When Alpha Trystan and the rest of the Werewolf community heard about the new Queen, they almost couldn’t believe their ears. How could they?
Lycans were known to look down on witches. Even if they somehow made changes and suddenly became more accepting of the witches, the werewolves didn’t expect them to actually pick a witch as their Queen. What a foolish decision!
However, they were forced to wait. They couldn’t just ridicule them on their plane. Moreover, they were concerned that the Lycans are planning something else.
Because of their many assumptions, they decided not to accompany the others as they confront the Lycans.
For some reason, they were almost sure that the Lycans are planning something inside their plane. Then they discovered that the Lycans actually announced it so they could tell everyone about the existence of those experiments! Not only this, they revealed the existence of people who came from other realms!
Naturally, this made the others who were involved in these experiments panic! they immediately wondered how the Lycans found out about it. Was it possible that one of them is feeding pieces of information to the Lycans?
That cannot be!
Most of them had been profiting from these experiments! How could they just give out information that would ruin everyone!?
However, Trystan knew that the possibility of someone betraying them was high.
Even Alpha Trystan panicked for a few moments when he saw the proof that other Lycans gave to everyone! He saw the images, and he knew that the Lycans had really done a thorough investigation about the matter.
Then they dropped another bomb.
They are willing to accept other kinds of inside the plane! They wanted to create a community, a place for all supernaturals!
The announcement immediately made everyone wonder what was happening. Why would the Lycan suddenly offer such conditions? Do they know something that the others don’t? Are the aliens — the people from other realms intending to invade Earth?
If so, are the Lycans trying to protect the supernaturals by asking them to move to the realm?
Trystan never thought that one announcement was actually enough to give him more problems, more than he could ever imagine.
Much smaller Alpha’s immediately decided to move. A community for the supernaturals sounded better than anything outside of it. This shifter had been trying their best to coexist with the humans. So, when Matthew gave them the option to move, they immediately took the chance to move.
Second is the fact that now, many people are starting to doubt the authority of the bigger packs. The packs have been investigating the matter of the rogues for years! Yet, they weren’t able to come up with something!
But for some reason, the Lycans did?
The Lycans just started to investigate the matter a couple of weeks ago!
What is going on?
Then the other werewolves started asking him about his involvement in the experiments.
How could they treat him as if he was a criminal that needed to prove his innocence?
Obviously, he gave them a vague answer with false promises. Sadly, this didn’t work this time.
The werewolves started questioning him and his authority.
This created a massive issue in the werewolf community.
The fact that they have been asking everyone for money for their protection came back to bite their assess.
And Trystan didn’t like that.
He immediately had a meeting with the other alphas of bigger packs and they all agreed to visit the Lycans. They needed to make it clear to them and tell them not to interfere in their issues.
To their surprise, the one who welcomed them was not Matthew.
It was the new Queen.
Ava Woods.
Trystan narrowed at the woman.
He had hated her since he met her.
"I can’t say I understand what you are trying to say, Alpha." Ava Woods smiled at him after he told her his concern about their sudden offer. Ava was sitting on Matthew’s throne. Her legs were crossed on top of each other and she was resting her chin on her palm as she looked down at them from her seat.
Clearly, the woman was mocking him. No. She wasn’t just mocking him. She was looking down on him!
He forced his anger down his throat.
"Miss Woods, the Werewolf community wanted to know more about the offer that the Lycans just announced a couple of days ago. As the Alphas of the strongest werewolves in the world, we just wanted to make sure that your offer is not something that could benefit our kind. Many of the smaller packs had been thinking of moving into the plane, so we wanted to know your offers. How are they going to continue living? And how are you going to fund everything?"
These are legitimate concerns about the living situations of the werewolves. Obviously, he was very familiar with these concerns, as he too had been wondering the same thing about them. He wanted to know.
The Lycans had been in isolation for so many years. And now, they wanted to create a place for all supernaturals?
How the hell are they going to fund that?
"I can assure you Alpha Trystan, the Lycans have enough funds to create a plane. Since the announcement, there has been an influx of shifters and witches who arrived. We realized that our initial count may be very wrong. There are a lot of witches and shifters who didn’t join packs and just wander around the world trying to blend in. So if the werewolves don’t want to come then, I see no problem with that."
"What?" Not only did she not answer his question. She directly told him that they will not force the werewolves to come? "You wanted to unify the supernatural world and yet you immediately say words like that when met with a question. Was that something that a new Queen should do?"
"First, I don’t have the time to explain something that is already written in the manuals that we have given out."
"Manual?"
"You didn’t ask, so you didn’t receive one." Ava smiled at him.
Trystan’s jaw dropped.
"Second, the Werewolves have the option of coming or not. We will not force anyone to move inside the plane."
"And third..." Ava narrowed. "The Lycans and Trillium have decided to launch a new investigation about the rogues and the experimentation. We discovered that... many of the bigger packs might be involved. Do you really think we would let anyone who experiments on their kind live with us?"
"What investigation?" Alpha Trystan asked, his face twisted with rage. "What investigation are you talking about?"
Ava only smiled in response. "Sadly, I cannot tell you anything without any solid proof."
"What?"
"Isn’t it best that you wait for the initial result? We will— "
"That’s stupid!" Trystan said. "Did you really expect us to sit down and wait for the initial result?"
"Why not?" Ava blinked innocently. "Are you perhaps... scared that we will find out something? Are you perhaps trying to hide something, Alpha Trystan?"
"What?" Trystan felt like a large rock was stuck in his throat. He glared at Ava. He could feel his face slowly turning red, and he hated it. The woman really wanted to embarrass him!
"We are not hiding something! However, investigating us without even informing us is an enormous breach of trust! How could the Lycans do something so illogical? Was this because you have seen yourself superior to us?" he countered. He wanted to rile up the other alphas, but to his surprise, most of them didn’t seem to care about his words.
"Was it because your King sees himself as someone stronger than us?" he added. "Are you looking down on the werewolves?" he immediately used the same strategy that he had been using for some time now. He wanted the others to react to Ava’s words and the best thing to do that is to mention the past.
"Alpha Trystan, if I am not wrong... the werewolves asked for our help," Ava said. "At that time, it was decided that His majesty will take care of the rogues. His majesty always keeps his word. This isn’t because we are looking down on you. We just wanted to keep our promise."
Trystan gritted his teeth. How could she make everything sound simple? This was clearly a scheme! A scheme to ruin the hierarchy and peace inside the werewolf community!
They must have planned this ahead of time! He thought inwardly.
This woman is a schemer, an absolute schemer! It wouldn’t surprise him to know that this was all Ava’s scheme! But what was she plotting behind the scenes?
Was she planning to become the Queen of the supernaturals?
What a stupid assumption, he thought inwardly. That is impossible. How could a witch like her even think of something like that?
"His majesty wanted peace. How could he let the rogues continue to cause chaos in the supernatural world?" Ava asked. "His majesty just wanted to deal with the rogues but instead of thanking him, you assume he was just looking down on your kind? Alpha Trystan, it seems that it was you who are looking down on us."
"What?"
"First you came in here and start to accuse us of scheming behind your back. You came here without even reading the information that we have given out ahead of time. Then you demand that we answer your question. And when backed up to the corner, you start to talk about the past, trying to rile up the emotions of your peers. Is that something that an Alpha like you should do?"
