Ava frowned as her feet landed on the floors of the palace. Her body felt light. It was as if she had just woken up from a deep comfortable sleep. But she knew she didn’t come back from sleeping.
She came back after fighting against Nero.
"What man is more powerful than you and I," the Shaman’s words echoed inside her head. She knew he was standing behind her, speaking inside her head. "This is the reason why plane owners are feared in other realms." The Shaman continued.
"What does that mean?" she asked.
"You are only this powerful because of your plane. However, this didn’t mean that you are no longer a threat to the guardians."
"The guardians."
"Luckily, Earth has had no guardians for a long time now."
Ava nodded. Until now, she still couldn’t believe that she easily defeated a man like that.
"That man— "
"Is someone from the nightmare realm," it was Matthew. He walked towards Ava. Then there was Drigo and Baba. "He is from a clan that had long abandoned that realm. I didn’t know they would come to Earth."
"A clan?"
"The nightmare realm has different clans, different races," Matthew said. "I didn’t think they are the ones responsible for whatever it is that is happening."
"What do you mean?" the Shaman asked.
"There has been a long war between the nightmare and the spirit realm. Their clan betrayed the current King of the demon realm and supported the spirit realm in hopes of moving to the celestial realm. But this happened eons ago. Thousands of years on Earth’s time."
Matthew then led everyone to another room of the palace. Since his study had been destroyed, he chose to use another room.
"The last time I checked, the war was still happening. I didn’t know why they would suddenly come to Earth." Matthew said. "I didn’t know the king of the nightmare realm had banished them."
"How did you know they were from the same clan?" Ava finally asked.
"They can shift into the species that— they have eaten. No one else can tell except for the one who owns the plane and me. I can smell the stink of raw meat from them."
"Eaten raw?" Ava shivered.
"That man... looked like a human. It wasn’t just because of magick. It was because he had eaten raw flesh, probably while it was still alive. They maintain their youth that way."
"Just like the people in the nightmares," Ava said.
"Everything that you are scared of exists in that realm," Matthew said. "The Shaman should know. He had been there."
The Shaman sighed. "I haven’t had the chance to talk about what I have encountered in that realm .." Then he looked at Ava. "Or showed it to you."
"Is it real?" Ava asked.
"Yes. The nightmare realm is going to show you the things that you are scared of. Unpleasant things..."
"So... Is this a big deal?" Drigo asked. "I mean... Ava already took care of that guy."
"That clan should be the one responsible for the experiments. They must be working with the ones from the Shadow realm." Matthew found himself next to a bar, pouring himself some drink. "Whiskey?" he calmly asked.
"I’ll take one," the Shaman answered. freewēbnoveℓ.com
"And this is something that we should worry about because?" Drigo once again chimed in. "I mean... no offense but we— I mean— I am currently very busy. There have been a lot of shifters and witches who wanted to live inside this plane. The construction of a school that would cater to everyone just started and everyone wanted to register so they could create their own houses. I don’t think we have the luxury to even think about them, right?"
"Indeed," Ava said. While she’s not as busy as Drigo, she could feel that more good things are going to happen inside this plane very soon. The number of people inside this plane is going to increase and they are going to start developing the plane very soon.
The unexplored territory will soon be explored. Moreover, she also needed to think about the new laws that would ensure everyone’s safety. As the owner of this plane, she couldn’t help but feel more responsible for making this place even better.
Plus, she also wanted to create a way to have electricity through magick!
Right now, electricity from the outside world cannot come in here, but there have been some changes because of the things that they found in that the laboratory where the witches had been experimented on. This is going to start a series of changes that will only make this place more comfortable!
And she was so excited!
"You do not understand," Matthew said. "The reason why that clan worked with the spirit realm is that they wanted their own plane where they could rule and become Kings. They originally thought it would be easy to do that inside the nightmare realm with the help of the people from the spirit realm. But this has been proven wrong by the previous King."
"Are you saying that they are going to rule over Earth?" Drigo asked.
"That is the only goal that I can think of."
"Rule over Earth, you say?" the Shaman said.
Ava wished that she could say that they should stop caring about Earth because they now have their very own plane. However, she couldn’t just say that simply because she still cared. She was born and Earth; she grew up in that place too.
"Do you think they are— " the Shaman hesitated for a few seconds. "Do you think they are capable of summoning someone from the celestial realm?"
"Celestial Realm?" Matthew frowned. "An angel’s essence is enough to destroy a human’s body."
"A human." The Shaman said. "What about a strong shifter’s body or a strong witch?"
"Given all the conditions are met, then... that is possible," Matthew uttered. "But — " he had already destroyed some portals that he had created in the past. "It would be very difficult for them to do that... unless, of course, they would offer a big sacrifice."
"A big sacrifice?" Ava asked, she was reminded of the witches that were sacrificed to create this plane. Hold on...
Her eyes widened as realization hit her.
Eve... Eve and her mother could be from the nightmare realm!
Ava wanted to inquire more about the nightmare realm, but she didn’t want to inform everyone about Eve, so she chose to stay quiet.
"Yes, they need a huge — millions of lives to be able to satisfy some conditions," Matthew said.
"It looked like they have been trying to prepare for something like that to happen." The Shaman said. "Let’s go to the lab. I am going to show you something."
Not long after, the Shaman took them to the lab and showed them some experiments that had been done on the witches and shifters, and even the creatures that came here.
"I have been wondering why the creatures that were here came from the nightmare realm," the Shaman said as he showed them some images of the creatures that they were able to obtain. Even Afliusium, the chemical that can easily kill a witch, is from that realm." The Shaman said. "I have kept quiet since I didn’t want to come up with some random conclusion, but I knew that they have been wanting to create a strong body."
The Shaman continued. "At first, I thought that they wanted to summon more people from the Shadows, as Matthew said in the past. After all, most of the people that we have caught so far are from the shadows. Ulva and the King and the one that was able to run away were all from the Shadows. Though... I always wonder how they were able to obtain Afliusium."
"I tried to think of a witch that would be crazy enough to go to the nightmare realm to obtain something like Afliusium, but I couldn’t think of anyone. So I assume that they must have caught a dream walker and forced her or him to do it." The Shaman said as he used his magick to open what looked like a secret room inside the laboratory.
Almost immediately, everyone frowned.
They stared at the blue, luminescent object floating peacefully in the air.
"Afliusium," Ava said.
"I extracted it from the witches’ and monster’s bodies. I believe that they used this liquid to try to make the witch’s body immune to it and maybe even make them stronger. They failed so... "
"So?"
"So they tried to use it on younger kids and maybe even babies," the Shaman said.
That revelation made Ava think of Amelia and her child. "Why would they experiment with babies?"
"The younger the body, the easier it would be for them to try to control it using various methods," the Shaman said. "If one would think about it, everything was actually connected. The hybrids and the rogues and the witches. The experiment was more focused on making their bodies stronger. It was as if..." the Shaman said. "They wanted to summon someone that needed a powerful body that won’t break from the sheer amount of power that they have."
Ava frowned then she asked. "But why? What was the end goal?"
