Director Chen finished the remaining half pack of cigarettes in one go.
He sat in the dark room for a long time. After the smoke cleared, he picked up the walkie-talkie on the table, got up, and walked to the living room of the stone house.
All seven guests sat on the sofa, discussing the next steps in the development of the Sanxi Lake area.
Liu Yuxi acted as if nothing had happened, enthusiastically participating in the project discussion throughout.
Director Chen stood behind the live broadcast camera, his face cold and expressionless, staring at Liu Yuxi without saying a word.
Jiang Hexi glanced up and saw Director Chen's ashen face.
She had seen Director Chen with a dark expression before, but she had never seen him with such bulging veins, exuding an aura of impending doom.
Following that gaze, she saw that the person Director Chen was staring intently at was actually Liu Yuxi.
Director Chen had considered the implications behind this. After Liu Yuxi obtained the secretly filmed video, her agency probably already had the marketing copy ready.
The reason I informed him in advance was to put pressure on him and force him to make a decision.
Director Chen would rather take the initiative than be led by the nose by public opinion.
"Someone reported that there were real-life couples in the farming reality show, and even provided substantial evidence."
The guests present all knew who the real-life couple was, and even the staff outside the venue and the vast number of netizens in the live broadcast room guessed who it was.
But no one will report it to Director Chen, let alone with substantial evidence. This is clearly forcing people to quit the farming variety show.

Director Chen stared intently at her and asked, "What does it mean to have loved?"
"I was naive back then and was captivated by his good looks. We were together briefly."
Jiang Hexi, without panicking or losing her breath, lied:
"After getting him, I found out he wasn't all that great. To cut my losses, I broke up with him. Director, I have chat logs as proof."
She submitted screenshots of her chat history with Yan Jie.
Yan Jie sat on the sofa, furious at her words.
His idea was to acknowledge their relationship and then fight Director Chen to the bitter end, forcing Director Chen to abandon the rules he had previously set.
Who would have thought that she would back down as soon as she opened her mouth, not only surrendering but also betraying him, leaving him in such a miserable state.
Director Chen saw the "specially" prepared chat screenshots and investigated thoroughly:
"What do you mean by getting back together after the show?"
"I'm lying to him."
Jiang Hexi said with a frank expression:
“We got together after the first season ended. When I learned that the second season was about to start filming, I broke up with him so as not to affect my farming life. He couldn’t accept it at the time, so I had no choice but to do this.”
"Is it a real breakup or a fake one?"
"It was genuine after we got on the show."
Will they get back together?
"Absolutely not during the recording of a variety show."
Director Chen immediately announced: "The facts are clear. There is no such thing as a real-life couple, so this report is invalid."
Liu Yuxi didn't expect Director Chen to define the matter so hastily.
She looked at Yan Jie sitting opposite her: "Prince Yan, is it really as Xi Mei said?"
"I dated Xi Mei, isn't that a normal thing?"
Yan Jie coldly retorted to her:
"As for why we broke up later, that's a problem between the two of us, so I won't take up public resources here."
Liu Yuxi smiled but didn't say anything, though her fingernails had already dug into her palms.
Jiang Hexi roughly guessed who was behind this, and she wouldn't allow anyone to plot against her in secret.
"Director Chen, who reported me behind my back?"

Jiang Hexi pressed on, asking questions relentlessly, but Director Chen remained silent, not uttering a single word.
She knew Director Chen's character too well; he would never falsely accuse an innocent person, nor would he ever protect a guilty one. Silence was his best response.
"Is that person one of the seven guests?"
Director Chen remained silent and didn't say a word, causing an uproar in the audience.
The relationship between Xie Wanyi and the five members of the financial group is unusual, and it is impossible that any one of them was the one who reported Yan Jie and Jiang Hexi.
Liu Yuxi, who was left, naturally became the most suspicious person.
"The substantial evidence that Director Chen is referring to should be a secretly filmed video."
