Chapter 471: First Encounter 1

Ava’s eyes widened in surprise. She looked at the woman, her heart in her throat.

She blinked.

It must be a mistake, she thought inwardly.

How could the woman see her?

No. She must be looking at something behind her.

Except the woman was looking straight into her eyes.

"What is happening?" it was Aliah. She was screeching towards the man. "Do something!"

"Madame that— we cannot stop the ritual now."

"Then— " Aliah said nothing. She vanished from where she was standing and arrived next to the woman. However, before she could do something, the woman smiled, her hand wrapped around Aliah’s neck.

Ava tried to take this opportunity to teleport herself away from this place but she couldn’t.

She immediately frowned. What is happening?

"Foolish..." the woman hissed. Slowly, she turned her head towards Aliah. "How dare a lowly creature interrupt me?"

"Ugh... " Aliah tried to stop the woman, but the woman easily threw her away like a doll.

"Now..." the woman turned towards Ava. "My dear... daughter... I have been waiting for you."

Ava’s chest raised and fell, abruptly. Daughter?

What is this woman talking about!?

Everyone looked at the woman with horror in their eyes as she slowly levitated toward Ava. Seeing this, Ava immediately tried to get away. She ran in the opposite direction. The others cannot see her, so she has the advantage.

When the woman followed her, she immediately knew that the woman can see her. But how? She wasn’t exactly in this room, but in a different dimension that souls and dream walkers have access to.

Again, she tried to teleport. But for some reason, her astral self couldn’t leave this place!

"Fret not..." the woman said. "I do not intend to hurt you. Being with my daughter is— " Just as the woman was about to reach her, a sudden blinding light came out of nowhere.

There was the sound of two hard metals hitting each other.

Then, a heavy pressure descended.

"Shaman!" Ava called out when she noticed the older man standing in between her and the woman. The pressure came from the Shaman and it seemed that the sound earlier was from the Shaman’s shield.

"Leave this place..."

"What!?"

"This isn’t someone that you can fight in this realm."

"But— "

"Now, Ava! You agreed to leave!"

"I— What about you!?"

"I will meet you outside!"

"You dare interrupt me!?" the woman said in a cold tone. freewёbnoνel.com

"Now, Ava!"

Ava looked at the woman, there was a shield surrounding the Shaman and her but it looked like it wouldn’t really last that long.

"Now!" the Shaman hissed.

"I will... meet you outside!"

Ava said as she teleported out of the room. She didn’t hesitate this time. She teleported and teleported herself until she accidentally found the control room.

With all her might, she used everything that she could to mess around with it. From the electricity to the temperature to the electronics. She wasn’t knowledgeable enough to let everyone go, but she knew... how to destroy things!

She heard an alarm.

Then there was a loud bang.

She didn’t stay in that place any longer. She looked back before teleporting once again.

"DID YOU REALLY THINK YOU CAN GET AWAY FROM ME?"

A voice suddenly echoed inside her head.

No.

Impossible!

How could that woman see her and even speak inside her head when she was not in her physical body?

Something is definitely wrong.

Not long after, she was able to get out of the underground facility and was about to teleport back to the plane when she felt a sudden pull from the facility. It feels like a strong gust of wind crashed against her body.

"I HAVE BEEN WAITING..." the voice uttered coldly. "How could a daughter abandon her mother!?" This time, the voice soften.

Ava shivered, goosebumps skittered all throughout her skin.

"How can you see me?" she asked. "And where’s the Shaman? What did you do to him?"

"Send him to where he belonged," the woman snorted. "Dare to play with spirits when his days had been numbered? He shall see the consequence of his own stupidity."

"You— " Ava frowned. What was she talking about? The Shaman informed Ava that he was dying and she never stopped thinking about that. Now that she owns her own plane, she thought she could help the Shaman out. "What are you talking about?" she asked.

"Where is Shaman Gaas! Answer me!"

The woman appeared not far from her. She was now wearing different clothes from what she was wearing before. Her long hair moved as if it was dancing with the wind. The fact that there wasn’t any wind or anything that could move her hair made her creepier.

"What do you want from me?" Ava asked. She tried to feel the presence of the Shaman but her Astral abilities can be considered limited. She couldn’t feel him.

She hoped that it was only because of his distance or that he was able to run away earlier.

"Aren’t you excited about seeing your mother?"

"You are not my mother," Ava said.

Her words made the woman frown.

"Stay away from me," Ava uttered.

"How could you say something so... cruel?"

"You mistook me for somebody else. I am not your daughter."

The woman frowned and stared at her. Then she smiled at Ava. "You have his eyes," the woman said. Now that Ava had a closer look at the woman, she immediately noticed that she too had green eyes. Though hers were lighter than Ava’s forest-green orbs.

The woman suddenly started moving towards her. Ava immediately took a few steps back.

Ava then tried to teleport and again, it was not working.

For some reason, the woman seemed to have some sort of invisible pressure that is preventing anyone from teleporting. But the Shaman was able to teleport!

"Don’t you at least want a hug from your Mama?" the woman gave her a gentle smile. Almost immediately, she lost control of her body. She could no longer move her limbs. She froze. For the first time, fear appeared on Ava’s eyes.
