Gods were worshiped by people living in different planes, different realms. They were powerful beings that created the universe. But they aren’t the only powerful beings in the cosmos.
There were Guardians, powerful creatures that guard each realm.
Then there were people — powerful humans who were able to create their own plane. These people came from humble abode. A cultivator from another realm, a mage, a powerful divine beast, a witch, and many others. They grew up in a mortal world and trained themselves until they were able to become as powerful as Gods.
Then they created their own planes or realms where they lived with their families. Some of them ascended and became Gods themselves that were worshiped by the people living in their realms while... some just rot away. Some of them found immortally lonely and so they found mates and chose to leave their planes to travel the cosmos.
Because of this, abandoned realms and planes that no longer have owners or guardians exist.
But owning a plane isn’t as simple as trying to catch a ball. It’s not as simple as fighting against a large monster that could devour you.
Most people who even tried died while the rest were absorbed by the said plane.
So... why would someone like Ava Woods be able to own a plane?
She’s a witch! And yes, she’s a powerful witch, but she isn’t immortal. She isn’t someone who had ascended from the mortal world to become a God!
She’s just a witch!
But the truth came crashing down inside him like a hurricane. It rang against his ear as loud as the thunder that threatened to devour him as he fought her.
Soon, he realized that no matter how powerful he was... he was useless against someone who own her own plane. Especially because he was fighting her inside her very own plane.
Yes.
The reason why Ava easily defeated him was that they were currently inside her plane. If they were fighting on earth, Nero would still have a chance against her. And even if he wouldn’t have a chance to win, he would have a chance to run. After all, Earth was not under Ava’s control.
But this plane is different.
Everything about it, including the air and the water, was under her control. She could choose to remove the air and make the rivers dry. She could move mountains and create floods. If she wanted to, she could change the plane, create seas and oceans, and land.
And she could use it to fight against her enemies.
This plane is Ava Woods’ domain.
In this plane, she was akin to a God.
How could he fight against a god?
He chuckled as his weak body fell from the skies, hitting a large clearing. He was almost certain that he would fall into a rocky part of the plane, but Ava changed the rocks, giving him the chance to live.
Blood trickled from his mouth as he struggled to breathe.
His wounds are no longer healing.
He looked at the woman who was approaching her. Her eyes were blood red, her face pale. Yet, there was a smile on her lips. Despite her beautiful appearance, Ava Woods rather looked sinister as she slowly approached him.
"Kill me," he uttered. This was just another body that he was using. Ava Woods could kill him and he would come back inside another body.
"How naive," Ava taunted. Her voice had somehow become lower. It was like the voice of many people speaking altogether. Does that even made sense?
"You think I didn’t know?" Ava snorted. "You poor little arrogant thing."
He heard her giggle. But for some reason, he was almost certain that she wasn’t laughing with her close lips and serious gaze. Someone else was laughing...
Perhaps death was playing a joke on him as he started to hear other people laugh. All of them... are coming from Ava.
"I will not kill you," Ava said. "But you— you will never be able to leave this plane.... Again."
"Wh— " before he could finish his words, he felt the ground beneath him slowly moved. Then he felt a suction from the ground. Was it trying to... swallow him?
"You will stay inside this plane forever... along with us," Ava spoke, her voice sounding more like a chorus of a song. Then he understood it. She sounded like death.
No. He wasn’t just hallucinating.
This was the sound of death, he thought inwardly as he glanced at her beautiful, smiling face. Then his gaze darkened. Though he was pretty sure that he was still awake.
"You will stay with us..."
"You will stay in this plane... forever...."
"You will stay..."
Random voices filled his head.
Then there was silence.

Aliah’s hands trembled. She frowned, her eyes landed on the red wine in his hand.
Did something happen?
Nero, she thought inwardly. Then she slowly calmed herself down. Nero... was probably the strongest person in this world right now. But...
She clicked her tongue, annoyed. Her motherly instinct was telling her that something just happened. And she didn’t like it!
While Nero was very strong, he can be very irrational, loves to fight, and is very arrogant. He thinks that he is the strongest and tends to look down on weaker beings.
Did he perhaps reveal himself to the public again?
Her gaze turned darker.
She had warned him not to show himself to the world... yet. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
Earth had been evolving too fast. Technology is a problem even for them. Even though most of the human government knew about them and had been giving them all the resources that they need, Aliah didn’t want Nero to reveal himself. At least not before the summoning in two months.
Sadly, her son had been very hardheaded lately.
A sigh escaped her lips as she placed her wineglass on the glass table. Then she called out.
"Nero," she said. Through telepathy, she could talk to him at any given time. "What have you done this time?" she asked.
However, she didn’t receive any answer.
