Chapter 118 Destiny

"Uh... Mr. Qiu... Mr. Qiu?" The police officer was a little stunned, seemingly not understanding whether this person, who was Mr. Qiu's friend, was still considered an unrelated person. While hesitating, Wang Yao had already strode up to the police officer.

"I once assisted Director Qiu in handling a case in Zhidu. Has Director Qiu returned yet? How is the case progressing?" Wang Yao asked as he walked straight ahead, and the policeman quickly followed.

"Not yet, I heard the case over there is quite complicated," the police officer replied.

Wang Yao nodded. How could something involving the underworld not be troublesome? As he spoke to the policeman, he approached the police station's perimeter.

Looking at the cordon, Wang Yao felt something was strange. The cordon was at the entrance of the haunted building alley, quite a distance away from the haunted building itself.

Several ambulances drove to the innermost part of the area, and doctors and nurses were carrying stretchers and hurrying towards them. Because of construction, temporary lights had been set up in the area, and under the lights, Wang Yao was surprised to find that the people being carried on the stretchers looked like constables.

Wasn't it said that a construction worker jumped off a building? Why is it a police officer who's being put into the ambulance? He walked over to the ambulance, peeked inside, and confirmed that it was indeed a police officer. There seemed to be some blood on his body, but with the doctors and nurses busy inside, he couldn't see very clearly.

"Make way, make way...!" A series of shouts followed, and another stretcher surrounded by doctors and nurses rushed toward the ambulance. Wang Yao knew that this was probably another major incident, and judging from the situation, it was probably quite serious.

"Xiao Chen, weren't you supposed to be on guard around the perimeter? Why did you come in?" A constable shouted as he saw the patrolmen accompanying Wang Yao walking inside.

"Hey, this guy says he's a friend of Boss Qiu. He used to help him with cases. He heard something happened here, so he came to help out," Xiao Chen called out to the constable.

"A friend of General Qiu?" The constable surnamed Huang strode over. Wang Yao noticed that a large group of constables were surrounding Huang, all looking down at the ground, and they didn't seem to care about Huang's departure.

"My name is Wang Yao. I helped Chief Qiu with cases in Zhidu," Wang Yao introduced himself to the constable surnamed Huang.
