Ava lifted an eyebrow.
The venom in the man’s voice surprised her. What was this man doing? She then looked at Broody whose eyes were still blank.
What is this man doing? She thought inwardly.
"Please be mindful of your tone. The King had more important matters to attend to."
"More important than the supernatural being revealed to the entire world?"
"The video has been circulating for a few days now. Two countries wanted to declare war against the supernaturals. Do you really think you can still do something to bury the news?"
"This happened before!"
"At that time, the technology isn’t as high as the tech now! Hackers are all over the place, once interested, they would do everything to find out more about what the government has been doing all these years! We don’t need you to suddenly do everything to bury the news. We need to hear what are your plans now that the public has been asking questions about us."
The old man stopped talking and just glared at Jude.
"Moreover, this doesn’t concern the Lycans," Francheska added lazily. "The Lycans have their own plane. We are safe in this place. But the supernatural outside will not be safe anytime soon. And let me tell you this... if threatened, the shifters and witches will do something about this."
"That would start a war."
"We have been hiding for hundreds of years," Francheska said as she leaned closer to the older man. "Do you really think we care about a war?"
"A war will only cause devastation and— "
"Please stop pretending that you don’t want a war to happen," Francheska interrupted the man. "You and your country had been funding wars for years. Not only will this help with the population on Earth, but it will also give you big profits."
"How dare you say that in front of someone like me! I have been supporting the beast community for years!"
"Beasts?" Jude lifted an eyebrow. "What an interesting word to use considering that you have been supporting our community for years."
"You— "
"Let’s calm down," Drigo said. "We are not here to fight each other."
"Then let’s start by talking to the King."
"As I said, the King— "
"My husband thought there are more important things than talking to you," Ava interrupted him with a smile. In fact, Matthew was trying to fortify the security around this plane, along with his shadows. He was doing this so not everyone who knew where the entrance in could just come inside.
Because of the revelation, Matthew and Ava decided to keep humans out. Unless, of course, they have the permission of the guards that Matthew assigned— the guards that were possessed by his shadows.
The stake just increased. Right now, the number of supernaturals that would find shelter in this place will surely increase. And they needed to prepare for that.
From the start, Matthew and Ava already revealed their intentions to everyone. They wanted a place where other supernaturals could consider their home. Both of them never even considered talking to the people from the KEEPERS or Trillium, as they are not imposing this on other supernaturals.
They could come if they want or stay on Earth if they wanted to.
Again, the sudden revelation changed everything.
"You— "
"As a witch and the Queen of this plane, I have all the authority to make decisions. You can tell me your concerns or you can just leave and stop wasting my time. As you can see... the plane is undergoing big changes. Thousands of supernatural decided to move into the plane even before the revelation happen. Do you think — "
"We believed that the revelation was done by the Lycans." Broody interrupted Ava. "It was done by the Lycans, who wanted to create a separate space for the supernatural."
"Do you think it was wrong for us to have a place that we can call home?" Ava asked.
"No. But that doesn’t give you the right to reveal everything to the public."
Ava snorted. "Aside from the fact that a war isn’t really beneficial to us— "
"You wanted people to come here. A war will give you that," Broody said.
"It seems that Mr. Jones had been keeping track of what was happening inside the plane."
"Did you know why the governments agreed to keep your secrets until now?"Broody said as he leaned forward, he didn’t even bother to hide the malice in his eyes as he continued. "The government didn’t think that the shifters and witches are a threat against the humans."
"But that would change if you decide to create a Kingdom with all the supernaturals," the older man said.
"So... "
"So, we are here to offer you another choice." The older man said.
"What would that be?" Drigo asked.
"A new community. A place where supernaturals will be accepted by the masses. A place where supernaturals could live with us. But you must promise not to create a kingdom full of supernaturals."
"I don’t understand what— "
"They are afraid that the supernaturals will band together and rule over Earth," Ava interrupted Drigo.
"That is only fair," the old man said. "Shifters are stronger, faster, and they could easily kill a thousand humans. Whereas witches are very vile creatures that can do magick. If they work together, it would be very easy for them to fight against cannons and missiles."
Silence filled the room.
"That might sound like a selfish decision on our part, but you must understand. You are born stronger than us. So please do not blame us if we wanted to protect ourselves!"
"That’s bullshit," Ava snorted. She narrowed at the man. "That is the most stupid reason that I have heard so far."
"It is that... or we are going to provide weapons to the other government that could kill both witches and shifters." The old man smiled. "You must sign a pact. It’s either you follow what we want or... we will exterminate every one of you."
Ava frowned.
What the hell?
She wasn’t expecting the current turn of events! ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
"You seem so confident in your threats, Mr. Smith." The Shaman calmly said while everyone else was flabbergasted.
"Well— " Mr. Smith gestured towards Broody. Without saying a word, Broody opened his black suit revealing a bomb. What attracted everyone’s attention is the fact that the bomb was surrounded by luminescent liquid.
Right then and there, Ava understood why they wanted Matthew there instead of her.
This wasn’t just a bomb that was meant to threaten them.
It was meant to blow up and eliminate the strongest Lycan King that ever existed. But since Matthew didn’t come, they resorted to making threats instead.
"We have stumbled upon a liquid that was said to have enough power to stop a witch from using her power and kill all other supernaturals. I am certain the Shaman is very much aware of this liquid."
It was Afliusium.
"Where did you get that amount of Afliusium?" Ava couldn’t help but ask. The amount of Afliusium inside those vials is larger than what the Shaman was able to collect from the bodies of the witches and monsters!
"I don’t think that is any of your business," the older man smiled.
"Is this the Keepers’ declaration of war against the supernaturals?"
"A war?" the old man said. "You are wrong Mr. Caro. A war means armed conflict. The one that we are having is currently not one of those things. We have the weapon. You don’t. If you try to use magick or something else, we will blow up the Afliusium and kill everyone in this room. Unless, of course... you are going to sign a pact, a deal with us. You are not going to let other supernaturals enter this place. You are going to close this plane and live separately from the Earth Realm. You’re not going to involve yourself with the matters on Earth even if that includes... the other supernaturals."
"That’s crazy."
"Life... is crazy," the man said. "Isn’t that why we were created unequally by whoever it is that created us?"
Ava frowned. For some reason, she felt like something else was going on here! It was like... this was just some unprovoked attack by the KEEPERS!
Hold on... she looked at Broody’s blank face as she recalled Matthew’s words about that clan. They are people that can imitate the face of the one that they just ate, right?
Was that even possible?
The reason why Ava was able to detect that many is because.... He was powerful— very powerful. But this time, she didn’t even detect Broody! Why?
Was it because the one inside Broody wasn’t as powerful as Nero?
Just as she was thinking about this, a loud explosion shook the area. Everyone looked to their left but Ava didn’t need to look to know that someone just used Afliusium inside the plane. She immediately got up and looked at Broody and the old man.
"You two are leaving!" she shouted. Before Broody and the old man could say a word, the two vanished as if they were never been there in the first place. The plan to distract Ava and everyone else was cool.... But they forgot one thing.
Ava owns this plane and she can do whatever she wants inside this plane!
