"That is not fair," an Alpha from Russia said. "Did they really expect us to just give them our allegiance?"
"That is the least that they could do. They are not actually asking for our freedom or for any other authority to manage our packs. They just want us to be there for the plane once a war happens. Just like what any country should ask their citizens."
"This plane — most of it is still unexplored." Another Alpha said. "This is because the Lycans already have fewer numbers than other shifters. Moreover, the previous King only allowed each clan to build a manor inside and then go to the Earth’s Realm to build their empires."
Hearing the other Alpha converse made Trystan frown. He expected many people to be upset about the things that the Lycans said, but he was wrong. In fact, many of them were actually on the Lycan’s side. They somehow understood everything and still plan to come live on the plane.
After all, it was only natural for the Lycans to ask them to help defend the plane once something happens.
"We need to leave this place," Trystan said. He needed to come up with something that would stop most shifters from moving into this place!

Meanwhile, Ava narrowed her eyes toward the group of Werewolves that were discussing the situation as they walked away from the palace. If she focused enough, she could hear everything that they had been saying. When she was a witch, her hearing was already pretty good, but not this good.
She was certain that this was because she now owned this plane.
"Hm?" Ava lifted an eyebrow as she looked to her left. She couldn’t see anyone, but her senses were pretty sure. Someone is watching her.
Someone powerful.
In fact, this wasn’t the first time that she felt this. When this person arrived, she felt his humongous powers. She knew that whoever it was wasn’t just a normal person. It’s not a witch or a shifter.
Was it someone like the Shaman? Or someone like Matthew?
"You were pretty good back then," Drigo’s voice echoed behind her. She looked at Matthew’s older brother. For some reason, she felt that Drigo had been avoiding her since she arrived. "But they didn’t believe you are Matthew’s mate." Drigo continued. "They must have thought this was some sort of... a scheme. That we just created some lies to try to entice them."
"Entice them?" she lifted an eyebrow at the man. Entice them with what? Aside from the place to live with, they have nothing. At least not yet.
"There was once a legend... I am certain the older werewolves have heard it as well."
"A legend?" ƒгeewebnovёl_com
"An old one. You probably haven’t heard of it."
Ava smiled. Drigo was more than a hundred years old. Naturally, the man had heard many legends that she hadn’t heard of.
"It was said that the curse of the Lycans started in Sodom and Gomorrah..."
"I think— "
"I bet you haven’t heard the rest."
"The rest?"
"One of the reasons why Lycans hated the witches was because of the curse. But there was actually another reason why the Lycans have kept the witches by their side."
"What is it?"
"It was said that only another witch can remove the curse from the Lycans."
"Well, that is reasonable."
"A witch... mated to a Lycan."
Ava looked at him. "I haven’t heard of that."
"That’s because we never included that in the stories. Why would we? We have enslaved witches for years. It wouldn’t make sense if we start telling them they can save us."
Ava nodded at that. Obviously, she understood why the Lycans would never include something like that in the legends. Moreover, a witch and a Lycan sounded so impossible. How could someone whose weakness is magick have a mate who uses magick?
"Many of the older generations have laughed about it. Some of them have forgotten about this part of the legends as well. But when we found out that you are Matthew’s mate, everything changed." Drigo stared into her eyes.
Ava frowned. She didn’t understand why the Lycans would just accept her. She thought there will be a civil war or something. But for them to actually accept her as a queen?
"But those are nothing but legends," she said.
"A legend is better than having no hope at all," Drigo said. "Over the years, we have become weaker and weaker and our bloodlines are less potent. Our bites cannot turn another into a Lycan and this has affected even our birthrate."
Drigo continued. "Many of our brothers have been born with blood so weak, they cannot be considered Lycan’s anymore. They are even weaker than the werewolves. So they chose to leave the plane and live peacefully outside. There is no point in trying to fight for a crown that they aren’t even qualified to have, right?"
"Is this the reason why many other clans were outside of the realm as well?"
"They wanted to find their mates. Some of them do, but they were humans, which means an even weaker bloodline. Their mate and their descendants would come out even weaker than their parents. The curse had affected us so much, it was only natural for us to cling to any hope that we have."
Ava nodded. She completely understands why they would do it. At first, she thought that the curse was nothing but legends, but it seems that there was some truth to it too.
"Hey... may I know how your ancestors found this place?" Ava asked. She wanted to know how the Lycans came to live in this already cursed place. Was it just because of Eve? Was there some connection somewhere?
"Matthew hasn’t taken you to that place yet?"
"What place?" Ava asked.
"The place where all the previous Kings were buried." Matthew’s voice echoed behind them. He strode toward Ava and didn’t hesitate to kiss his Queen in front of Drigo. Seeing him act like this, Drigo rolled his eyes.
He didn’t know what it feels like to have a mate, but he was pretty certain that being overly possessive was one of the attitudes that Lycans with mates developed.
"Ehem..." he cleared his throat, interrupting the two. "Maybe you have forgotten... I am still here," he said.
