Moropo himself would certainly not tell anyone about this, and outsiders naturally couldn't believe it either. So when Moropo heard Wang Yao tell the story, he looked at Wang Yao as if he had seen a ghost.
"I told you I came here to solve your problem, do you believe me now?" Wang Yao noticed the strange look on Mo Luopo's face and knew that he had been persuaded by him.
"You... why..." Mo Luopo stared at Wang Yao, stammering, still unable to believe his ears.
"Just think of it as an assignment I took on. Your situation has attracted the attention of certain departments, and they specifically sent me to resolve it," Wang Yao said vaguely.
"Solve it? How do you solve it? I... I don't have any money..." Mo Luopo looked at Wang Yao, and suddenly became worried about the swindler. After all, he hadn't been in contact with women for many years. Deep down, his thoughts about finding a partner and getting married had long faded, and he had already resigned himself to fate.
So even though he believed Wang Yao's purpose in coming, he felt no joy at all. Instead, he was somewhat reluctant. Then he thought, "No one accepts a reward without merit. How could someone not want something in return for solving such a big problem for him? This guy is most likely a liar."
If they find a female con artist to talk to me for a few minutes and then ask me for money, wouldn't I be a sucker?
Zhidu people are indeed smart. Even a fishmonger in such a remote county as Zhidu has thought through all the risks of this matter in a short period of time.
His words had two meanings: one was to ask Wang Yao how to solve the problem, thus probing Wang Yao's background; the other was to tell Wang Yao that he had no money and should not have any ulterior motives.
"How do we solve this? I haven't thought of a solution yet. I hope you can cooperate with me so we can resolve this together. Don't worry, I don't want any money. My unit will give me a reward after I complete the task," Wang Yao said with a smile.
"Your company is giving you a bonus? No... it's free?" Molop hesitated for a moment, then decisively shook his head at Wang Yao. "You should go back. I've gotten used to it after all these years. It's not bad this way; it saves a lot of trouble..."
“Tell your boss to assign you another task. I don’t need him to worry about this,” Molop said simply.
“You…” Wang Yao was stunned.
“I still have business to do. Are you leaving or not? If you don’t leave, can I leave?” Molupo asked Wang Yao, pretending to pack up his stall.
Wang Yao never expected that Mo Luopo seemed so resistant to solving his problem of being alone. After thinking about it again, he guessed the reason.
The task prompts clearly state that solving the "lonely person" task requires doing three things. The second of these is to dispel the "lonely person's" mindset of being accustomed to their current lifestyle and no longer wanting to have relationships with women.
He didn't take this seriously when he saw it, thinking that the old bachelor was just desperate for women and that if he said he could solve the problem, the bachelor would come begging to him. But he didn't expect that even an old bachelor could lose heart. Moropo completely lost the desire to communicate with women.
Seeing Molupo's aloof attitude, Wang Yao knew that this matter could not be forced. It seemed that he could only slowly think of a solution. Fortunately, he now knew that Molupo sold fish in this vegetable market, so it wouldn't be difficult to find him in the future.
"Think about it again." Wang Yao smiled and nodded at Mo Luopo, then slowly left the market, pondering how to handle the matter as he returned to his inn.
As he turned the corner, he saw Hui Shuo standing in front of the inn, looking around. When he saw Wang Yao arrive, Hui Shuo hurriedly greeted him with a smile.
"Father, Mother, what are you doing so early in the morning?" Hui Shuo asked.
Wang Yao had run into a snag while trying to get things done, and was already annoyed, so he didn't bother with him.
"Nothing's wrong," Wang Yao replied casually.
"Nothing much? If nothing much, why did your parents go out so early this morning?" Hui Shuo said with dissatisfaction.
"Hey, have you washed your face and brushed your teeth?" Wang Yao didn't want to talk to him anymore, so he changed the subject and asked.
"I brushed my teeth, what's wrong? Why does it still smell?" Hui Shuo thought he had bad breath, so he put his hand to his mouth and breathed on it. He smelled the sweet scent of toothpaste.
"Then let's find a place to have breakfast," Wang Yao said.
"Alright!"
Hui Shuo happily followed Wang Yao down the street to find a breakfast stall. Actually, there were quite a few breakfast stalls near the fish market in Molopo, with a variety of options such as fried dough sticks and steamed buns. However, Wang Yao hadn't figured out how to deal with the lone wolf, so he didn't plan to go back to the market.
The two walked in opposite directions for a while, which would have taken them out of the city. After searching for a long time without finding any breakfast stalls, they had no choice but to turn back and walk towards the fork in the road leading to the vegetable market. Wang Yao intended to continue forward, but unexpectedly, Hui Shuo was hungry. He had a keen sense of smell and sharp eyes.
He spotted the breakfast stalls extending from the entrance of the vegetable market and quickly pulled Wang Yao along.
“Father, Mother, over there…” Hui Shuo pointed to the vegetable market, and Wang Yao nodded. He led Hui Shuo to a stall in front of the market and sat down. He ordered a bowl of porridge and a basket of steamed buns for Hui Shuo, while he sat to the side, lost in thought.
"Father, Mother, aren't you going to eat? These steamed buns taste pretty good..." Hui Shuo drank a few mouthfuls of porridge and ate two buns. Seeing Wang Yao sitting quietly to the side, he couldn't help but ask.
"I don't want to eat it, you eat it," Wang Yao said, shaking his head.
"Did someone offend you, Father and Mother? Tell me, and I'll deal with them." Hui Shuo's eyes widened immediately.
"Just eat your food!" Wang Yao said impatiently.
"Aunt Li, how's Xiaoqin's boyfriend going?" Two middle-aged women were whispering at the next table.
