Chapter 474: First Encounter 4

Aliah was trembling as she tried to focus her gaze on the woman sitting on the chair that used to belong to hers. For years, Aliah had been sitting in that very same chair, wondering when will she come back to the place where she belonged— to her realm.

"Blarghhhh— " for the umpteenth time, Aliah threw up some greenish liquid that had been mixed with her blood. "Please— " she uttered. "Kill me..."

"I begged you to kill me," the woman responded. "Didn’t I?"

This woman— didn’t have a name, Aliah thought inwardly. She was just another experiment that they created from various genes of monsters mixed with humans and hers.

And she... had been the most successful one.

Aliah thought that she finally created the perfect vessel, a body that she could easily control, a body that would be perfect for celestials. She was wrong.

The body developed a consciousness of her own. She escaped years ago but they were able to retrieve her. Not long after, she fell into a coma. They tried everything to wake her up and just as they thought they succeeded, the body’s consciousness suddenly intervened.

"Human bodies are very mysterious," these were the words of one of her top researchers in the past. This was when they realized that humans are very flexible. Compared to the other occupants of the realm, humans were born without powers, without magick. They were born blank— like a blank piece of paper.

And just like every blank piece of paper, people like Aliah can write anything on them.

"Ah.... " The woman smiled at her. "You should have killed me all those years ago."

The only reason why she didn’t kill this woman was that they realized her endless potential. Her body had perfectly adapted to the cells that they added. The demon blood and Aliah’s blood inside the woman’s body perfectly mixed with the others.

It was unimaginable.

They didn’t know how the woman managed to survive all these years. But they cannot just ruin something so perfect like her.

Who would have known that this would happen?

Aliah lowered her gaze. She was old enough to accept the fact that this only happened because she rushed everything else. The researchers told her that the woman wasn’t ready. They informed her that the woman seemed to have memories.

But she told them to ignore it and do the summoning instead.

She needed them to come because she needed to get back to Ava Woods for taking her son. The success of the summoning would have given her access to the plane where Ava was staying. And that means she could easily take her son back. All she wanted was Nero.

In the end, this woman suddenly acted like this and killed everyone in the lab— everyone who fought against her. The ones who chose to hide and not fight were given a chance to keep the facility running under the woman’s supervision.

"So... my daughter..." the woman said.

"She is not your daughter," Aliah uttered. Though inwardly, she knew that Ava Is definitely this woman’s daughter. The age-matched up. Moreover, it seems that the reason why Aliah found her blood on Ava was that she inherited her mother’s genes. This was the reason why Ava confused her.

Ava felt like a daemon and someone from the nightmare realm. Yet, she is also a human and a witch. She even thought she could feel the blood of a pure demon inside that woman. Ava was exactly like her mother but... better.

Yes. Ava was akin to an upgraded version of her mother.

And as crazy as it sounded, Ava had the potential to be stronger than her mother.

"But she is..." the woman said. "Made out of love and passion. Two bodies against each other. Ava is my daughter."

Aliah pursed her lips. She could sense the madness in the woman’s eyes.

"You are saying that she is hiding in a plane?"

"Yes."

"Ah... so that was where she was hiding her body. I couldn’t find it in this realm,’ the woman murmured. "Do you know where it is?"

"No," Aliah said. Before she could take another breath, pain shocked her body. She trembled, gritting her teeth. "Stop— I really don’t know. I was planning to summon you because I wanted to have a celestial restore my powers. After that, I was planning to locate Ava." Through her son. But she isn’t going to tell the woman that.

Obviously, Aliah wasn’t dumb. She saw the woman absorb the knowledge of some researchers just by touching them, leaving them dead in the end.

She wouldn’t allow that to happen.

All she needed right now is time.

The woman got up and approached her.

"What is happening in the outside world .... The one that I saw... was that real? Did they discover the existence of shifters and witches?"

"Yes."

"And Ava grew up with those humans?"

"Yes."

"Then we kill them all."

"What?" Aliah wanted to ask more questions when the woman lowered herself and smiled at her. "Do not worry, I am not going to kill you just yet. You made me suffer for years. Isn’t it only fair that I reciprocate?" Just as the woman finished her words, a stabbing pain started on her shoulders moving up to her arm.

"Ahhhh!" Aliah could only scream, her eyes were wide as she looked at the bright ceiling. She could feel it. The woman was too powerful, she couldn’t do anything against her! Aliah tried to fight back the pain or at least try to ease it but the pain doubled, she could only open her mouth, screaming as she fell on the floor, trembling.

"Ah, do not fret. This is just the start," the woman gave her a beautiful smile before she sauntered out of the room. Seeing her disappearing back, Aliah once again, tried to use her power to help her body with the pain.

To her surprise, the skin on her fingers started rotting. Green liquid mixed with blood oozed out of the hole in her skin. Then for some unknown reason, it would once again heal.

And the process repeated again.... And again.... And again...

.............

It has been two days since Ava came back but for some reason, she couldn’t feel safe inside the plane. Right now, the number of supernaturals going inside, trying to find a safe solace had doubled.

And while she has all the reason to be busy right now, her mind was still a little messed up after the Shaman’s death.

Right.... She wasn’t supposed to use that word.

The Shaman is not dead. His body was still warm despite the fact that he already lost his pulse. Because of this, it was easier to think that he was still out there somewhere.

"As I was saying, the number of supernaturals trying to flee out of their country was simply too many," Jude uttered. "They do not have access to the portals and some of them do not have the means to travel to another country. The human governments had been doing their best to calm the public down but the last attacks from hybrids and rogues left the humans shaken and... scared for the future. I understand why they wanted their governments to create a test that could identify humans and supernaturals."

Ava nodded absentmindedly.

Since she had that conversation with her father who is currently on this plane, she had been thinking about her mother and the stuff that she suffered in that place.

According to her father’s story, her mother grew up in that place, and then she escaped and ran away to the mourning pits— a place that Ava’s father introduced to her mother.

According to her father, her mother and him stayed in the mourning pits until she gave birth. That was the time when her mother told him that she would be leaving.

She cannot stay next to Ava and put her in danger.

After all, Aliah and her men were looking for her everywhere.

However, Ava’s father already felt that something was off.

It took him a long time to realize that Ava had her mother’s genes— even stronger. Her body was made to be a vessel— the strongest vessel.

He started suspecting that Ava’s mother was no longer the woman that he liked in the dreams— when they were together. Something else— or someone else is inside the body.

And to do that, they needed to go back to the place where Aliah did her experiments and hoped to find something that would help them determine the identity of the one inside her mother’s body.

"Ah... this is the relic that you wanted," Jude continued talking. Right now, Trillium had been working with Ava and her people to create safe access to the supernaturals who wanted to move to the plane. Because of this, the man had been frequenting the plane. Of course, Ava guessed that Jude was here just to check on Francheska and he was only using the business of Trillium as an excuse.

**BANG**

The large mahogany doors were suddenly opened. Drigo walked in with a dark look on his face.

"We have a problem..." Drigo said.

"What is it?"

"The woman— that woman started killing people," Drigo said. "She sent a message telling you to come to see her or... she will destroy Earth."
