Chapter 472: First Encounter 2

The woman moved like the wind as she levitated towards Ava reaching her in just a few seconds.

"I have been waiting..." she said. "You cannot resist. You are simply not strong enough."

The woman easily overpowered her. Ava started hyperventilating. What is happening? How come... how come she was feeling so weak against the woman? Was it because she was in this state?

If so... she needed to force herself to wake up!

The thing is, her body was on another plane.

"I waited for you to come and save me...." The woman continued her monologue. "Now that you are here... we can be together."

"I— "

"Shhh..." the woman stood in front of her smiling. "I will forgive you this time."

Ava felt a chill in her spine. It was as if she was in front of a sharp sword, staring at it was giving her shivers.

"You dare!? " It was Aliah’s voice. Ava felt a sudden rush of relief surround her body. "How dare you ruin everything that I have started!"

Judging from Aliah’s reaction, it seemed that she couldn’t actually see Ava! To the other people, the woman was just standing there, talking to herself.

"You are still alive?"

"Did you really think something incomplete could harm me?" Aliah responded.

"Leave us alone," the woman said.

"You are mine— if you think you can— "

"Noisy," the woman waved her hand and a large block of ice was thrown toward Aliah.

"AHHHHH" Aliah screamed in response. The ice shattered into small little pieces. Om response, two spears lashed the woman’s way.

"A puny creature dare to fight against me?" the woman snorted, and the spears stopped moving. "It’s a pity. I wanted to kill you, but I am someone who always paid my dues. You summoned me into this realm in response. I am giving you the chance to leave. Do not make me see your face again."

"How dare you!?" Aliah said, her eyes so wide it almost bulged out of her eyes. "I own you. Your body has my blood! I own you!" Aliah sent a barrage of spears, all of which were easily thwarted by the woman.

"You will become me! And I, you!" Aliah continued. "How dare you fight against the one who created you!?"

"Arrogant!" the woman responded. "You, who do not understand the laws of the cosmos dare to act arrogant in front of me!?" the woman suddenly made a gesture with her hand. "I have given you the chance to run. Now, we are even."

Out of nowhere, the pressure that stopped Ava from teleporting vanished. She didn’t wait to see the ending of the fight as she decided to teleport back into the plane.

"Haph!"Ava jolted up. Her physical body was still trembling from the effects of teleporting that far. However, she had no time to focus on this right now. She immediately ran out of the room.

She wasn’t exactly surprised to see Matthew outside.

"Where— "

"Where’s the Shaman!?" Ava asked.

"In his rooms? What is happening!?"

She didn’t answer Matthew. Instead, she held Matthew’s shoulder and teleported straight into the Shaman’s room. Sadly, the Shaman placed some restrictions inside the room, stopping anyone from directly going inside without his permission.

"Baba! You have to call Baba!" Ava had guessed that Matthew didn’t feel that she was in danger because of the pressure that the woman had.

Matthew didn’t ask questions, he used his shadows to bring Baba to them. While doing this, Matthew and Ava tried their best to gain access to the room.

"What is it? What happened?" Baba was still wearing a lab coat. "What’s — What’s going on?"

"The Shaman... the shaman might be in danger," Ava said. Her heart had been racing so fast that it was almost the only thing that she could hear aside from her voice. The others words were akin to echoes inside her head.

"The Shaman— " Ava kept repeating as she closed her eyes and tried to get through the barrier surrounding the Shaman’s room.

"Can’t we just break the barrier?" Baba asked.

"No," Matthew answered. "This might put the Shaman in more danger. He must have put the barrier inside the room to keep his physical body safe. A barrier like this would only disappear if the one who created it... died."

Hearing this, Ava panicked even more. Something inside her was telling her that she no longer had the time.

"What is going on, then? Can someone tell me what is going on? Where is the Shaman’s— "

"I don’t know," Ava said, her eyes still closed. She was trying to untangle the man’s magick around the room. This method was something that the Shaman personally taught her. The barrier was akin to a tangled thread that had been wrapped around the specific area.

The Shaman taught her how to untangle them, but it would take time.

"Someone arrived. I couldn’t teleport and the Shaman saved me. He told me to leave and that he will meet me here." Ava pursed her lips, her breathing slowly turned calmer. She needed to concentrate to be able to access the room.

She needed to know where the Shaman is!

However, just as she started to untangle more of the threads, the barrier started shaking.

Then... it collapsed.

And vanished.

Ava paled, her body trembling.

"That— " Matthew was speechless beside her too.

"What is going on?" Baba asked.

Ava on the other hand, felt something break inside her head. It was as if someone literally broke a twig inside her head.

Her connection with the Shaman vanished.

"No...." Impossible... how could it be?

Ava opened and room and ran towards the large canopied bed where the Shaman’s body was peacefully lying down.

Ava checked the man’s pulse.

"No..." she shook her head. "No!"

"The— The Shaman is— " Baba covered her mouth as realization hit her.

"How could it be?" Ava used some magick to access the Shaman’s consciousness. But... how could she do that to someone who had already breathed their last?

"No!" Ava yelled. The Shaman... is dead.

....
