Chapter 468: The Cosmos 3

"I don’t know what you are talking about."

"I am talking about... you..." the man said. "The daughter of a guardian and a human. You shouldn’t have existed."

"This— " Ava snorted. "This isn’t the first time that I heard that and I can only tell you one thing. I don’t know." The man frowned as if he was really curious about her. Though, she found this very annoying.

"Would you mind... making yourself invisible? I need to talk to someone. I would really appreciate it if you make your presence— "

"I am invisible..."

"Huh?"

"No one else but can you can see me."

Ava frowned. What the hell? Did she look like a lunatic all this time?

She ignored the man as she continued walking. Then she hailed a taxi and instructed the driver to take her to the address where the woman named Aliah was.

The place was actually a restaurant. In the middle of downtown Alaska.

Luckily, the man who actually was accompanying her inside the taxi didn’t say another word. Instead, he just stared at her as if she was some strange creature that he hadn’t seen before. She could only sigh as the man looked like he wasn’t even blinking!

What a strange creature!

Sadly, she couldn’t just kick him out or run away from him as she was almost sure that this man was far more powerful than her.

Not long after, she finally arrived at the address. She walked inside the restaurant and sat near the windows. She didn’t even know that this place wasn’t exactly a restaurant but a cafe with lots of sweets.

"I thought you wouldn’t come."

Ava looked up and saw a beautiful woman with gem-like blue eyes. Her hair was as black as the night, her face jade-like. She was wearing black leather clothes that honestly made her look like some actress or a model.

Just as Ava expected, the woman’s presence had attracted a lot of attention from everyone.

She was flabbergasted, unable to process what the woman really wanted.

If she wanted attention then she immediately won. But wasn’t she supposed to be someone who kidnapped Samuel? Kidnappers wanted to be low-key, right?

She watched as the woman elegantly sat opposite her.

The woman’s actions looked like she was dancing, it looked graceful. Not too slow and not too fast. Was it even possible for someone to move like that?

"You are falling for her charm," the man who was sitting next to her spoke. "She isn’t a human."

"Hm?" Sadly, Ava couldn’t just ask the air what he meant by that. She would look insane!

But the man’s words seemed to wake her up from her stupor.

"That was rude," she uttered.

"You noticed?" the woman snorted. She raised her hand and called a waiter. Then she told the waiter to give them their bestseller. The waiter left them without even speaking a word.

"Manipulation," the man next to her spoke. "Something that people from other realms are good at. Asked her how her snake was."

"I— " What? Ava cleared her throat. What snake? She frowned.

"I didn’t think you would even notice. It usually works for everyone. In fact, you are the... first human who was able to resist me."

"I am going to take that as a compliment."

"You should. Not even the strongest witch or shifter that I have talked to had the ability to recognize what I was doing. In the end... they failed to notice anything and fell into my trap. Tragic, isn’t it?’

"Where is Samuel?" she asked. This conversation is making her uncomfortable. "I am here. You should let him go. He is human. He had nothing to do with this."

"Please... everyone has something to do with this," the woman rolled her eyes.

"Where is he?"

"I am more curious about you," the woman narrowed her fox-like eyes on her. "How did you become so powerful?"

"I don’t know what you are talking about."

"Not many people could defeat my son..."

"Son?"

For some reason, her question made the woman frown.

"It seems that you didn’t even ask him anything. Did you even know this name?"

"I— "

"It’s Nero," the woman said. "He is my one and only son."

"So you did this because of what happened to Nero?"

"You can... say it like that."

"Your son was the one who wanted to fight."

"And?"

And? What kind of question was that? She frowned in response.

"My son is still alive," the woman named Aliah said. "I want you to give him back."

"Then stop whatever it is that you are doing."

"I will return Samuel alive without even a small scratch."

"That’s not what I want," Ava said.

In response, the woman narrowed at her. "The world needed to know about your kind. It’s time for them to understand that they aren’t the predators but are just the prey. Don’t you think so?"

"I am talking about the experiments," Ava said. "Leave this world and stop the experiments."

The woman looked at her in disbelief before she suddenly started laughing. "My... My.... I didn’t think you would care about something that doesn’t concern you."

"I am here to negotiate. Stop everything and leave this place. Then I will give him to you. Alive and well."

"Did you really think your words mean anything to me?" Aliah’s face darkened. Then there was a loud boom. Panicked voices followed. Apparently, a flash of lightning just struck the post near the restaurant.

"Do you really think you have the power to threaten me?" Aliah said. Then another boom echoed. A strong gush of wind made its presence known.

"I am talking to you because this is what a mother should do. But that doesn’t mean I have— "

"I am not going to kill him," Ava suddenly said. "If you think I didn’t know then you are wrong. I am not planning to kill Nero. He will stay like that forever. Undying... weak... powerless." Ava knew that these people have endless lives as they can just find another host for their essence.

Matthew and even the shaman were able to confirm this.

So... what would happen if she’s not going to kill them?

Nothing.

They cannot leave their bodies.

They cannot find another host.

They would just stay in their vessel until their vessel rot. Their essence is going to stay in the bones of their vessel. Even if their vessel is going to be crushed by some unknown force, their essence wouldn’t leave. Basically, they cannot die and cannot reincarnate.

"Oh... did you also think I wouldn’t know?" she taunted. Just as she expected, the woman’s face turned ugly. Yes, Aliah wanted to provoke Ava into killing Nero thinking that she didn’t know anything about their race.

"You dare threatened me?"

"Yes," Ava said. "What? Are you going to kill me? You think that would help Nero?"

"You— "

"Only I know where he is," Ava said. "The Cosmos is a very large place. Though you have forever to find him... did you really think he has the same time as you?"

"You— "

"Sinister— " the man next to Ava said. "You remind me of someone."

Ava pursed her lips and took a deep breath.

"Once his body starts to decay... his essence will soon transfer to every bone that he has and... "

"I will destroy this planet," Aliah suddenly said. "If you will not give me my son back... everyone else will suffer."

"I am taking that chance..." Ava said. "I am sure you didn’t know this but I am not that fond of humans either. You can kill them and I will watch you do it while having my coffee."

Aliah said nothing. Instead, she got up. Another bang echoed. This time, the lightning hit the table in between them. Ava used her magick to shield herself from the lightning.

"You will regret this," Aliah said before she vanished into thin air.

"Hmmm Interesting..." the man next to her uttered. "I didn’t know that someone from the nightmare realm was able to infiltrate this realm. They must be from that clan."

Ava’s lips twitched.

"Aren’t you scared that she will really burn this world?"

"No," Ava said. She got up and calmly walked towards the exit along with everyone in the restaurant. Obviously, the lightning left everyone shaken.

"Why not?"

"Because she needs humans," Ava said. "I am leaving." With that, she suddenly teleported away from the man. To her surprise, the man appeared next to her.

"You— " she felt like a headache is coming.

"You can’t run away from me. I am more powerful than you."

"Leave me alone," Ava said.

"I cannot do that. Not when you are an owner of a plane."

"I am not going to do anything."

"You just provoke someone from the nightmare realm. Judging from your reaction, you knew what they were capable of but you still chose to provoke them. So it must be because you are extremely stupid or you are just as fearless as your father."
