Is there anything you like in Chapter Twenty-Eight?
As soon as Han Wei stepped into Qingfeng Residence, she felt several Nascent Soul level divine senses sweep over her. Han Wei subconsciously moved closer to Gu Qi, and the Nascent Souls inside immediately withdrew their divine senses upon seeing Gu Qi, who was at the late Nascent Soul stage.
In the spacious hall, there were about ten tables, with people sitting or standing around them. In the center of the hall, there was a huge pool filled with golden lotuses. Above the pool was a large stone platform, where about ten beautiful dancers were performing.
"Oh, isn't this Fellow Daoist Gu? What a rare guest!"
A gaunt old man dressed in an apricot-yellow robe, holding a whisk in his left hand, walked towards Gu Qi with a smile. This man was none other than Master Qingfeng.
Gu Qi looked at Master Qingfeng and said with a smile, "You've come uninvited, are you not unwelcome?"
"How could that be? Fellow Daoist Gu, it's been a long time since I've heard from you in the Eastern Region. If I had known you were coming, I would have invited you long ago." Venerable Qingfeng said with a smile. As he spoke, he also noticed Han Wei, and after looking her over for a few moments, a look of amazement appeared in his eyes:
"Fellow Daoist Gu, who is this young lady...?"
“My disciple, Han Wei.” Gu Qi glanced at Han Wei.
Han Wei clasped her hands in a fist salute to Master Qingfeng.
Those present had already turned their attention to this side. Although Gu Qi had spent a considerable amount of time in the Eastern Region, he mostly cultivated alone, and his only acquaintances here were Shi Hongmin and Master Qingfeng. While Gu Qi and Master Qingfeng were speaking, the Nascent Soul cultivators were already using their divine senses to try and guess Gu Qi's identity.
Although no one knew Gu Qi, who would dare to underestimate a master in the late stage of the Nascent Soul realm?
In this Qingfeng Residence, besides Gu Qi, there's only one other late-stage Nascent Soul cultivator. The female cultivators are quite interested in Gu Qi, frequently casting their gazes at him.
"Fellow Daoist Gu, please have a seat here!"
Master Qingfeng immediately arranged a seat for Gu Qi, with Shi Hongmin sitting at the table next to him. Even though Han Wei was in the late stage of Core Formation, there was no place for her; she stood behind Gu Qi. Wei Yan stood behind Shi Hongmin, and some of the other Nascent Soul cultivators also had Core Formation cultivators standing behind them.
Although Gu Qi didn't know any of the other Nascent Soul cultivators, he did know Han Wei.
She glanced around and thought, "Wow, they're all people I knew from my past life."
In the southeast corner sat a beautiful woman in a red palace dress, exuding charm and allure—this was Fairy Yu Nong of the Hehuan Sect. Opposite her sat a nonchalant middle-aged scholar, her cultivation partner, Ding Qi. From the moment Gu Qi entered, Fairy Yu Nong had been staring intently at him, constantly sending him flirtatious glances, but Gu Qi hadn't given her a single look, which greatly annoyed her.
Her little action was noticed by her Daoist partner. Ding Qi didn't seem angry; instead, he stared at Han Wei for several moments.
In their past life, Han Wei had tried to take something from this couple.
At the table next to Fairy Yu Nong and Ding Qi sat a man who was completely covered up, wearing a hood and a mask. He was a well-known rogue cultivator in the Eastern Region. It was said that no one had ever seen his face. His name was unknown, and everyone called him Shadow Daoist.
Han Wei had met this Shadow Taoist in her previous life, but she only knew him and had never actually interacted with him.
Not far from Ying Daoren sat an old man dressed as a wealthy man, who was using an abacus as if doing accounting. Behind him stood two Golden Core cultivators. This old man was named Tie Suanzi, a Nascent Soul Grand Elder of the Golden Sand Sect in the Eastern Region.
This guy is extremely stingy. Han Wei has no blood feud with him, but this bastard cheated her by selling her counterfeit goods.
Sitting next to Tie Suanzi was a man dressed in a purple robe with a dignified expression. The man was unsmiling, and everyone else in the hall looked at him with fear and apprehension. This man was the second late-stage Nascent Soul cultivator besides Gu Qi.
He was Wen Kexing, the island lord of Yunmiao Island. Behind Wen Kexing stood a female cultivator at the peak of the late Core Formation stage. The woman was exceptionally beautiful and had an arrogant demeanor. She was Wen Chun, Wen Kexing's direct disciple.
Wen Chun was staring at Han Wei. Han Wei met her gaze and noticed the provocation in Wen Chun's eyes. Han Wei didn't know what she meant. In her previous life, when she met Wen Chun, she was already at the Nascent Soul stage. This little girl had to respectfully call her "Senior Han." One was at the Nascent Soul stage, the other at the Core Formation stage; they had never crossed paths in their previous lives.
What's with that provocative look she's giving me?
Could it be that she's taken a liking to Gu Qi?
Wen Chun's heart did indeed race the moment she saw Gu Qi, but Han Wei's current identity was Gu Qi's disciple, not his Daoist partner, so Wen Chun's actions towards Han Wei were not meant to provoke her.
Wen Chun had always felt that she was highly talented and was proud of her beauty. When she suddenly met a Core Formation stage female cultivator who was more beautiful than her and had similar strength, she became competitive.
Although Han Wei hadn't said a word to her, she already wanted to fight Han Wei.
Han Wei looked away, too lazy to pay attention to Wen Chun. She looked elsewhere and recognized the other Nascent Soul cultivators, such as the gloomy old woman in black, Granny Yinhua; and the cold-faced man who looked like a corpse puppet, Xuan Yinzi.
After Gu Qi and Shi Hongmin took their seats, Shi Hongmin looked at Gu Qi and introduced the Nascent Soul cultivators present to him via telepathy.
After a while, Tie Suanzi looked at Qingfeng Shangren and said:
"Fellow Daoist Qingfeng, we've reached the required number of participants. Now we can begin the transaction."
Master Qingfeng laughed heartily:
"Alright, it seems you fellow cultivators are all eager to begin. Let's get started!"
With a wave of his hand, the dancers on the stage went down, and the musicians stopped playing.
"I'll go first." Tie Suanzi sat in his seat and waved his hand, and a jade-colored box appeared in front of him.
A yellow talisman was affixed to the jade-colored box. Once the talisman was peeled off, a chill emanated from it, revealing many tiny blue crystals inside. Han Wei recognized these as blue crystal sand, an excellent material for refining ice-attribute magical artifacts. As divine senses swept over, some immediately became interested.
"A box of blue crystal sand. Any fellow Daoist who wants this item can exchange it for 150,000 spirit stones or equivalent items," said Tie Suanzi.
No sooner had Tie Suanzi finished speaking than Fairy Yu Nong of the Hehuan Sect said in a sweet voice:
"150,000 spirit stones."
“I’ll offer a bottle of Grade 5 Jade Flower Pill,” Xuan Yinzi said coldly from the corner.
"Sixteen thousand spirit stones." Another bidder offered.
"170,000."
A deep male voice spoke; it was Wen Kexing from Yunmiao Island. As soon as he spoke, everyone else who was about to bid fell silent. Thus, the box of blue crystal sand went to Wen Kexing.
The second transaction involved Shadow Daoist, who produced three boxes, each containing a treasure. The three treasures were: a magic weapon, a small sword of spiritual weapon grade; a fist-sized pill crystal; and a Azure Fruit.
These three treasures were of great interest to many Nascent Soul cultivators, and the bidding among them was extremely heated.
Han Wei simply watched, while Gu Qi transmitted his voice to her:
"Is there anything you like?"
He looked at Han Wei and smiled slightly: "If you have anything you like, tell me and I'll buy it for you."
Han Wei shook her head.
