An unexpected old friend

An unexpected old friend

"Okay, I'll wait for you." Alred lowered his eyes dejectedly, the light shining on his silver-white hair made him glow, and the whole insect felt soft and could not help but feel pity.

As expected, the female insect on the screen put three fingers together and swore to come back soon. Although she knew it was just a coaxing word, she couldn't help but raise the corners of her mouth slightly. A knock on the door sounded at an inopportune time. The male insect turned off the screen, and the tenderness in his eyes gradually faded: "Come in."

The newly appointed sub-female didn't know what had offended the big Buddha. The cold and penetrating gaze made his back feel cold. He gritted his teeth and put the photo on the desk, not daring to raise his head.

Alred's fingertips swept across a row of photos, and finally picked up one to examine carefully. In the photo, a thin female insect was lying on a hospital bed. Her pale face made her dark green eyes shine brightly, so bright that even Morse in the bed next to her could be clearly reflected in it.

Putting aside his jealous side, this male insect always provokes Mu Xiao to do things that harm himself and benefit others. He has no reason to exist in this world at all.

The lighter clicked on, and the jumping flames engulfed the blond male insect in the photo. He turned his wrist, shaking off the wisp of smoke connecting the edge of the photo: "Did you find the insect I asked you to find?"

The male insect's sudden cry startled the sub-female, who trembled all over. She reported the progress of the mission tremblingly: "We've found a trace of it. We'll definitely catch it in the next few days."

"Well, get out." Alred stared at the fallen ashes on the desk with an expressionless face.

During lunch time, the guards on the second floor were not strict, and Mu Xiao easily hid in the bathroom cubicle to inject the medicine. As time passed, the bug in the mirror remained unchanged. Just when he suspected that it was a fake drug, its skeleton began to shrink, and the real and fake appearances overlapped and intertwined, finally freezing on a strange appearance.

He opened the door and ran out. His hurried footsteps attracted the attention of the toad who was delivering food. The toad immediately realized something was wrong and chased after him. But something unexpected happened. The medicine, which had not lasted long, suddenly lost its effect. He watched his arms slowly grow thicker, and cursed in his heart what kind of weird medicine that bastard Morse had.

Mu Xiao turned the corner in front, with footsteps pressing on him from behind. He had no time to think about what to do next, so he decided to just take a gamble and casually turned the doorknob and rushed in. Fortunately, the noise outside the door gradually died down, but unfortunately, he bumped head-on into a bug.

"An...Anthony?" His voice trembled when he saw the appearance of the insect opposite him clearly. What he saw in front of him was not another insect, but Anthony, a female insect on the desolate planet. However, the sickly tail hook hanging from his tail vertebrae and the turbid and messy mental network around it were obviously owned by a male insect.

Anthony's eyes flashed with surprise, but it quickly faded. He knew Mu Xiao was here, but he just didn't expect to meet him so soon. He eagerly hugged the female insect he had been thinking about. The aggressive male insect pheromones in his nose attacked his mental network. His already fragile mental domain curled up in pain, but he still didn't let go. "Is it the male insect from the desolate planet? It doesn't matter. I will find a way to remove the mark."

Mu Xiao pushed the mumbling bug away, ripping off the spiritual threads covering his body one by one, and demanded, "You betrayed the Zerg?"

Anthony chuckled coldly, not caring about the female insect's opinion. He stubbornly held the back of her hand and brought it to his lips: "Yes, I am a male insect now. I am no longer restricted by my male and female identity. We can be together forever."

"You're crazy." Mu Xiao couldn't understand his train of thought, and he didn't know when they had ever made a vow of eternal love.

"It doesn't matter whether you are crazy or not, do you want to go out now?" The insect opposite him was so innocent when he lost the desolate planet, or in other words, he tore off the false mask, and was sure that he would not choose to fail.

Mu Xiao clenched his fists, wavering in his heart. However, he had sacrificed so much and it wasn't worth it to give up now. He put on a faint smile, raised his head and looked directly into the other person's eyes, then took the initiative: "What do you want? We can cooperate."

The male insect reached out and caressed those green eyes that were so beautiful that even the Zerg's main galaxy would be dimmed, and whispered: "I just need you to stay with me."

Mu Xiao stayed in Anthony's private office for a while, making sure it was safe outside before slamming the door and leaving. He walked down the stairs step by step. Morse seemed to have been waiting for a long time, leaning against the handrail in deep thought. Seeing him come out, he put on a familiar fake smile and said, "How about you find what you're looking for?"

The female insect studied his fake face and realized that all of this was planned by the insect: "Did you work with Anthony to trick me into coming here?"

"Yes, we are partners, there is no conflict, and he won't hurt you, right?" Morse took off his glasses and carefully wiped the dusty lenses with a handkerchief, not afraid of a quarrel at all.

Mu Xiao laughed in anger and shrugged, saying, "Don't let yourself be tricked like me one day."

"Don't worry, not everyone is as kind as you." Morse imitated him and shrugged, looking like he deserved a beating.

Mu Xiao was so angry that his teeth were itching, but contacting Anthony would give him a high probability of sneaking into the room where the male insects were imprisoned, which was not a bad thing after all, and the fact that Anthony turned into a male insect was also worth digging deeper.

In order to familiarize himself with the base environment, Mu Xiao was arranged to temporarily live in a single dormitory near the base. The shower room was covered with a layer of mist after he had just finished taking a shower. He wiped the mirror with his hands and looked at the modified and broken body. It was the first time he looked directly at his own body since he received the message.

If he returned to the world that truly belonged to him, would he be able to live like before? How would this strange body blend in with the crowd?

The locked bedroom door opened with a click from the outside. Mu Xiao pulled down the bathrobe hanging behind the door and put it on. He lifted up his wet hair and went to meet the uninvited guest.

He leaned against the door frame, crossed his arms, and looked at Anthony, who was sitting on the bed, and asked in a bad tone, "What's wrong with you coming so late?"

"I couldn't sleep, so I came to see you." The male insect had a pale face and dark circles under his eyes. He really looked like he hadn't slept for many nights, and he was thinner than in the past few days.

"Insects must be responsible for the path they choose." Mu Xiao sighed. He sat next to Anthony and looked at Xiongzi with his head resting on his thigh, and the sickly tail hook gently touching his ankle.

He coldly grabbed the tail hook and threw it aside. The male insect shuddered, looked up pitifully, and whispered, "I don't have that ability."

"Are the missing male insects in the dungeon related to you?" Mu Xiao was in no mood to get sentimental with him, so he went straight to the point and asked.

Anthony didn't shy away from it. He played with the buttons on the man's bathrobe and said as if showing off his achievements: "Yes, it's thanks to my family's power on the desolate planet."

"But you are of the same kind after all, and the Toad Tribe is equally unreliable." Mu Xiao was worried about Anthony's future fate and tried to dissuade him.

"We are not of the same kind. Our relationship is one of submission and control. I am so afraid of being randomly assigned to a strange male insect and living the same life as my female father. Instead of being a puppet, why can't I make my own choice?" Anthony's fingers stroked the twisted scar on Mu Xiao's chest, his eyes clearly saying that we are all the same.
