager!
Wait. This scene would never turn on a damn teenager!
Why does it feel like she’s some pervert?
"Mate!? Do you really think we are fools! A witch and a Lycan!?" Patriarch de Cene’s voice interrupted her thoughts. Almost immediately, anger erupted inside her head. A part of her was angry that the old man was interrupting her!
Does that even made sense?
Of course, Ava immediately shook the thoughts out of her head. She needed to focus!
Seriously! Matthew’s presence was becoming a problem! It was simply too... distractive!
"Everyone! Do you really believe this nonsense!? How could a witch— a servant witch— "
"There was no oath..." Ava said. She felt Matthew’s gaze on her side profile but she chose to ignore it. In the end, it took all of her self-control to stop herself from looking back.
Focus, she chanted inwardly.
This is a serious scene, she added. How could she think about fucking him right then and there?
"I was never Matthew’s servant or his witch. I am simply his mate." She gestured and the spell that masked their bond disappeared. It was as if it was never there in the first place!
However, now that it disappeared, everyone immediately felt a refreshing yet different bond between them. They couldn’t see it but to most of them, Matthew and Ava felt the same. It was as if they were two sides of the same coin.
"Impossible!" Erenes gasped. As a powerful witch, she sensed the bond now and realized that Ava and Matthew are telling the truth.
Ava was Matthew’s mate!
But... how?
Why?
What happened?
She had so many questions inside her head but all she could do was stare and marvel at the different aura that surrounded the two.
At that time, Erenes realized that the reason why Matthew declared Ava his queen isn’t just because he fell in love with her. It was because she was the rightful Queen. The mate of the King.
She looked at everyone around them and just like her, many of them were confused. Some people were clearly angry while some were just speechless without any reaction on their faces.
"That cannot be!" the patriarch said. "That is not possible! Don’t you dare trick us! You are a witch! Did you really think we are going to believe something like this!? Stop lying! Stop tricking us! We are Lycans, a mere trick like this won’t work."
"He’s helpless," Ava muttered. Finally, she looked at the man who had been staring at her since she arrived. She met his golden gaze. "What?"
"You look beautiful," Matthew said.
"I don’t think this is the time for that."
"Really?" he smirked and leaned forward. To her surprise, Matthew suddenly gave her a quick kiss.
"You— " Was this even proper? Ava couldn’t stop herself from blushing. Her cheeks burned, her heartbeat raced. Her blood was humming with joy.
"Should we just— leave?"Matthew asked.
"What?"
Matthew didn’t answer her, instead, he turned towards the Patriarch and smiled.
"How unlucky," Matthew said. Then he vanished from Ava’s side and appeared next to the Patriarch. Without saying another word, he hit some points in the patriarch’s chest and the older man fell on the floor, unconscious. Matthew then looked at Erenes and Drigo who were standing not far away from him.
"Take him to the dungeons."
"What about the rest? Are you just going to leave like this?"
"Oh..." Matthew nodded, clearly disinterested. He got up and looked at the other people in the ballroom hall. "This is your last chance. You can leave the alliance and the Kingdom or you follow my rules."
There was another silence.
Then someone kneeled on the floor.
Then another.
And another.
It didn’t take too long for the rest of the Lycans and witches to kneel on the floor.
"All hail the King of the Lycans!" someone shouted.
"All hail the Queen of the Lycans!"
Almost immediately the crowd followed.
"All hail the King of the Lycans!"
"All hail the Queen of the Lycans!"
The two of them looked at each other before Matthew appeared before her. Then he held her right hand and lifted it towards his lips. After kissing the back of her palm, he smiled.
"Welcome back... my Queen," he said. "I have been waiting."
Ava’s pupils shook. But she responded with another smile. "I didn’t mean to let you wait... my King." For some reason, there was a part of her that knew this was the right answer to his words.
Slowly, Matthew leaned closer and kissed her lips. This time, the kiss wasn’t as short as the kiss that he gave her earlier. Ava closed her eyes as she responded.
Until now, she still didn’t understand what Eve’s words meant. What enemies? What fate? But she didn’t care.
The kiss made her realize that what matters most is the man standing in front of him, her man, her king. The only thing that mattered was her Matthew.
As for the future?
She would be there to face it. Except, she’s not going to be alone.
Matthew is with her.

The man who was holding the Handle of the fishing pole frowned as caught sight of his reflection. His hair was no longer long, his face was now clean-shaven. He looked so different than the man to whom Matthew talk not too long ago. Yet, his deep eyes weren’t really looking at his handsome reflection but at his green gemlike eyes. More specifically, he was staring at the flash of gold that glinted in his eyes.
Then he let out a loud sigh.
"She’s awake," he thought. She was able to destroy the seal.
