The Alpha gritted his teeth. He wanted to say more, but after reading the atmosphere inside the room, he decided to back down.
Ava was very good at twisting his words. Speaking more would only upset the rest of the group and would surely make them more suspicious. Clearly, the woman came out prepared.
"Do you want to say something?" Ava lifted her chin. Slowly, a smirk appeared on her face. "I am listening." This time, she was clearly taunting him. He had no time for this.
"With all due respect, Miss Woods..."
"She is our Queen. Calling her Miss Woods is not only disprespecting her but to the other Lycans," Drigo suddenly chimed in. He had been standing a few feet away from Ava, listening to the conversation. "Are you saying that you and the others do not respect our Queen?"
"That- " Trystan gritted his teeth. Drigo became the King, but he soon gave the seat to Matthew and Ava. Obviously, he didn’t understand this and even looked down at Drigo.
So what if he was stronger than Trystan and the other werewolves? He was still acting like a fool! But then they heard that Ava was actually Matthew’s mate.
A mate!
How could they believe such nonsense?
If they wanted to lie, they could actually use another reason! Why make up unbelievable stories like that? Did the Lycans think they were stupid or something?
He narrowed at Drigo, then looked at Ava.
"Please forgive me... Your majesty." He bowed his head. The thing is, Ava cornered him just now. The woman was pretty good at twisting his words and finding fault in everything that he says. It was pretty inconvenient to show his actual intentions now.
"Apology accepted," Ava smirked at him. "You should take care of yourself, Alpha Trystan. It looks like you have developed some problems in your head when, in fact, you are still considered young. Perhaps, consult some witch who specializes in curses. I have seen this case in Africa in the past. It turns out that the shifter developed some health issues because of a deadly curse that would not just make them forgetful. It would make them... lose their drive down there."
He held his breath. Ava was making fun of him. She knew that he intentionally called Miss Woods to provoke her. But now... she’s making it look like Trystan was ill or something!
The thing is, he couldn’t just refute her words!
"I thank her majesty for her concern."
"You are very welcome," Ava’s red lips lifted up. "Well? Do you have any other concerns?"
"I— "
"We do," another Alpha said. "In fact, we do."
"State your name and pack," Ava said.
"I am Alpha Rudie Grieshof from Germany."
"Welcome to our humble abode, Alpha Grieshof."
"Please call me Alpha Gries your majesty." Alpha Gries said. "We are one of the packs who had been considering moving on the plane. So... I am concerned about the plaque that was mentioned before. It was said that the plaque would act like the entrance pass?"
And just like that, the other Alpha’s also raised their concern about the announcement that the Lycans just made a couple of days ago. Many of them were really curious as to how the Lycans would manage the supernaturals that would live inside the plane.
Another concern that was raised was the fact that they had to surrender a little bit of their authority to the Lycans. The Lycans assured them that they have the choice not to swear their allegiance. They can still visit the plane but they cannot create a manor or a residence inside the plane.
Moreover, they cannot take advantage of the upcoming establishments inside this plane. It was said that the Lycans are planning to establish a school for the shifters and the witches. They do not need to join a coven or a pack to be able to join the school! Naturally, this idea was very attractive to lone shifters and lone witches who lived alone and were not a member of any coven or packs.
The best thing about this is the fact that the lone witches and their families, as well as the lone shifters, aren’t required to swear allegiance to the Lycans! All they needed is to register as a citizen and get a citizen card and start paying their taxes!
Obviously, this didn’t sit well with other shifters and witches.
Many of them thought that this was a rash decision that was made to undermine the other shifters’ and witches’ authority. Why would the Lycans invite the lone shifters and witches and even allow them to take advantage of the establishment? Why would they allow them to create a residence inside the plane?
What about the packs and the covens who wanted to move into the plane without swearing allegiance or signing a deal with the Lycans?
Ava only smiled when they raised their concern.
Then she quickly explained that the treatment is different because lone shifters and lone witches like her adopted mother Gabriella had suffered some unfair treatment from the packs and coven. Ava knew how they were treated by other covens after becoming a lone witch. She had seen the looks; she had felt the disgust of other people.
Because of this, she decided to give the supernaturals who chose not to become a member of those groups a chance to live in peace. These people just wanted to exist! They wanted to live, to survive! Yet the packs and covens are giving them a hard time just because they refuse to submit to them!
They tried to argue but Ava only smiled in response and told them the rules weren’t changing and they were welcome to leave any time but causing trouble inside this plane meant they and their families will never be able to set foot inside the plane.
This was enough to intimidate the rest.
After all, the atmosphere on Earth has been changing because of experiments and other problems in the supernatural world. Many of them wanted a place to live, a place where they can be themselves.
