Chapter 66: Matthew and his Candle

Ava felt so tired, she couldn’t sleep.

Her body ached, her pxssy was fxcking sore. And she was hungry.

The dinner actually never happened.

At least not yet.

Because Matthew wasn’t done, yet.

And he made it clear how he wanted to spend the night in every part of this house, fucking her.

Ava closed her eyes as the warm water from the shower hit her battered skin. His bite marks on her neck and chest tingled as the water hit them. It made her painfully aware how she liked it, how she moaned as he put those marks on her.

The pain awakened her adrenaline which gave her an orgasm, one that she never had before Matthew.

She was sure she would be bruised in the morning.

Luckily, it was winter and she didn’t really mind wearing a turtleneck for the rest of the season.

Gosh, why does she sound like a slut?

Because she was.

A smile appeared on her skin as she gently rubbed a loofah on her neck. Vanilla and musk filled the air along with the steam, making the shower a bit foggy.

She thought of Matthew who had now decided to cook in the kitchen, wearing nothing but his boxers. She was tempted to ask him to go naked while wearing an apron. But that would once again prompt him to do something about her mouth.

"What are you doing there?" she asked when she felt his gaze set on her body. She didn’t need to see him to know that he was currently smiling smugly as he stared at her naked body.

"Food’s ready," he said.

She expected him to step into the shower with her. The thought of him pushing her head down as he entered her from behind her already had her throbbing folds tingle. She hadn’t tried that before.

Being fucked in the shower with the hot water running in their bodies. He would firmly grab her hips and pull her closer as he thrust harder and harder.

Her imagination turned wilder as the minutes passed by.

When she didn’t feel him move, she turned and lifted an eyebrow. Then she watched as he dragged his gaze down from his face to her bruised breast down to her stomach. Her pxssy started pulsating.

Instead of moving, he leaned by the door of her already small bathroom. Arching an eyebrow, he folded his arms across his muscled chest. She stared at his bulging biceps.

Sadly, he was already dressed. He was wearing a casual shirt and pants. Who dresses like that at home?

Then she remembered.

He was a royalty.

He must have been used to it.

"Are you going to ask me to join you?"

She smirked at his question.

"No."

"Really?"

She squeezed the loofah on her neck. "Really..." she smirked.

Matthew snorted.

"Aren’t we eating dinner?" he asked.

"What dinner?" she feigned ignorance. "I already had mine."

She didn’t even know she could speak like this to a man, to any man.

Matthew’s eyes darkened. "I don’t want you to faint," he said. "After all, the night is still long."

"So?"

"I will be waiting for you downstairs."

He didn’t wait for her to say a word as he closed the door, leaving her alone with her running water and fantasies.

.....

Ava didn’t even notice how tired her leg were until she walked down the stairs.

Her knees quivered, her limbs felt weak. She steadied herself and slowly made her way to the kitchen.

And what she saw made her gasp.

"Candlelights?" she asked. Matthew and his candle. Alright, that came out wrong.

She recalled meeting him in his office and having that candlelit dinner.

What they had now was pretty similar.

Except, there were no chefs.

There was only Matthew.

She accepted the wine that he handed her before making herself comfortable on the chair that he had already pulled out for her.

The gesture was sweet— too sweet. She almost felt awkward.

Don’t get her wrong.

She was grateful.

But she wasn’t used to the attention.

"You don’t like it?" he asked.

"I do. But I never expected, a Lycan Royalty to be cooking for me."

"I grew up not knowing that I was one."

"A royalty?" she asked, surprised.

He calmly shrugged as he sat across from her. "My mother and I... weren’t treated like one."

"That— "

"Those are in the past. Don’t let it ruin the mood," he lifted a wine glass. "To... world peace."

She laughed at that.

Then she nodded.

"Right... to world peace."

He sliced her steak before giving it to her.

"The Lycans called..." Matthew said. "I told them we are not going." freēwēbnovel.com

"To the invitation?" Ava asked.

"Yes. There is no need for them to meet you."

"And I presumed they didn’t react well?"

He shook his head. "They cannot do something about it."

She pursed her lips as she thought of Matthew’s fiance. An uncomfortable sensation raised inside her chest. It wasn’t jealousy. But it was close.

She felt suffocated and angry.

The fire from the candlelights suddenly trembled.

"What are you thinking?" he asked. He must have sensed her anger.

"Nothing."

"Since the marking..." Matthew calmly took a tissue and dab it on his lips. "I can feel your emotions."

"What?"

"I couldn’t read your mind... but I could feel your anger."

"You didn’t tell me..."

"I didn’t know what it was."

She squinted. He wasn’t really lying. He was still calm just like his usual self.

"So... what made you angry?" Matthew asked, curiosity danced in his silver eyes.

"Your family is asking you to mark a different woman?"

"Yes," he answered without any hesitation. "Before I met you, I was set to mark another Lycan."

"Niana."

"I was not informed." Matthew said. And again, he was telling the truth. But the fact that he was so calm about it, suddenly made her angrier. Was he going to mark another woman if she didn’t show up?

Why was he so calm?

"You were going to mark another woman?"

"I was not planning to."

"But it’s your responsibility, isn’t it."

He shook his head. "Only if I want to become the Lycan King."

Ava frowned. His honesty was both relaxing and infuriating.

"You don’t want to be the King," she stated.

This time, Matthew lifted an eyebrow at her. "Depends."

"On what?" she asked.

"On you," he said with a smug smile.

"On me?" she asked, confused.

"Whether you would want to be... My Queen?"
