Chapter Twenty-Seven: The Trade Fair
Although Gu Qi said he was seriously injured and could only exert the strength of a Nascent Soul cultivator, how credible is that? If he really had reached the Nascent Soul stage and still couldn't win, wouldn't he be...?
Han Wei had been wanting to go to the Eastern Region alone, but she couldn't find the opportunity, so she had to come with Gu Qi.
The master and disciple are currently in the Fangshan Mountains in the Eastern Region.
"Master, have you been to the Eastern Region before?" Han Wei asked, placing her hands on the railing.
Gu Qi said, "I've been here before."
"When did you arrive?" Han Wei asked.
Gu Qi said, "I came here hundreds of years ago."
Han Wei stared at his profile and asked, "By the way, Master, where are you from?"
“The Northern Region, I was born in the Northern Region,” Gu Qi said.
The Northern Regions—the thought of the Northern Regions conjured up images of snowflakes dancing in the air for Han Wei. She had visited the Northern Regions in her previous life, but had never stayed long and knew little about them.
"And then? Tell me more, like about your family," Han Wei asked curiously.
She had asked him indirectly before, but he had never answered. This time, Han Wei hadn't held out much hope, thinking he would simply ignore her question, but to her surprise, he actually answered.
Gu Qi looked at the distant mountains and said:
“My parents are not cultivators, but ordinary people. I was once accepted as a personal disciple by the sect leader because of my outstanding talent. Later, my parents were murdered. I avenged them by killing the man, which made me an enemy of his entire family. His family was powerful, with eight Nascent Soul elders. My master hesitated and handed me over.”
"I survived a great calamity, and after achieving success in my cultivation, I will return to report this. First, I will kill that man's eight ancestors, and then exterminate his entire clan."
Han Wei was slightly surprised; he used to be like this.
"Do you...do you hate your master?" Han Wei asked.
“Not hating is only human nature,” Gu Qi said.
Because the topic was a bit heavy, Han Wei didn't continue.
The flying boat continued to fly forward. After flying for a while, a huge bird appeared from a place on the horizon. The bird was more than 30 feet tall, and its feathers were red, green and blue. Two people were sitting cross-legged on the back of the bird.
The two men were a slender, refined old man in blue robes and a handsome young man in yellow robes. The old man in blue robes had a ruddy complexion and a long white beard; he was a mid-Nascent Soul cultivator. The young man beside him appeared to be his disciple, with a mid-Core Formation cultivation level.
The old man in green and Gu Qi stood on the back of a spirit pet and on the deck of a flying boat, respectively. Their divine senses had already spotted each other from afar.
The old man in blue was surprised. He stood up and urged his spirit pet to fly towards Gu Qi. His disciple looked at his master with a puzzled expression and also stood up.
In the sky, a large bird with brightly colored feathers and a magnificent flying boat came to a stop.
"Fellow Daoist Gu, it's been a long time!" The old man in blue cupped his hands in greeting.
Gu Qi smiled and clasped his hands in a fist salute: "Fellow Daoist Shi, what a coincidence!"
The old man in blue was one of the Supreme Elders of the Eastern Region's Glazed Pavilion, named Shi Hongmin. The young man beside Shi Hongmin was his direct disciple, Wei Yan.
After greeting Gu Qi, Shi Hongmin's gaze fell on Han Wei. Upon seeing Han Wei's appearance clearly, his eyes flashed with amazement. He laughed and said, "What a beautiful girl! Is this girl Fellow Daoist Gu's disciple?"
As Shi Hongmin finished speaking, his disciple Wei Yan was also staring at Han Wei's face. Wei Yan was always arrogant and disdainful of the many young female cultivators in the sect who admired him. But today, after seeing Han Wei, he couldn't take his eyes off her after just one glance.
What a beautiful woman! Even a celestial being couldn't compare!
How could Gu Qi not notice him staring so intently at Han Wei? Shi Hongmin also noticed his apprentice's expression.
Gu Qi smiled, reached out and patted Han Wei's head, and said to Shi Hongmin, "This is my beloved student, Han Wei."
Shi Hongmin's smile faltered. Han Wei was already a grown woman, and Gu Qi's actions were clearly too intimate. It was obvious that their relationship went beyond that of teacher and student. Wei Yan, standing beside Shi Hongmin, stiffened, clearly understanding the situation as well.
If no one else were around, Han Wei would have slapped Gu Qi's hand away right now.
But now she could only wait for Gu Qi to remove his hand himself.
After Gu Qi removed her hand, she clasped her hands in greeting to Shi Hongmin: "Greetings, Senior!"
"No need for such formalities, Fairy Han." After saying that, Shi Hongmin smiled at Gu Qi and said, "Fellow Daoist Gu, are you heading to Flying Immortal City ahead?"
Gu Qi nodded: "Exactly."
"That's great, we're going the same way," Shi Hongmin said with a smile.
"If Fellow Daoist Shi doesn't mind, why don't we board the boat and have a chat?" Gu Qi said with a smile.
Upon hearing this, Shi Hongmin laughed heartily and said, "That would be wonderful. It has been a long time since I discussed the Dao with Fellow Daoist Gu." After saying that, Shi Hongmin put away his spirit pet and boarded the flying boat with his disciple Wei Yan.

Flying Immortal City is one of the most famous cultivation cities in the Eastern Region.
At this moment, on a main street in Feixian City, a handsome man in white, a stunningly beautiful girl in blue, an elegant old man in green, and a handsome young man walked together, attracting much attention.
Wherever they went, the crowd automatically parted to make way for them.
This is because two of these four individuals are Nascent Soul cultivators, and the other two are in the late Core Formation stage. Who wouldn't be terrified by such a combination?
However, the four of them were already used to such attention and were not surprised at all.
“Speaking of which, I came to Flying Immortal City to attend a small trade fair. I wonder if Fellow Daoist Gu would be interested in joining me?” Shi Hongmin offered.
Gu Qi looked at Shi Hongmin and asked, "Who organized this?"
“Speaking of which, Fellow Daoist Gu should also know him. Do you remember Master Qingfeng?” Shi Hongmin asked.
While Gu Qi and Shi Hongmin were talking, Wei Yan kept glancing at Han Wei, while Han Wei kept a close eye on their conversation. From their talk, she gleaned information that Gu Qi was quite familiar with the Eastern Region. Then, when they mentioned the Venerable Qingfeng, an image of a gaunt old man immediately popped into Han Wei's mind.
In her previous life, Han Wei formed her Nascent Soul here in the Eastern Region and had dealings with many Nascent Soul cultivators here. Although she did not know Shi Hongmin, she had traded items with Qingfeng Shangren a few times in her previous life.
Gu Qi chuckled: "Oh, it's him. We're free anyway, let's go take a look together."
As the four of them walked, they came to a rather inconspicuous alley. The alley looked ordinary, but even a Nascent Soul cultivator could see that there was a magnificent pavilion in the middle of the alley. The pavilion had the three large characters "Qingfeng Residence" written on it, which was the place where Master Qingfeng often held trade fairs.
Han Wei had had an abundance of rare and precious herbs over the years, many of which enhanced her divine sense. Even now, outside of forests or other lush vegetation, her divine sense had already reached the Nascent Soul level. She spotted Qingfeng Residence at a glance. Following Gu Qi forward, they arrived in front of Qingfeng Residence, where a screen of light appeared.
This light curtain is a barrier.
With a wave of his hand, Shi Hongmin created a gap in the light screen. Shi Hongmin and Gu Qi went in first, followed by Han Wei and Wei Yan.
