Chapter Twenty-Six: Sixty Years Later

Chapter Twenty-Six: Sixty Years Later

On Changle Island.

After taking a bath, Han Wei, dressed in a pure white gauze dress, walked to the waterside pavilion where Gu Qi often played the zither. The bamboo curtain was rolled up high, and the man in white sat in front of the carved window. He was not playing the zither, but simply sitting beside the jade table, gazing at the distant green mountains.

Two cranes are playing in the pond.

A gentle breeze caressed her face. Standing behind the man, Han Wei watched his back as she unconsciously reached out to touch her lips, recalling that kiss.

Her face flushed quickly, and she immediately tried to forget about it. She cursed herself inwardly: Han Wei, what are you thinking? He's not Lu Qingheng; he just looks like him.

Han Wei walked over and sat down on the futon opposite Gu Qi. Looking at Gu Qi's jade-like profile, she said, "Master, weren't you going into seclusion for several years?"

"If I go into seclusion for several years, I'll be collecting your corpse when I come out," Gu Qi said irritably.

Han Wei lowered her head, then said defiantly, "It's not that bad, I still have a way to escape."

"Oh? So it seems I was meddling in other people's business?" Gu Qi sneered.

Han Wei quickly said, "No, that's not what I meant."

Gu Qi glanced at her, then looked away. Seeing him staring into the distance, silent for a long time, seemingly unwilling to talk to her, Han Wei couldn't help but speak up: "I was just unlucky. I almost killed Su Rumei and the Heavenly Enchantress Saintess, just a hair's breadth away."

"How was I supposed to know Xie Yun was nearby? Even if he was, logically speaking, he couldn't do anything to me. I couldn't beat him, but I could easily escape. How was I supposed to know that guy also had a magical treasure?"

“A spiritual treasure isn’t like a cabbage. Do you think I don’t know what treasures the Qingyun Sect has? Xie Yun has a spiritual treasure, yet he’s so low-key and hasn’t even expanded his territory.”

Han Wei was indeed unlucky. If Xie Yun had arrived even a moment later, both the Heavenly Enchantress and Su Rumei would have been killed by her. If Xie Yun hadn't possessed the Wind Dragon Ring, she certainly wouldn't have ended up in such a sorry state. If Xie Yun had been aggressively expanding his power over the years, Han Wei would certainly have known what he possessed and wouldn't have acted rashly.

Han Wei looked at Gu Qi as she spoke, and when he didn't react, she asked again, "Master, how did you know I was in danger?"

Gu Qi glanced at her but said nothing.

Han Wei suddenly understood, because she was bound by a restriction he had placed on her. On the very first day he took her as his disciple, he placed a restriction on her—the Soul-Locking Curse—and Han Wei had always been furious about it. This meant he had her lifeline, knowing her whereabouts at any time and being able to kill her.

She had studied the restriction and knew how to break it, but she couldn't do it with her current strength.

Recalling the restriction, Han Wei's guilty conscience disappeared, and she said:

"I was just going out for a walk; I didn't mean to disobey your orders."

Gu Qi remained silent.

"Master, what is your cultivation level? You must be at least at the Refinement stage, right? Why don't we storm the Azure Cloud Sect now?" Han Wei said with a smile as she sat down next to Gu Qi.

Gu Qi looked at her: "Attack the Qingyun Sect? Why would I do that?"

"Help me get revenge?"

Why should I help you get revenge?

"I'm your disciple. Xie Yun beat me so badly I vomited blood, so much blood, how many spirit stones is that worth? All these years you've fed me so many rare and precious herbs, wasn't it all so I could form my Nascent Soul sooner? The blood I shed is all your blood and sweat," Han Wei said exaggeratedly.

Gu Qi stared at Han Wei for a long time before slowly saying:

"I was severely injured a long time ago, causing my cultivation level to drop to the Nascent Soul stage. Since then, every time I use a cultivation level higher than the Nascent Soul stage, I suffer a backlash that worsens my injuries. I've already suffered a backlash because of you just now. If you want me to help you take revenge, you'll have to give me something in return, right?"

Benefits? What benefits?

Gu Qi reached out and pulled Han Wei into his arms. The man, holding her soft, warm body, lowered his head and whispered in the girl's ear:

"If you want me to help you take revenge now, then let's start our dual cultivation now."

A gentle breath brushed against the girl's ear, and her ears turned red.

When her fair earlobe was sucked, Han Wei trembled and instinctively pushed the man away, leaping several steps away.

Han Wei looked at Gu Qi:

"I think the most satisfying thing about revenge is doing it yourself."

Han Wei strode away and returned to her room. She crossed her arms and cursed Gu Qi inwardly.

Damn it! I knew his seriousness a few years ago was just an act. He didn't do anything to her a few years ago, but today he's kissing and hugging her, and even trying to seduce her into dual cultivation with him now.

Dual cultivation? Dream on!

Han Wei walked to the bed and sat down to meditate. The next day, Gu Qi told her that he was going to continue his seclusion, and this time he repeatedly warned her not to run around again. Having learned her lesson, Han Wei, although still thinking about the things in the Eastern Region, had no intention of going there alone, and focused on cultivating on the island.

Gu Qi went into seclusion, so she simply went into seclusion as well.

Qingyun Sect.

Inside the secret chamber, Xie Yun and the Heavenly Enchantress sat facing each other, both having just finished healing their injuries. They had initially been terrified by Gu Qi and didn't even dare to return to the Qingyun Sect, fearing that Gu Qi would come to report them.

But they quickly realized that if they were truly at the Void Refinement stage, why would they have let them escape so easily that day? They would have simply come after them.

Therefore, the two of them came to the conclusion that Han Wei's lover was probably injured or for some other reason, and was unable to make continuous attacks.

After figuring this out, the two of them returned to the Qingyun Sect.

"Thank you, Fellow Daoist. Now that Han Wei has a powerful backer, it will be even more difficult to kill her in the future. Thank you, Fellow Daoist, she killed three of your disciples. Don't you hate her?" said the Heavenly Enchantress.

Xie Yun looked at her coldly:

What do you want to say?

"I know you've always been wary of me, but if I were stronger, I could help you, wouldn't I?" said the Heavenly Demon Mother. "I already have a restriction placed on me by you, so what are you afraid of?"

What do you want?

"I hope you will do everything in your power to help Mei'er achieve her Core Formation," said the Heavenly Demon Mother.

Xie Yun said coldly, "What? You still want me to cultivate with her?"

"Of course not, I just want to trouble you to help her find some suitable furnaces," said the Heavenly Enchantress.

Xie Yun remained silent but did not object, and the Heavenly Enchantress knew that he had tacitly agreed.

Sixty years later.

Above the azure sky, a magnificent flying ship was soaring forward. On the deck of this flying ship, a young girl dressed in a soft blue dress and draped in a white shawl was gazing at the surrounding scenery.

The girl looked to be about seventeen or eighteen years old, with an exceptionally beautiful face and an air of pristine purity, like ice and snow. Her dark eyes sparkled with a bright light, and as the breeze lifted her clothes, her long shawl danced in the wind, adding to her ethereal grace.

A man dressed in pristine white emerged from the cabin, sunlight illuminating his flawless, jade-like face. The young girl turned and called out, "Master."

Gu Qi walked towards Han Wei and stood next to her.

Sixty years later, Han Wei's cultivation had reached the peak of the late Core Formation stage. Because of her agreement with Gu Qi, Han Wei had some concerns and didn't know whether she should form her Nascent Soul stage sooner or later.
